Continuity mistake: During Theodred's funeral, as the bearers of the body lower Theodred off their shoulders, there's a close-up of the soles of Theodred's shoes. As Éowyn starts singing, the body's being passed towards the tomb. There's now another close-up of the soles of Theodred's shoes. The marks on the soles, of the right shoe in particular, are quite different in both shots. The helmet doesn't block the view of the soles on the shoes in either shot. (01:24:45)

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers mistake picture

Continuity mistake: After the shot of Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli riding towards Edoras, there's a close-up of Theodred. In this shot there is a red pillow next to Theodred's face on his right. In the wide shot behind Éowyn, there is no red pillow to the right of his face. Though there is in this shot a white pillow corner leaning on the headboard, that is not in the previous front wide shot. The fur cover at the foot of the bed lies differently in the front and back wide shots too. (01:13:35)

Peter Pan (2003)

Deliberate mistake: When Wendy and John are play duelling in their bedroom, in the first shot, John holds the sword in his left hand, but in the next shot, the sword is in his right hand when he hits the bookcase. The second shot is flipped, as we can see by the furniture arrangement and the medal on John's jacket that also switched sides. (00:01:50)

Continuity mistake: At Edoras, as Wormtongue sits on Theodred's bed speaking to Éowyn, she says, "Leave me alone, snake!" As she stands we see Wormtongue's back, and the fur covers draped over Theodred's legs and all around the foot of the bed. In the next close-up of Wormtongue, he says, "Oh but you are alone," we see Theodred's legs slanted and no fur cover, just the white cover. Cut away to a shot of Éowyn, then back to Wormtongue, and the white cover on Theodred is lying differently on him and some of the fur cover is now seen. Wormtongue did not change positions between shots. (01:14:15)

Continuity mistake: At Edoras, after the first close-up shot of Éowyn kneeling at the bedside of Theodred, there is a front wide shot. In that shot the animal skin rugs going around the bed differ in position from the next wide shot behind Éowyn. Note especially, the rugs at the foot of the bed on the opposite side of Éowyn. Continuity mistake: Having seen the attack on the Haradrim, Frodo says, "Come on, Sam," and he is seized by one of Faramir's men. In the next shot, Sam is getting up off his right knee, that having been the place where they were lying and hiding to see the Haradrim and Mûmakil. The edge shown in this shot has green plants growing alongside, and the bush to the right of the edge is also very different than earlier shots. This edge does not look anything like the two different edges shown, in the earlier shots of them leaning over. This is now the third edge being offered. (01:45:05)

Continuity mistake: Faramir hits one of the Haradrim riding the Mûmak with an arrow and he falls. As he hits the ground, in the background are Frodo and Sam. Sam's cloak is not draped over his left shoulder in this shot. In the very next close-up, Sam's cloak is draped over both shoulders. (01:44:55)

Continuity mistake: While looking at the Haradrim, in this first front shot Frodo says, "We've got to get moving. Come on, Sam," Frodo starts to back away and rise. Sam grabs his hand and pulls him, saying, "Mr Frodo," and Frodo's position is farther behind Sam. In the next back shot Sam and Frodo are lying evenly, side by side. Then in the next front shot as Sam says, "It's an Oliphaunt," Frodo's position is behind Sam and he is crouched higher than him too. (01:43:45)

Continuity mistake: Frodo lies down to look at the Southrons. Sam and Gollum come close, and crouch alongside him. In these first two shots, the ground beneath them is uneven, has patches of green grass, bramble, and some small green leaves near Frodo's fingers. After a cutaway, in the next shot of Frodo, Sam and Gollum, they are lying on even ground with yellow dry flat grass. Then Sam says, "No one at home would believe this," and the ground is now the same as in the first shot. (01:43:00)

