Continuity mistake: After Johnny and Roy get back to the fire's base station and hand the looter over to Vince, when they find Grover in the pen with the other dogs, Roy checks the dog's ID tag and in the two wide shots Roy's holding it with one hand while the other hand is up on the gate, but in closeup both of Roy's hands are holding the collar and ID tag.

Continuity mistake: When Squad 51 is dispatched to the 'injury in alley', after John defibs the teenager, when he removes the diagnostic penlight from his belt holster, the kelly forceps fall out of the holster, but when he puts the penlight back into the belt holster the forceps are back in its place.
Visible crew/equipment: On site at the construction accident, when the man with the back injury is lying in the stokes and being lowered with the ladder, a crew member/cameraman is visible on the landing at the lower right side of the screen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Early and Dixie are in the treatment room with Jenny, after Early asks Jenny if she can move her legs, the moving shadow of the boom and mic are visible on the wall behind Dixie.
Continuity mistake: When Roy finds Bonnie in the back seat of the wrecked car, Paula's luggage flips itself around and upright between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: At the scene of Paula's traffic accident, when Captain Hammer stands in Engine 51's cab and tells Marco to get the reel line, the reflection of equipment and set lighting are visible in the chrome surface of driver's side spotlight.

Continuity mistake: When Roy and Johnny are with the tunnel worker who's in V-tach, the lights go out in the tunnel and Roy places one of the lanterns on the Biophone, but in closeups of the Biophone the lantern has vanished, then the lantern is back again once they've defibbed successfully.

Continuity mistake: When Roy's on the Biophone with Brackett, after telling him that Dix is one of the victims, Johnny reaches out and takes the receiver from Roy with his left hand, but in the next shot he's taken the receiver with his right hand.
The Lighter-Than-Air Man - S5-E8
Visible crew/equipment: At the scene of the bride and groom's traffic accident, when Johnny asks Crockett if he ever thought about a career as a marriage counselor, the outline of the lav mic transmitter is visible on the front of Johnny's shirt.
Visible crew/equipment: After Chet falls through the roof at the structure fire, when Truck 3 raises their ladder, we can see the cameraman/camera's shadow just as the ladder reaches the roof.

Visible crew/equipment: When Station 51 is dispatched to the structure fire at the flour company, while en route there's a closeup of Squad 51, and the reflection of the filming vehicle can be seen in the spotlight.
Continuity mistake: When Dixie is having a heart to heart talk with Karen, in the shot facing Dixie she reaches out with her left hand to take the napkin from Karen, but in the closeup it's her right hand that takes the napkin. Additionally, the napkin she takes from Karen is perfectly folded, but it was wrinkled and messy when Karen held it.
Continuity mistake: When Karen first walks into Station 51, her handbag is over her right shoulder, then over her left shoulder and back to her right shoulder again.
Continuity mistake: At the scene of the vehicle accident, when the boy is removed from the overturned car, he has a bruise near his chin that reaches below his mouth area. When he's in the ER, that bruise is now twice the size and reaches his cheek area.
Continuity mistake: When Roy and Johnny climb the electrical tower to rescue the sky diver, in the closeups Johnny hangs onto the diagonal cross beam when he reaches out to Lucky, but in the wide shot the stunt double hangs onto the tower's main vertical frame when he reaches out to Lucky.
Continuity mistake: It's Squad 39 at the construction site with the cardiac victim, but en route to Rampart we see Squad 51 following the ambulance.
Answer: It is standard practice to wet down driveways so that they stand out in a long shot.
