Emergency!

Show Biz - S2-E3

Corrected entry: When the calendar producer is at the station meeting Gage and Desoto, he says "Nice to meet you, Kevin" (the actor's real name) instead of "Roy."

Melinda Morgan

Correction: When Billy Zimmer is introduced to Roy and John, what he actually says is, "Gentlemen, how do you do."

Show generally

Corrected entry: Gage, DeSoto, and the crew are called to a serious truck/car fire accident scene, and are busy with putting the car fire out, while Gage helps DeSoto tend the wounded victims. The sky is overcast and cloudy, indicating rain possibly earlier in the day. This overcast remains during the hose-down. However, immediately after the fire is extinquished and both vehicles put out, the victims stabilized by ambulance, suddenly the day changes to bright sunlight and blue sky as Chief is calling in the OK.

Correction: Believe it or not, the weather can change that quickly in the Los Angeles basin. In late spring/early summer, an offshore marine layer often covers many locations near the coast with deep overcast overnight until late morning, when it can disappear very quickly - certainly in the hour or so it would take to put out a relatively small fire.

Women - S2-E9

Corrected entry: The sick child Dr. Joe and Dr. Mike are examining is supposed to be fatally poisoned, but his head changes position twice during subsequent shots.

Correction: If the child is only sick at the time, then, even if incurably poisoned, it doesn't stop them moving their head until they're actually dead.

The Indirect Method - S5-E6

Factual error: When Roy is electrocuted and falls from the roof, after Karen uses the defibrillator paddles on Roy, she lifts both paddles, looks at the EKG monitor and says "He's converted." How exactly could Karen have known that he's converted? It's impossible for the EKG monitor to show anything at all. Either the defib paddles have be in contact with Roy's body for the “quick-look” to get a reading, which they weren't, or the ECG electrode discs have to be on Roy's chest connecting him to the EKG monitor, and they weren't. As an aside, just watching Marco having problems attaching the air mask, and quickly glancing up towards the camera frustrated, then giving up is priceless.

The Nuisance - S5-E24

Captain Stanley: How are you and Brice getting along?
Roy: Fine. Fine. We're getting along just fine.
Captain Stanley: Thought for a while there might be a little personality problem.
Roy: No, I can work with just about anybody. I can get along with just about anybody.
Captain Stanley: Glad to hear that.
Roy: Just might have to bust him in the mouth to do it.

The Game - S6-E1

Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."
