Seconds later, when Yugi is wondering why he would play such a weak monster, there is a brief moment where the Rogue Doll card on Umbra's duel disk is shaded orange (indicating that it is an Effect Monster). Continuity mistake: When Tea and Mokuba are stacking the boxes leading up to the ceiling window, in the establishing shot, there is a fair distance between the boxes and the ceiling window. In the next shot, the boxes are suddenly much closer to the ceiling window. (00:08:15)
Other mistake: On Lumis' turn, after Kaiba attacks with Blue-Eyes White Dragon, he places one monster face down in defence mode and sets two cards. When he does this, he is shown placing the monster card on his duel disk, but his hand never moves afterwards. The other two cards are set without him moving his hand. (00:05:25)
Revealing mistake: When Solomon is tending to Mokuba in the hospital, there is a wide shot where he walks over to a sink. The sink is reflected in a mirror on the wall, but the tap appears to be smaller in the reflection compared to the tap shown on the sink. (00:08:41)
Character mistake: Just before Yugi summons Kuriboh, he says, "I'll place one card face down," but is then shown placing the Kuriboh card on his duel disk. Then he says, "I will summon Kuriboh," but is shown placing a card face down in one of the spell/trap card slots. (00:04:44)
Other mistake: When Yugi draws the Beast of Gilfer card, there is a shot focusing on Yugi, which then pulls out to reveal Kaiba looking at him. In the shot, the Magnet Warrior card can be seen on Yugi's duel disk in attack mode, even though it should be in defence mode. This monster remains in attack mode for the rest of the duel. (00:03:35)
Continuity mistake: When Lumis says to Yugi, "As soon as your life points reach zero," the life point count can be seen on Yugi's duel disk. The number 4000 appears to cover the entirety of the small screen displaying the life point count. But in a close-up of the small screen, there appears to be an inch on both the left and right-hand sides of the screen that the life point count doesn't cover. (00:03:20)
Other mistake: When Yugi suspects that the card Lumis placed face down is a trap card, the spell card Mask of the Accursed that Lumis just activated can be seen in the monster card zone on Yugi's duel disk. This card should not be in the monster card zone as it is a spell card and should be in the spell/trap card slots. (00:03:03)
Character mistake: When Kaiba summons Vorse Raider, he places the monster card face down on his duel disk, instead of face up, which is what he should do if he wants to summon a monster to the field. (00:17:28)
Character mistake: When Umbra activates Masked Doll, he says, "My Masked Doll will absorb any and all negative effects caused by my magic card." When he says "my magic card," he is referring to Mask of Brutality; however, he didn't activate this card. Lumis was the one who activated Mask of Brutality. (00:16:39)
Other mistake: When Umbra says "as I activate a magic card called Masked Doll," a spell/magic card can be seen in the monster card zone on his duel disk and not in the spell/trap card slots where it should be. Also, the card appears to be Mask of Brutality, which was activated by Lumis and not him. (00:16:32)
Continuity mistake: At the end of Yugi's first turn, he thinks to himself, "Hopefully, by then, I can pick up on their strategies." At this moment, Umbra has his right arm at his side. In the next shot, his right arm is raised, and his hand is suddenly holding onto a card. (00:15:39)
Continuity mistake: Just before the duel starts, Yugi and Kaiba activate their duel disks. In the shot of Yugi raising his arm and activating his duel disk, Kaiba can be seen in the background with his arm raised and his duel disk activated. Then there is a wide shot of the characters on the roof; Yugi and Kaiba's arms are suddenly by their sides. (00:14:28)

Revealing mistake: Just after Joey's life points go down to 500 and Tea says, "You can do it, this duel isn't over yet, you're one step away from the Battle City finals, Joey," it cuts to a shot of Joey breathing, whilst the shot pans up his body. In the shot, the life point display on his duel disk appears to be vibrating and not holding still. (00:11:52)
