Suggested correction: Morgan doesn't ask what song on that album would speak to an insomniac, he asks what Metallica song in general would. He says, and I quote, "Okay, so I'm an insomniac who listens to Metallica to get to sleep. What song could possibly speak to me?" His query is in regards to the band's discography as a whole; neither he nor Reid mention a specific album, so the fact that "Some Kind of Monster" is the CD that they find is, ultimately, irrelevant.

Cubs Fan

The team was looking for what CD Slessman listened to the most to figure out what his password could be. They had no luck going through all his metal collection. The clue was suppose to be Slessman listened to "Some Kind of Monster" CD the most to help him sleep, which is why it wasn't in the case.

Bishop73

As Bishop73 says, its implied that Some Kind Of Monster is played most. And so the hint would be one of those tracks. But as stated in the mistake, Enter Sandman isn't on that album.

Ssiscool

Correction: At impulse speeds, there would be no visible indication of movement as they're in open space.

This is incorrect. In-universe has shown the difference between a moving ship and stationary ship, even open space.

Bishop73

Exactly what is this difference you're referring to? If a ship is moving at sub-light speeds with only stars visible it is impossible to tell how fast it is moving, or even if it is moving. The only movement visible would be that imparted by the difference in movements of the camera and ship. (In fact, they create of the illusion of the ship speeding by by moving the camera past a stationary ship.) This is reality. If there is an error, it is the fact that the stars can be seen moving outside the hanger bay door which would indicate the ship was slowly rotating.

Corrected entry: General Hoyt is shown as a five star General, and he makes reference to it. However, this rank did not exist in 1962. The last person to hold this rank was Omar Bradley in 1950.

wizard_of_gore

Correction: The rank of General of the Army (5-Star general) still exists, it's simply that no one has been given that rank since General Bradley. But as a fictitious character, there is nothing wrong with General Hoyt obtaining the rank simply because no one else has. Though some may say the rank was retired in the 80's after Bradley's death, there have been a few who were considered for the rank in modern times, such as Powell and Schwarzkopf.

Samaritan Snare - S2-E17

Corrected entry: In the shuttle Picard picks up the plate of sandwiches with his left hand while holding a cup with the right. After Wesley takes a sandwich, the camera cuts back to Picard, who has the plate in his right hand, and no cup to be seen.

Correction: Picard never holds a plate of sandwiches and a cup. He has the plate of sandwiches in his left hand and a 2nd, empty plate in his right hand. He gives the empty plate to Wesley as Wesley takes a sandwich. Picard then transfers the plate of sandwiches to his other hand so he can take a sandwich with his left hand.

Bishop73

Q Who? - S2-E16

Continuity mistake: In the Shuttle, Q's hair is arranged in bangs on his forehead. A split second later in Ten Forward, his hair is up and back from his forehead in the familiar style.

Suggested correction: Q's powers has shown in the past that he can change his looks in an instance, as well as his location and anyone else he chooses. This is precisely what happens here.

The Lost Reindeer - S14-E11

Corrected entry: Jayse, the reindeer owner, states that reindeer are indigenous only to Iceland. Dead wrong, reindeer also exist in northern north America and Canada, as well as in northern Europe and northern Asia. (00:10:00)

Budoshi

Correction: That's not what he says, nor means. He said the snow reminds the reindeer of Iceland, "the only place you can find real reindeer." But this would be like a New Yorker saying "New York is the only place you can get real pizza." He simply feels Icelandic reindeer are the real thing and everything else is a subspecies of Caribou.

Bishop73

Correction: She does say that, however she says it prior to Riker cooking the eggs. For whatever reason she may have been expecting omelettes and he simply made scrambled eggs. If she had said after seeing the scrambled eggs, it could be considered a mistake.

Bishop73

The Royale - S2-E12

Corrected entry: When Data is trying to talk to the elderly lady playing the slots, she is dropping coins and pulling the arm in much too rapid a fashion to allow the wheels to come to a stop. Also, she's continuing the motions as you hear the machine paying out.