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Faramir and his men capture Frodo and Sam, and Sam is thrown to the ground. In these shots, Sam's cloak is lying straight under him, as can be seen when he says, "Wait. We're innocent travelers." When one of Faramir's men grabs Sam's shirt to pull him up, his cloak is lying on the ground, up near his shoulder out to his right. Sam has not moved, Faramir's man had a blade to his throat. (01:45:15)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: Faramir captures Sam and Frodo. Faramir goes over to the dead body, and says, "His sense of duty was no less than yours, I deem," and rolls over one of the Haradrim with his foot. The dead man is lying with his face towards the ground. In the earlier shot, when he fell off the Mûmak and landed behind Frodo and Sam, the right side of his face is lying on the ground. It is the same man in both shots. (01:44:55 - 01:45:40)

Revealing mistake: Sam says "There's only one way to eat a brace of coneys" and in the next close-up, Sam stirs the stew. The rolled up blanket is behind the hanging pot, which means it's on Sam's right. In the next three shots, Sam's pack is behind the pot, not the rolled blanket, to Sam's right. Then, in the next close-up of the pot, it's the very same close-up shot as before, only it's been flipped, and the rolled blanket is there, near the pot again, this time to Sam's left. (01:41:40)

Continuity mistake: Just as Will jumps on the rail of the Pearl with the gun, in the back shot, his right hand holding onto the rope is shoulder level and wind is blowing his hair towards his face. In the next few front shots, his right hand holds the rope between sternum and waist level and his hair is not blowing at all. Then in the next back shot, once again his hand is at shoulder level on the rope, and the wind is blowing his hair towards his face. (01:31:25)

Continuity mistake: Boromir is blowing the Horn of Gondor, Aragorn is running to him, fighting Uruk-Hai on the way. At one point he stabs one through the stomach and is chased closely by three Uruk-Hai. When he slices another in the leg and then the neck, the three chasing closely behind him aren't in these two shots. They were too close to Aragorn not to be seen in those two shots. (01:22:05)

Continuity mistake: In Rivendell, when Bilbo gives Frodo Sting, as he's unwrapping the sword from the cloth, in the close-up he spreads the cloth out flat on the bench in front of the bed. In the next shots, as he shows and then gives Sting, the cloth is wrinkled up on the bench. (Time appropriate for second disc.) (00:01:10)

Continuity mistake: At the Council of Elrond, when Merry and Pippin run up and yell, "We're coming too. You'll have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us!" Elrond's eye contact does not line up with the Hobbits, as they run past him towards Frodo. Then in the Hobbits' close-up, their height reaches just under Gandalf's and Legolas' shoulders, but in the wide shot the Hobbits are much, much, shorter. (01:44:50)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring mistake picture

Continuity mistake: At the Council of Elrond, when Gimli says, "I will be dead before I see the ring in the hands of an Elf!" in the close-up shot the two Elves on the sides of Legolas stand up. In the next wide shot the Elf on Legolas' right is just getting up. (01:42:45)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the Council of Elrond, the first time Frodo says, "I will take it," in the back shot of Gandalf as he argues with Boromir there is a grey cloaked Elf behind him. In the next front wide shot of Gandalf, the green cloaked Elf stands behind him to his right. As Frodo repeats, "I will take it," then says, "I will take the Ring to Mordor," Gandalf turns around and the grey cloaked Elf is behind him. The Council scene took five days to shoot and there were many different variations of the same shots. (01:43:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the Council of Elrond, as Frodo puts the Ring on the stone table, the bottom of both sides of Legolas' cloak are on his knees. As Gandalf says, "For the Black Speach of Mordor, may yet be heard," the bottom right of Legolas' cloak is between his legs. As Boromir says, "Long has my father, the Steward of Gondor, kept the forces of Mordor at bay," the bottom right of Legolas' cloak is now at his side. When Aragorn says, "You can not wield it, none of us can," the bottom right of Legolas' cloak is between his legs. Just before Legolas rises to say, "This is no mere Ranger," the bottom of both sides of Legolas' cloak are on his knees again. (01:37:55)
