Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Other mistake: On 9/26/03, there was a quick montage of all the suspects in Abe's shooting superimposed on a shot of the comatose Commander Carver. It had been well established that the seven suspects were Kate, Lucas, Sami, Tony, Rex, Victor, and Nicole. However, Lucas was missing from the montage.

Deliberate mistake: When the saloon patrons pour through the swinging doors in pursuit of Packer, the same people are seen repeatedly. A relatively small number of extras are running around to the rear of the set and re-entering through the back so that they will appear to be a larger crowd of people.

Deliberate mistake: When Swan sings "Let's Build a Snowman," the snowman looks like your basic run-of-the-mill snowman in almost all of the shots. However, there is one long shot where the snowman's head is much narrower, and looks suspiciously like the alien "visitors" from South Park. [If you watch the DVD with the director's commentary, Trey Parker and others admit to putting aliens in random shots of the movie. It is during the bar fight when they say this, right as a shadow of an alien is on the wall behind the actors. This was done on purpose.]

Revealing mistake: When Alferd runs from the saloon with a lynch mob behind him, we can see a line in the dirt ahead of him that serves as a marker for where he is supposed to run.

Audio problem: The original audio track for the saloon scene towards the end was accidentally lost during filming. Because the film was largely ad-libbed, not all of the lines could be recalled when the scene was dubbed in post production. As a result, lip movement is matched rather poorly to the audio.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: On 9/23/03, Theresa was in the closet talking to herself about Gwen and her baby. She very obviously flubs the word "because," pronouncing it more like "bikyiz."

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 9/22/03, when Nicole first appeared, there was a close-up of her while she was talking to Fox, and she stepped down into the swimming pool (We heard the splashes and she moved downwards.). In the wide shot that immediately followed, Nicole was back on the concrete at the edge of the pool, and she again stepped down onto the first step in the water.

Rhoda (1974)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In an episode of Mary Tyler Moore (from which Rhoda spun off) entitled "Rhoda's Sister Gets Married," Rhoda's sister Debbie, predictably, got married. In the show Rhoda, Rhoda had only one sister, Brenda, who was not married, nor had she ever been.

Mary Tyler Moore (1970)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In an episode fairly late in the life of the show, Lou Grant says that when Mary came to interview for a job at the station, she bumped into the desk in his office and said, "Excuse me" to the inanimate object. However, we saw that interview in the very first episode, and no such thing happened.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: When Sheridan faked her own death in 2001 to escape from the drug cartel, she was buried alive. Timmy and Tabitha dug up the grave, and it was deep enough for Tabitha to stand in, upright, without her head reaching above the surface; it appeared to be the standard six feet deep. Then Julian had the grave filled in with cement after a token amount of dirt was shoveled in. But when the men broke apart the cement with their shovels, it was only about six inches thick. And when they finally dug through the cement and dirt, the coffin was also much closer to the surface than it had been before.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: The Lopez-Fitzgeralds should be completely destitute by now (September, 2003). They were always supposedly very short on money, even when Pilar, Theresa, and Luis were all working. But Pilar and Theresa have been fired by the Cranes, and there's no Crane money coming to Luis or Antonio through Sheridan ever since she was kidnapped, plus Miguel is in college, and Theresa and Miguel each have a baby. Forget about Maria's hospital bills - How do they even have food on the table?

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: At the end of the 9/10/03 episode, the song "Number 1 Crush" is about halfway through when Theresa removes Fox's shirt as they dance seductively. At the beginning of the 9/11/03 episode, the scene is replayed just as the song starts, but Fox is already shirtless.

Mama's Family (1983)

A Grave Mistake - S2-E22

Revealing mistake: When Thelma sees that a strange woman is in the grave intended for her, she smacks Carl's headstone with her purse. The headstone can be seen to move slightly under the blow.

Pecker (1998)

Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, Pecker is at the Washington Monument in Baltimore when he boards the 27 bus to Hampden. The 27 bus does go to Hampden, but the closest it ever comes to the monument is Howard Street, three blocks to the west.

Dallas (1978)

Show generally

Plot hole: In the first season, Lucy Ewing had an affair with Ray, the farm hand at South Fork. Several years later, it was revealed that Ray was actually Jock Ewing's illegitimate son, making him Lucy's uncle. However, the subject of their affair was never raised, even though they surely would have been at least somewhat traumatized upon learning of the accidental incest.

Show generally

Plot hole: When Marlena finds out that Lucas has been working for Tony DiMera, she is angry and upset. He says it's none of her business, but she says that it is her business because she is the grandmother of Lucas' son, Will. Sami finds out about Lucas' new job about a month later, and is shocked. If Marlena was so concerned about Will, why didn't she say anything about Lucas' new job to Sami, Will's mother?

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The character of Hope Williams Brady was born in real time on January 10, 1974. When the character was believed to be dead in 2000, her tombstone indicated that she had been born in 1963. This was done because the writers had aged the character by about ten years during her absence from the show around 1980.

DavidK93

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Shawn Douglas Brady was a ring-bearer, about 4 years old, at the wedding of John Black and Isabella Toscano in 1992. At the wedding, Isabella gave birth to their son Brady. All of the children on the show were recast in 1999 to be much older. Brady Black is now three years older than Shawn, instead of the other way around.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: There is no doubt that Luis must be the father of Sheridan's baby. Sheridan and Antonio did not make love at any point after July, 2002. When she regained her memory and remembered her love for Luis, she successfully held off Antonio until their wedding in December. Meanwhile, she did make love to Luis several times that summer and fall. Antonio never had a chance to even try to make love to Sheridan after the wedding, because he fell into a coma. He regained consciousness in March, 2003 at the same time that Sheridan learned she was pregnant. Why does she and everyone else act as if the baby could be either Antonio's or Luis's?