Movie Nut

Correction: The Royale is not a real place with real people or real slot machines. It was created by an alien race with one dimensional characters and the old woman is just a cliché background character that doesn't interact with anyone. Her actions are completely constant with a poorly written book being interpreted by aliens (such as "an old woman wasting time playing the slots, pulling the handle over and over until she wins and never stopping after.").

Where Silence Has Lease - S2-E2

Corrected entry: Deanna is originally sitting on the bridge when they approach the zone of darkness, but after Picard tells Wesley to take them in, in the next wide shot Deanna disappears entirely and doesn't reappear throughout the rest of the scene - she only reappears much later when Riker and Worf return.

Correction: Wesley also says it will take 12 minutes to intercept the "hole." When Picard says let's launch a probe, Deanna is already gone. Picard then says this is close enough, indicating they've intercepted it. So almost 12 minutes have passed, plenty of time for Deanna to leave the bridge for a number of reasons that are simply not addressed on screen.

The Big Goodbye - S1-E12

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode after delivering his complex greeting to the Jarada, Picard and Riker head for the Turbo lift. Just as they are about to enter, Picard opens his mouth really wide as if making a funny face to someone inside the turbolift or maybe quietly celebrating a 'successful take' given the bizarre nature of the greeting! Although it was filmed from the side it is quite easy to spot.

Correction: Picard doesn't do anything close to that in this episode. He does however do something exactly as described in the later episode "Too Short a Season", an entry for which already exists.

Correction: This must be from an outtake or alternate scene, and since it's not included in the actual show isn't "eligible" for a mistake entry (not that there's anything wrong with Picard smiling). In the episode as it was aired, at the end of the episode, after the greeting, Picard and Riker do not go to the turbolift, they sit down. However, we do see Picard smirk when he turns to the side, but also everyone on the bridge claps for him and when he turns, he's still smiling.

Suggested correction: It is true that in later seasons he is unable to use contractions. However, since that characteristic was not introduced in the first season, this is not a mistake. His behavior is consistent with the character's behavior throughout the first season.

It's still a possible mistake, even if it wasn't part of season 1 scripting. Just because we only learn later that Data doesn't use contractions, doesn't make this mistake invalid. We learn Data was specifically constructed that way and hadn't been able to use contraction since being created, which means all of season 1 he shouldn't be using contractions. Although it would probably be best to submit it as a mistake in season 2 when it's mentioned that it contradicts what was established.

Bishop73

Incorrect. It would be a mistake if he used a contraction after the trait was added to his character, but the mistake can't be retroactive as it wasn't a mistake for him to use it at that point in the show.

Datalore - S1-E13

Character mistake: At the end of the episode, after Lore has been defeated, Picard asks Data if he is O.K. Data replies, "I'm fine." One of the plot points of this episode is that Data cannot use contractions.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: That characteristic was not added to the character until season two. In the first season, Data uses contractions on a number of occasions.

Bishop73

It would only be a mistake if he used the contraction after the trait was established for the character.

Possibly, but that's not how mistakes on this site work seem to work. It could still be a valid mistake in the context of the entire show since the character trait had in fact been established. It's the same way for when shows do something like establish a character's birth-date in later seasons, but when episodes from earlier season have the character at the wrong age. Although it would probably be best to submit it as a mistake in season 2 when it's mentioned that it contradicts what was established.

Daredevil (2015)

Speak of the Devil - S1-E9

Corrected entry: Matt is fighting a white guy with a hat in an alley - he breaks his arm and the guy drops heroin bundles. During a quick shot change the white guy is all of a sudden black, with no hat. Then he's a white guy again. (00:17:50)

Correction: That's not what the scene shows. It was Daredevil fighting 3 different guys as he tries to gather information, similar to a montage scene. He's also at 3 different locations. Plus, the first white guy had no hat and it's the black guy that drops the heroin.

Moana (2016)

Corrected entry: Maui is depicted creating the world of humans by puling the islands from the sea and lassoing the sun to create day, but later on the boat the tattoo on his back says that he had human parents who threw him to the sea.

