The Fastidious Wife - S8-E14

Continuity mistake: While standing in front of the church, when Corabeth gives Cindy the ridiculous book Corabeth is wearing black gloves on both hands, but in the shots facing Cindy as she tries to refuse that book, we see Corabeth's hand gestures at the right side of the screen, and that hand is bare. The Last Straw - S8-E20

Visible crew/equipment: After John has the mishap with his lumber delivery on the road it cuts to him sitting at the table with the family, and while they discuss Jim-Bob's tattoo, as the camera is dollying out a crew member and lighting equipment become visible at the left side of the screen, and then again in a following shot. The Carousel - S9-E11

Deliberate mistake: After Elizabeth goes upstairs with the pillowcases for Cindy, in the following shots there are a few long shots of Colonel Brunson's car on the road, and a couple of those shots are flipped - noticeable due to identical trees shown the opposite way. (00:03:55)

The Carousel - S9-E11

Other mistake: When Jim-Bob comes home unexpectedly while Drew is over, this scene takes place in the boys' bedroom. In the interior shot, when Jim-Bob tells Drew to douse the light Drew gets up and turns off the light in the boys' bedroom, then it cuts to the exterior shot which specifically shows their window going dark as the light is being turned off by Drew. The problem is in this exterior shot we are seeing the light go out in John-Boy's bedroom (where Mary Ellen resides with the baby), not the boys' bedroom. (00:26:00)

The Hot Rod - S9-E12

Continuity mistake: When Ike and the Baldwin sisters prepare to enter the "secret" room, in the shot from the foyer Miss Emily lights two new tall candles and they walk through the room's doorway. Then it cuts to inside the room as they all enter through the doorway, but both candles are now significantly shorter. (00:16:25)

The Outrage: Part 1 - S9-E1

Factual error: When Toni and John-Boy make a bet about who will locate Jason first John-Boy is holding a book, and just as they agree to the loser buying a bottle of champagne, this book's author and title are visible on the spine. That book is "A Pocketful of Rye" written by A. J. Cronin, and published in 1969, though this episode takes place in 1945. (00:30:35)

The Move - S9-E8

Visible crew/equipment: While the family starts packing up their car with John's suitcases and boxes, right after John says, "I just don't want any kind of a big scene," a cluster of boom mics dip into view and stays there at the top of the screen, over Mary Ellen and Jason. Then in the closeup, as John agrees that they will all go see Olivia, a crew member wearing a blue shirt (with a front pocket) is visible in the vehicle's window reflection. (00:44:40)

The Hot Rod - S9-E12

Continuity mistake: When John-Boy, Jason, and Ben share the Recipe with Jim-Bob for a celebration, John-Boy sits on the bed directly below the picture of the biplane fighters (seen in three shots), but each time it cuts to the shots facing Jim-Bob we see in the mirror's reflection that it's Jason sitting below that picture, and John-Boy is further up on the bed. The Threshold - S9-E17

Character mistake: When John-Boy reads the nursery rhyme "Simple Simon" to his nephew, John-Boy points to the colorful illustrations in this book and tells John Curtis, "See, that's Simple Simon, he's a bear." This is incorrect. In the illustrations, Simple Simon is a donkey, and it's the pieman who is a bear (he's wearing a chef's hat and apron). (00:40:50)
