Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: On 11/20/03, the killer sends Bo a video image of Caroline on a PDA. You can see the "Caroline in Hell" effect wobbling around on the screen of the PDA where it's been superimposed in post-production.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 11/20/03, the killer sends a full-color video image of Caroline to Bo's PDA. The PDA has a standard LCD display, and there's no way that any amount of "hacking" could possibly cause such an image to appear on that screen.

Tru Calling (2003)

Brother's Keeper - S1-E3

Plot hole: When Marco brings Andrew's corpse to the morgue the first time the evening happens, he says that Andrew was died "in his ex-wife's house." However, during the second instance of the day, it is eventually revealed that Sarah is actually still married to Andrew, and they are just separated. Sarah may have lied to Harrison about that, but the police would have gotten accurate information. In fact, when Sarah calls the police (the second time), she refers to Andrew as "her husband."

Tru Calling (2003)

Brother's Keeper - S1-E3

Character mistake: At the end of the episode, after Sarah has been tricked into revealing her plan and is rather obviously going to go to jail, Tru tells her that she "should have taken half," meaning that she should have settled for half of Andrew's money in a divorce instead of trying to get all of it by having him murdered. But Tru seems to be forgetting that Sarah has been trying to divorce Andrew all along, and it's Andrew who has stood in the way of that. Sarah would evidently have been perfectly happy with half, but Andrew prevented it from even being on the table for her, so Tru's comment doesn't make any sense.

Smallville (2001)

Shattered - S3-E8

Trivia: The asylum to which Lex is taken at the end of the episode is called "Belle Reve," which is French for "beautiful dream." It is also the name of the family mansion that once belonged to Blanche and Stella DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire." The mansion was lost, but it was the one memory to which Blanche clinged throughout her descent into madness. Belle Reve is also home to many lesser powered super villains in the DC universe, including some of Superman's enemies.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 11/18/03, Grace was looking at a construction paper scrapbook Jessica made in third grade. But where did the scrapbook come from? The Bennett house was sucked into Hell two years ago, and everything was destroyed.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Caroline Brady's first name had always been pronounced with a long "i" in the last syllable. This is confirmed by the flashback with Victor that was shown on 11/17/03. However, for the last few weeks, since the character returned to the forefront of the story, everybody has inexplicably pronounced the name with a short "i." This includes Victor in the 11/17/03 episode, immediately after the flashback.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Plot hole: On the 11/17/03 episode, it was stated that the sudden darkness on 11/14/03 was the result of an eclipse. But that doesn't make sense at all. The characters were very surprised by the event. However, the times and locations of eclipses are always well known to astronomers. When one is going to happen, close to everyone in the affected area is aware of it. If an eclipse really happened "out of the blue" without anyone expecting it, it would be instantaneously newsworthy on a global level. The explanation that because of the serial killer being featured in all the headlines that they had not noticed the information about the eclipse makes no sense, as the same people who normally know about impending eclipses would have known about this one.

Evil Dead II (1987)

Trivia: The beginning of this film is a recap of the events of the first installment. However, all of the footage is newly shot, and completely rewrites the preceding events in order to suit the direction the writers wanted to take this script. There are many changes. Three characters completely disappear from the story, the Book of the Dead is given a new name (It was not called the Necronomicon in the first movie), the bridge is much sturdier in appearance, and the book is not destroyed in the fireplace. Evil Dead II (1987)

Deliberate mistake: When the hillbilly is dragged into the cellar, the resulting explosion of blood has a much greater volume than the actual amount of blood in a human body. This is done to support the campy gore motif of the film. (01:03:20)

Tru Calling (2003)

Brother's Keeper - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: The second time the day happens, the man stands up in the restaurant to profess his love to his girlfriend almost immediately after the waiter drops his tray. There is only about ten seconds between the two events, but the first time it all happened, there was a gap of nearly thirty seconds.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 11/11/03, Brady shows Nicole a newspaper with the headline "Maggie Horton Brutally Murdered on Halloween." But where did this newspaper come from? It's very late at night, and Maggie just died in the previous episode.

Tru Calling (2003)

Putting Out Fires - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: The first time Tru lives the day, she has breakfast with her brother first thing in the morning. Harrison goes to put sugar in his coffee and the lid falls off. The second time, they go out together much later (after Tru goes shopping with Lindsay), and Tru manages to grab the sugar lid just before it falls off. But people have been eating at the restaurant all day, so it's not at all likely that the lid would still have been loose. Plus, the same patrons are seen in the diner even though it should be a completely different crowd.

Tru Calling (2003)

Putting Out Fires - S1-E2

Audio problem: When Lindsay learns that Tru has broken up with her secret boyfriend and met another guy the same morning, she jokingly whispers to her, "You little slut." The movement of her lips doesn't match at all.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 11/7/03, Antonio finally realizes that Luis and Sheridan are in love and he has a series of rapid flashbacks of compromising situations in which he has caught them. One of those scenes is when Antonio almost saw Luis and Sheridan cuddling post-coitally in Sheridan's bedroom, but "luckily" went temporarily blind an instant before he looked in the window. So why could he see them together in his flashback?

Will & Grace (1998)

Heart Like a Wheelchair - S6-E6

Trivia: Jack suggests that Karen could torture Lorraine, an Englishwoman, by "tying her down and forcing her to watch the American version of anything British." The episode aired on NBC shortly after NBC's "Coupling," based on a successful British show by the same title, was cancelled due to low ratings and critical condemnation. Not to worry, though; NBC is already adapting the BBC's "The Office."

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: On 11/5/03, Luis is begging the divers to continue searching for Charlie and the baby he believes to be trapped with her in the submerged car. Beth and Mrs. Wallace are watching these events on a news broadcast that includes changing camera angles and dramatic closeups. It looks completely unlike a real news report.

Trivia: On 11/5/03, Mickey and Maggie are in grave danger and Hope dispatches officers and an ambulance to their house. She gives the address as "1313 Mockingbird," the same address as the Munsters.

Show generally

Factual error: Throughout the serial killer plot in the fall of 2003, Celeste often dealt tarot cards. The Death card turned up very frequently, and it was always treated as though it actually meant death. I can see how a layperson could make this mistake, but Celeste should know that the Death card simply represents transformation and is not an omen of doom.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: On 10/27/03, Tabitha was visited by the ghost of Timmy. When he approached little Endora, it was apparent from the back of his head that it wasn't Josh Ryan Evans. This was obvious even without the knowledge that the young actor died more than a year earlier.