Correction: He's never depicted as creating humans, earth, or the day. He even sings "who pulled up the sky when you were yay high?" Meaning humans existed when he was doing his demigod thing. Everything he did was to make humans like him. He pulled islands from the sea to give them homes and he says lassoed the sun to stretch the day to bring humans fun (he simply made the day longer).

Continuum (2012)

Final Hour - S4-E6

Corrected entry: In the last episode after Cameron travels forward in time, Kagame says he remembers Liber8 from Uncle Julian's stories of when he was younger, indicating that Cameron et. al were successful in changing the present. Then at the fountain scene she sees her son. When current (aka old) Alec holds her back, the immediate assumption is that the time change also changed who Cameron's son's mother was. But then Alec explains that everyone thought she died the day of the accident at the execution, insinuating that Cameron's husband remarried and that this woman was Cameron's son's step-mom. The plot hole exists in that if there was no modern Liber8 there would not have been an execution or accident (time travel) in the first place, so there would be no reason for anyone to think Cameron had died. In fact, had she been successful and managed to come back at essentially the same day/time as she left, no one other than Alec would have known she left since it would not have seemed that she was gone at all.

Correction: You've misunderstood everything Alec tells Kiera. Alec said they (Alec, Carlos, etc) thought Kiera died the day they sent her to the future, he was not talking about the explosion during the execution. Alec, Carlos, and Julian then dedicated themselves to making a better world. There ended up being no corporate congress and no terrorist organization. Liber8 didn't exist in the future (and this Kagame we see was never a terrorist) and there was never an execution or explosion. The woman Kiera sees with her son is Kiera herself, but an alternative timeline Kiera who was born into the new, more peaceful world who never joined the military or CPS (since it was never created). Alec stops Kiera from seeing her son since his mother never died. While one can argue the whole paradox of the situation, it's beyond the scope of a plot hole since time travel into the past isn't real and we don't know what would happen, and the show already showed that altering the past doesn't directly effect people from the future who are in the past when Matthew Kellog's grandmother was killed.

Rabbit Hole - S5-E10

Corrected entry: The DEA agent shows his DEA badge on his belt to Antonio and Hailey. However, the DEA badge shown is silver with the eagle's head pointing to the left. An actual DEA badge is gold and the eagle's head points to the right. (00:12:00)

Snag.1

Correction: All the DEA badges I've seen have the eagles head pointing to the left. And DEA Task Force agents have silver badges. Gold is Special Agent.

Elementary (2012)

Show generally

Corrected entry: So many times Watson goes places with clothes that are tight and with no visible pockets. Then, she suddenly has dark glasses on and travels from one place to another or walks into her house. No purse, no keys, no money? Just weird that she travels all across the city with absolutely nothing in her hands.

Correction: You need to at least mention a specific scene where this occurs so it can be verified. And just because clothes are tight doesn't mean they don't have pockets.

The Good Son (1993)

Corrected entry: In the cliff scene, Susan says, "Hold on Edward!" Her son's name is Henry and her nephew's name is Mark. (01:20:00)

Correction: She's grunting, but she definitely says "hold on, Henry." She also says "hang on to me."

Wrong Turn (2003)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, the Mustang has a PA plate on the front and back. PA only requires one plate and it's on the back.

Correction: That's a minimum requirement. The law doesn't say you can't have a plate on the front as well.

Phixius

When states require only 1 plate, they do not issue 2 plates.

Child's Play (1988)

Corrected entry: After Karen comes home following Maggie's death, she first meets the detective who first assures her Andy was not a suspect (by saying none of his shoes match and why would Andy be on the counter?) Suddenly the detective fully points the guilt towards Andy saying "If Andy didn't make the footprints then WHO?" Basically, he contradicts himself.

Correction: Mike (Detective Norris) never said Andy wasn't a suspect. In fact when Karen asked what he was implying he said "I don't know." (He also says what would Andy be doing on the counter, not why). Mike said none of the shoes in Andy's closet matched, but when he saw Andy in his pj's he asked what was on his feet. It was the Good Guy pj sneakers Andy was wearing that seemed to match the footprints, since it's also what Chucky wears.
