Continuity mistake: When Joey activates the Celebration of Creation trap card, Rex continues to attack with his monster. In the shot after Joey asks, "What makes you think I'm using this card on your dragon?", there is a shot of the dragon advancing towards Joey before it is stopped, where Joey's right arm is extended to the right. When the shot cuts, his right arm is bent at the elbow and his forearm is raised. (00:05:25)

Continuity mistake: When Tristan runs over to Rex after the duel has ended, he lifts him up and places his right hand over Rex's left arm. Then there is a shot focusing on Rex, but in the shot after that, Tristan's right hand is suddenly placed on the left side of Rex's abdomen. (00:12:23)

Continuity mistake: When Weevil shows the card that he claims will free Yugi's soul, he is wearing a duel disk on his left forearm. When he goes to tear the card in half, the duel disk has disappeared from his forearm. The duel disk reappears seconds later. (00:14:55)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi is looking at his Dark Magician Girl card, his index finger and middle finger are straight. When it cuts to a close-up of the card, his index finger and middle finger are bent. (00:19:25)

Continuity mistake: When Joey tells Tristan and Devlin that Yugi is brainwashed, the three of them are standing side by side. Two shots later, there is a shot from behind the three of them, where Tristan and Devlin are suddenly behind Joey. (00:11:45)
Continuity mistake: When Dartz is explaining to Rafael and Alister that they got Yugi's soul instead of the Pharaoh's, there is a shot where Rafael asks, "But how?" In the shot, Alister is standing behind Rafael. When the shot cuts, Alister is standing ahead of Rafael. (00:07:45)
Continuity mistake: When Mokuba is talking to Kaiba in his office, there is a phone cord hanging over the left-hand side of the desk. Later in the scene, after Kaiba gets off the call with the main characters, the cord is now hanging over the rear side of the desk. The phone also moves closer to the front side of the desk. Continuity mistake: When Weevil throws a can at the bin, nothing can be seen around the bin aside from the lid. In the next shot, small pieces of rubbish can be seen next to the lid. (00:16:38)

Continuity mistake: When Professor Hawkins is looking over the photos of ancient paintings, there is a close-up shot of the photos where he places a magnifying glass over them. In the close-up, there is a book next to the photos. A few seconds later, the book is suddenly partially placed over the photos. (00:08:50)

Continuity mistake: When Rafael throws the two axes at the post supporting the bridge, the first axe lands several inches below the rope tied around the middle of the post. When the bridge collapses, both of the axes are positioned above the rope tied around the middle of the post. (00:03:59)

Revealing mistake: While talking with Rafael shortly before the duel, there is a shot of Rafael saying, "Look, the name's Rafael and I called you here to duel," where Yugi is standing in the foreground of the shot.
