Corrected entry: When the three killers and the boy are in the house, the boy goes into the bathroom and loses his composure. As he comes out of the bathroom, look on the right side of the screen and there is what appears to be a microphone from the set visible.

Correction: That's not a microphone, it's an ornament hanging on the wall. It's visible as he goes into the bathroom as well.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: Near the end of the sky-battle, Trudy with her chopper fires rounds at the mothership pilot and gets some herself, but even with these bullet holes, they don't lose air and don't put on their oxygen masks.

Correction: The cabin of the chopper would be pressurized so they wouldn't need to wear the oxygen masks while flying. The bullet holes weren't big enough to require masks, and the pressurization was enough to compensate for the air loss.

Corrected entry: When "Hannah" is getting her feet rubbed and Robby Ray walks in, it is stated that Hannah is jet lagged because she only flies west to east, implying she flew around the world. Since she is coming from LA, flying west to east would only take 2 hours or so to reach Tennessee.

Correction: A flight from LA to Memphis, for example, is closer to 4 hours, not 2, and that's a direct flight. If there are stops en-route, or transfers at an airport, it'll take even longer. This alone is enough to get a person jet lagged. Add in the time zone difference of 2, or 3 hours (part of TN is Eastern time, part Central) and being jet lagged is almost a certainty.

Corrected entry: During the scene where we come to the resistance air hangar at night, you can see a smoke grenade rolling along the floor near the nose of the plane to create smoke for the scene.

Correction: It could be a smoke grenade to signal any incoming vehicles or aircraft.

Knowing (2009)

Corrected entry: John, Diana and the kids show up in John's truck at Diana's mother's home. John and Diana stand in front of John's truck with the headlights on. Diana's mom's home has no power going to it, but it appears that a porch light is on above the door. It can not be from the truck's headlights because their shadow would be cast on the side of the house. So a house with no power has a porch light on.

Moles1982

Correction: Or a house with a generator. Since they live in a rural area, it's not unusual for people to have an emergency power generator.

rswarrior

Then why did they walk around in the dark instead of turning the house lights on?

Corrected entry: If you watch really carefully at some scenery shots in this film, some appear to be in the same area as what they just filmed in - even when the progression of the film suggests they have moved to a different place.

Chad_Bronson

Correction: That's the thing. They thought they were in different areas, but were lost and walking in circles. It happens to even experienced hikers, which they weren't, when not using a compass.

Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: All the TV crew vehicles on Saint Peter's Square are Ford E-Series vans, which is a US-only model. While some, those used by US networks, could have been exported, European networks would have no reason to do so.

Correction: Not all the vans are Ford E-Series first of all. Second, they can be imported to Europe with a few restrictions, so there being a lot of them is not that unusual. I have seen Fords and Chryslers in Moscow, for instance, and it is tougher to get those vehicles into Russia than many other European countries.

Breach (2007)

Corrected entry: If Juliana grew up in East Germany, she'd have to be speaking English with a German accent - especially at her young age: wouldn't have been able to get rid of it.

Correction: Baloney. I work with a man of Indian descent who was raised in New Delhi until he was 6, Farsi is his first language, and he has no discernable accent at all. He has not spoken English with an accent since he was about 10.

Fast & Furious (2009)

Corrected entry: In the last stretch of the "qualifiers" street race, the GPS-voice indicates finish is at one quarter of a mile. With both cars presumably already at top speed and then using the boosters, it still takes them forever to reach the point where they collide, which is still about a hundred yards from the finish line. Even though it can be argued the quarter mile isn't shown in real time, too many things happen for too long for it to take place in that distance.

Hex

Correction: If you mean forever taking about ten seconds. In fact the cars were not at top speed, as they were shown at about 100 kmh by Brian's speedo just before the boost was hit. A car going 60 mph (approx 98 kmh) running start takes 15 seconds to run a quarter mile. From the time 1/4 mile is announced to the time Brian is taken out of the race is about 20 seconds. The flashing back between Dom and Brian happens concurrently, so we can easily knock a few seconds off that time. Banging the cars together is going to scrub off some speed as well. Dom is shown approaching the finish line with Brian spun out in the background at about 3 semi-truck /trailer units from the finish line which is at most 210 feet. As the race is not completely real time, with the alternating shots between Dom and Brian, the 20 seconds or so it takes to travel the 1/4 mile is not far off what is shown in the movie, and can't be considered a mistake.

Corrected entry: Mary is supposed to be Italian in the movie, since she mentioned her parents came over from Italy. However, when she's talking on the phone to her boss in the street, you can hear her Spanish accent come out when she says the word "three".

Deevums

Correction: My parents came from Norway, and I am neither Norwegian nor speak with a Norwegian accent. I learned French in high school, and some words I speak have a French accent. Mary could have friends who speak Spanish, could have studied it in school, or picked up the accent in the neighborhood in which she lived.

King Kong (2005)

Corrected entry: The New York scenes take place in winter, on a day cold enough for the lake in Central Park to freeze hard enough to hold Kong's weight. Despite this, Anne Darrow shows no hint of cold or discomfort, despite wearing a sleeveless gown. Kong takes her to the top of the Empire State Building, where it's even colder. Still no discomfort. In fact, she's able to climb a metal ladder, which should have frozen her poor little fingers off. By the time Driscoll reached her, Darrow should have been a block of ice. The effects of adrenaline would never have lasted to keep Anne warm for that long.

