Rocky V (1990)

Continuity mistake: When Rocky and Paulie are giving advice to Rocky Jr, they stop for a second in front of a foreign looking market. Then they cross the street. At that point, the market is covered in shade, and the sunlight is on the other side of the street. Seconds later, the shot changes, and the market's side of the street is suddenly the sunny side. Superman II (1980)

Continuity mistake: When Zod is considering things on the moon, look at the shot of the Earth and the Sun behind him. First, there's apparently a lunar eclipse going on. You see the Earth on the Sun's right side. Then the camera pans over, and the Earth moves over to the Sun's left.

Continuity mistake: When Mace Windu and Palpatine fight, Windu backs Palpatine into the corner of the window. Note how close Windu is to Palpatine the whole time. Then from Anakin's perspective, Windu takes a few steps toward Palpatine, his saber pointed at Palpatine. When we saw it from the earlier perspective Windu never took those three steps toward a stationary Palpatine. (01:12:50)

Titanic (1997)

Continuity mistake: When Jack shouts he is king of the world, the shadows at the bow of the ship (where Jack and Fabrizio are standing) are shorter and point to the right. On much of the rest of the ship, they are longer and the angle is very different, pointing closer to the stern. (00:32:55)

Jurassic Park (1993)

Jurassic Park mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When they first land on the island, the actors' positions change. In the interior shots, Satler is sitting to Hammond's left during the descent. When the copter door opens, Hammond is on the other side, his left side facing the door. They would not have switched places during the descent. (00:16:55 - 00:17:45)

Rent (2005)

Factual error: One of Angel's lyrics (in "Today For You, Tomorrow For Me) refers to the movie "Thelma and Louise." Rent (the movie) is set in 1989-90. "Thelma and Louise" was released in 1991. This was caused when they did the move from Broadway to the screen. The stage show did not specify the year. So when they adapted the stage show to the movie, they didn't check the references. Plus it just sounds cool. (00:28:25)

Factual error: When the world is celebrating the defeat of the visitors, it's daytime all over the planet.

Salem's Lot (1979)

Visible crew/equipment: When Mike Ryerson is alone in the basement walking around the crate, you can see the shadow cast by the camera as he walks. The shadow moves along the crate because the camera is following Mike.

The Paper (1994)

Trivia: Many of the extras on the film were actual NYC journalists (reporters, columnists, and editors). One was Donna Hanover, a former reporter who, at the time, was married to NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Skin of Evil - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: Several episodes have stardates after this episode, but still have Tasha Yar in them (even though she dies in this episode). They aired before this episode. The series producers later formalized their stardate system so that they take place in the order the episodes air.

Superman II (1980)

Continuity mistake: When the elevator falls down the shaft with Lois trapped underneath, Superman flies up to rescue her. He stops the elevator, and when he does, Lois climbs off from the bottom of the elevator and runs to hug him. Problem is, when she climbed off the bottom of the elevator, there should have been nothing but air underneath her.

Ray (2004)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning, Ray holds out a ticket for the bus driver to see. In the next shot, from behind, both Ray's hands are at his side. When the shot changes back to the front, his right hand is extended again holding the ticket.

Factual error: Tommy Molto stands up and tells Judge Lyttle that the prosecution has not been able to find a key piece of evidence: a bar glass found in the victim's apartment. The jury is present when Molto makes this statement. That would never happen in a real courtroom. The judge had not yet decided whether testimony about the glass could be offered by the prosecution, so he certainly would not want the jury to hear anything about the glass until AFTER he made that decision.

Factual error: Judge Lyttle holds several private discussions with the lawyers outside of chambers without having a court reporter present. A court reporter would always be present in such situations. The point of those private discussions is to prevent the jury from overhearing them, but they are still on the record.
