Visible crew/equipment: When Brackett and Early are in Rampart's staff lounge discussing J.P. Dumont, Brackett agrees to let Early use his charm in the case, and when Early stands up an actor's small T-mark is visible on the floor, where Brackett was standing moments earlier.Super Grover
Visible crew/equipment: At Rampart, after the baby's birth, when Gage and DeSoto walk over to Dixie, the first actor's T-mark is visible on the floor just before Gage stands there, and a second actor's mark is visible under the stool, where DeSoto will be seated in a moment.Super Grover
Visible crew/equipment: When Dixie tells the ambulance attendants to put the girl with the severed right arm in room five, just as the camera tilts down when the first attendant pulls the gurney, the black tape mark is visible on the floor where he was just standing.Super Grover
Other mistake: Station 51 responds to an "accident with injuries, " address 7526 Sunset, cross street, Abbott, to rescue two people stuck on scaffolding at the top of the tall building. This distinctive, mirrored glass building was also used this season in episode 6, "Rules of Order", with the address given as 3120 South Century, cross street, Burgess, for the rescue of two people hanging off the side of the tall structure. The actual building address is 500 190th Street, Gardena, CA.
Visible crew/equipment: When Gage and DeSoto are driving away from Rampart, discussing DeSoto's possible purchase of a new house, dispatch calls about a traffic accident. In this exterior closeup shot of Squad 51, the reflection of the camera's flatbed vehicle is visible on Squad 51's red surface.Super Grover
Visible crew/equipment: When Gage and DeSoto are stuck cleaning the squad again before the inspection, Captain Stanley walks in and the actor's T-mark is visible on the floor just before he steps on it. Additionally, when Stanley walks away, and Chet catches up to him, another T-mark is visible on the floor near the doorway.Super Grover
Revealing mistake: When Engine 51 and/or Squad 51 are dispatched, the shots of the vehicles when they are first dispatched, while en route to the call or en route to Rampart, etc, in many instances, are stock footage or repeat shots which show the same traffic, same parked cars, same people, etc., from previous episodes.Super Grover
Captain Stanley: How are you and Brice getting along?
Roy: Fine. Fine. We're getting along just fine.
Captain Stanley: Thought for a while there might be a little personality problem.
Roy: No, I can work with just about anybody. I can get along with just about anybody.
Captain Stanley: Glad to hear that.
Roy: Just might have to bust him in the mouth to do it.
Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."Super Grover