K.C. Sierra

Correction: Evidently you haven't lived in a cold climate. We just had a week of -30C night-time temperatures. The lakes and rivers around here are frozen hard. My neighbours went ice fishing today, parking their large 4X4 truck and all its gear on the lake. It didn't break through, and it is above freezing today. They even built a fire on the lake to cook burgers. It didn't go through the ice. It's easy for a pond to be completely frozen, and stay frozen for some time after the weather warms up. A person's hands don't freeze their little fingers off climbing a ladder, unless they hold their hands on it for some time. I've done it, and never had frostbite. A block of ice wouldn't happen unless the person dies. Blood circulating through a body keeps you from freezing solid in the winter. From other scenes in the movie, where passersby are seen with their coats open and scarves undone, it is apparent the weather is not that cold. There are also scenes with melting snow in the street, further evidence that it was likely quite cold earlier in the week, but has warmed up considerably.

Stigmata (1999)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the priest is offering the mass, he's freestanding, and says the words "This is my body" while holding the bread, then gives it to the people. Then he holds the chalice and says "This is my blood", and gives it to the people. This would never happen at a mass. He would be standing at an altar, and the bread and wine would be on it, and the people would get them both together, way after the prayer with those words in it.

subdiaconus

Correction: Indeed, the way it was done is what happens at most Protestant services I have attended. However, some Catholic masses I have attended do it the way depicted in the film. They were in mostly smaller congregations.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: "Young" Conan and "adult" Conan are frequently seen with lipstick on the lips. There was no lipstick during the Hyperborian Age.

Correction: First, the Hyperborian Age is mythical, but besides that, lipstick has been used since Biblical times. Not lipstick as we know it, but coloring the lips with berry stains and such was not unheard of even in early Roman times, in what we refer to as BC era.

Grease 2 (1982)

Corrected entry: During "Reproduction," when the teacher asks if there are any question, Johnny takes out a Playboy magazine and asks, "Yeah, I was wondering if you could tell me where she lives?" Goose follows by saying, "Hey, what is this?" but he appears to be pointing at her bare bottom, and I presume he already knows what that is.

Correction: There's nothing really to indicate a mistake here. It's readily apparent he's not asking what "this" is seriously. He's saying it to draw attention to the woman in the magazine. Alternatively, he could be asking what the magazine is, if he wasn't aware of Playboy. Yes, some people don't know what it is, especially when it was first published in the 50s.

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: On many occasions we see whole cities give way and fall into gigantic holes in the earth. So how can there possibly be a Tsunami that covers the whole planet? Much of the water would have poured into the enormous holes and and made it completely impossible.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Not so. Actually much of Earth's water is underground. In other words, the underground water is more than enough to replace the area left by cities sinking into the Earth. Which could actually contribute to the tsunami, not detract from it.

rswarrior

Most of the Earth's water is not underground, the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water, aquifers account for a small percentage of available water.

Recent studies have suggested that the amount of underground water can be 3 times as much as what is in the oceans. However, this water is trapped in damp ringwoodite, so it's not flowing water like you would find in aquifers.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: Nothing happens to the food in the "leftover" place. The food does not rot, the ice cream does not melt and they are not infested with pests like ants.

Correction: This can't possibly be a mistake. If we can accept that it is going to rain food, we have to accept that it is not going to behave as if it were normal food. The whole movie is based on this premise.

Contact (1997)

Corrected entry: Some of the world's most brilliant physicists would have been involved in the project, but when they see Ellie's capsule drop straight through to the bottom, they all dismiss the project as a failure and no one seems to back Ellie's testimonies. How could these physicists neglect to weigh up all the different possibilities? After all, they are conducting an experiment that is far beyond conventional science. Ellie herself is a brilliant scientist, so how did she neglect to check the footage recorded by her helmet cam and use it as evidence?

Correction: From the scientist's point of view, everything occured instantaneously. They thought the project was a failure precisely because it appeared the capsule dropped straight through to the bottom. Ellie's testimony could have been disregarded as a hallucination, or wishful thinking at best, especially with her talk of the alien looking like her father. As for the helmet cam, it was immediately taken from her when she was unconscious, and partially erased by those involved in the cover-up.

The Unborn (2009)

Corrected entry: When Romey notices something is wrong with Casey's eye, and when Casey goes to the doctor, the eye that is messed up changes between shots.

Correction: Both of her eyes were getting "messed up", therefore one scene showing one eye, and another shot/scene showing the other is not a mistake.

Corrected entry: When Seth's character is filling out the application to be a police officer, you can see that this took several takes by the way the pen moves, as though he wrote Seth by accident instead of Ronald.

Correction: There's nothing to indicate he wrote Seth instead of Ron or Ronald. He puts the pen to paper a couple of times, and hesitates due to his indecision to actually apply for the police, before he finally writes his last name, first name and middle initial. All in his character's names, by the way.
