Best of Friends, Best of Duelists, Part 2 - S1-E34
Continuity mistake: When Joey draws Baby Dragon from his deck, there is a split screen shot of Joey smirking at Yugi. In this shot, the card is held at a tilted angle. But in a wide shot, the card is held at an upright angle. (00:12:35)
Best of Friends, Best of Duelists, Part 2 - S1-E34
Continuity mistake: Joey summons Garoozis to the field in an attempt to get Dark Magician to attack it. After finishing his turn, Tea, Tristan, and Bakura discuss the move, and when Bakura says, "Which would let Joey counterattack with his black skull," Garoozis has disappeared from the field. (00:05:20 - 00:05:58)
Best of Friends, Best of Duelists, Part 2 - S1-E34
Continuity mistake: When Tristan says "That may have been Joey's last shot," Tea has her right hand at her side. In the next shot, her right forearm is raised. (00:04:47)
Keith's Machinations, Part 2 - S1-E32
Other mistake: When Baby Dragon evolves into Thousand Dragon, the monster's defence points are 2500. However, Thousand Dragon only has 2000 defence points. (00:06:30)
Keith's Machinations, Part 1 - S1-E31
Continuity mistake: Just after Metalzoa is destroyed, when Joey says "Not bad, huh, I only wish you could've seen the look on your face when that Metalzoa of yours gets shish-kebabed," he has three cards in his hand. Then on Joey's next turn, he places a trap card face down, then summons a monster card (both of which were cards from his hand), but when Joey and Keith's life point counts are shown after Keith's next turn, there are at least four cards in Joey's hand. (00:16:03 - 00:17:49)
Keith's Machinations, Part 1 - S1-E31
Revealing mistake: After Yugi says, "I think Joey might have found a glitch in those machine monsters," the shot cuts to Joey. On Joey's duel mat, there are three cards that appear to be missing the illustrations. (00:16:22)
Keith's Machinations, Part 1 - S1-E31
Revealing mistake: When Joey is running back to his room to search for the key card, there is a shot of him running down the hallway, but the background doesn't appear to match his bodily movements. He is shown running at fast speed, with his body positioned in the centre of the frame during the shot, but the background is shown pulling back at a slow speed, even though the background should be pulling back much quicker for it to be consistent with Joey's running. (00:04:46)
Keith's Machinations, Part 1 - S1-E31
Revealing mistake: When Pegasus starts applauding, everyone turns to face him. There is a shot focusing on Yugi, with the other main characters standing in the background. Their faces appear to be drawn poorly, having little to no facial features, with only a few small dots for eyes. (00:01:21)
Duel Identity, Part II - S1-E30
Continuity mistake: When Yugi draws the monster card Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress from his deck, he has two fingers against the back of the card, which are pressed against each other. In a close-up of the card, there is suddenly a gap in between the two fingers. (00:14:22)
Duel Identity, Part II - S1-E30
Other mistake: When Mai tells Yugi, "You just made your final mistake," it cuts to an overview shot where Yugi's life point count is 1350, even though at this point in the duel it should be 300. (00:06:03)
Duel Identity, Part II - S1-E30
Revealing mistake: When Yugi and Pharaoh have a brief heart-to-heart, it cuts back to the duel field with a shot from behind Yugi saying, "Maybe you're right." At this moment, the cards Yugi is holding are missing the illustrations. (00:05:02)
Duel Identity, Part II - S1-E30
Other mistake: When Mai starts explaining why she lost to Joey, two copies of the trap card Shadow of Eyes and two copies of the monster card Harpie Lady can be seen on her duel mat, even though she has only played one of each. (00:02:57)
Duel Identity, Part I - S1-E29
Other mistake: When Mai activates Rose Whip to raise Harpie Lady's attack points, the points are shown going from 2100 up to 2400. Harpie Lady had 1300 attack points and then gained 500 attack points from when Mai activated the spell card Cyber Shield earlier in the duel, so at this point, Harpie Lady should have had 1800 attack points, and then gone up to 2100. This is corrected to 2100 attack points every other time the points are displayed. (00:14:00)
Duel Identity, Part I - S1-E29
Other mistake: When Yugi draws Summoned Skull from his deck, the spell card Rose Whip can be seen on the display of Mai's cards on the field in front of him. However, she doesn't activate this card until later in the episode. (00:08:45 - 00:14:00)
Duel Identity, Part I - S1-E29
Other mistake: When Yugi summons Summoned Skull, the defence points are displayed as 2300. Summoned Skull has 1200 defence points every other time it is shown. (00:09:07)
Continuity mistake: When Solomon says, "Every soul he traps in the shadow realm increases his strength," the card of Solomon that Yugi is holding is held with two hands in the close-up shot but only one hand when the shot cuts. (00:10:18)
Revealing mistake: When Tristan finds the rope, it is wrapped around two hooks on a wall. In the shot of Tristan removing the rope from the hooks, there is a minor animation error, where some of the rope loops are drawn in front of the hooks instead of behind them. (00:08:55)
Continuity mistake: When Yugi and Mai realise they are going to be duelling each other, whilst Yugi is saying "Looks like it's you and me, Mai," he is holding the piece of paper with the letter A. At first, his hand appears to be covering the entirety of the bottom side of the paper. In the next shot, the left bottom side of the paper is uncovered. (00:03:00)
Continuity mistake: At the dinner table, there is a knife, fork, and spoon placed on a napkin in front of Yugi. In the shot focusing on Yugi and Mae, the utensils are placed over the entirety of the napkin. A couple of seconds later, when everyone says "huh" after being told about the entry cards, the utensils only appear to be placed over half of the napkin. (00:01:21)
Continuity mistake: When the finalists are being congratulated, in the wide shot, Yugi and Mai are two feet apart from each other. When it cuts to a closer shot of them, they (and the food and drinks on their side of the table) are closer together. (00:01:17)
