Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Plot hole: In August of 2005, during what was meant to be one day in the characters' lives, John took his private jet and visited Colorado, Hawaii, and Singapore. A trip to all three destinations in eighteen hours (at most) would be quite impossible.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Several times during the tsunamis, in the week of 8/1/05, Sam Bennett's shirt would switch between being yellow to a light orange from shot to shot. The orange shirt was distinctly darker than the yellow one, even when both were soaking wet. Actor James Hyde was wearing the yellow shirt, but his stunt double had the orange one.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the 8/3/05 episode, Sami jumped out of the cake, walked directly to Lucas, and said, "I am going to give you a birthday you'll never forget," and then she kissed him. At the beginning of the next episode, Lucas asked, "Sami, what the hell are you doing here?" when she first popped out, and there were about two more lines of dialogue between the two of them before Sami delivered the same line as the day before and kissed him.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/28/05 and 7/29/05, a few episodes after Harmony, which is in Maine, was hit by an earthquake, the two men at the Tsunami Warning Center say that a tsunami is heading directly towards Harmony. It had previously been said that the earthquake's epicenter had been just offshore of Harmony, so the statement makes sense. However, they then looked at a computer graphic that showed the tsunami originating from far out in the Atlantic and heading westwards towards the entire eastern seaboard, as if the quake had occurred in the central or eastern Atlantic instead of near New England.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 8/1/05, when the lamppost fell on T.C., you could see in the side view that T.C. was entirely in front of the lamppost from that perspective, so that they fell side by side, and T.C. landed perpendicular to the pole. Then, in the overhead shot immediately thereafter, T.C. was instead pinned by the street lamp, and it was lying mostly lengthwise across him.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Factual error: On 7/29/05, the men at the Tsunami Warning Center talked about the tsunami that was heading towards Harmony, and then the scene shifted to a giant wave. However, the shot was of a large, cresting ocean surface wave. Tsunamis are very different from surface waves in many ways, the most notable of which is that a tsunami at sea is only a few feet tall at most. Even when it approaches land it behaves like a violently oncoming tide, not a cresting wave.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/19/05, Luis mentions his and Sheridan's past life in ancient Egypt. The viewers know about this past life, because Tabitha told Timmy about it. However, unlike their past lives on the Titanic and in 19th century America, which they experienced firsthand, Luis and Sheridan themselves never learned about their past life as Antony and Cleopatra.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/13/05, Bonnie complains of a stiff neck from sleeping on the sofa bed in Mickey's den. However, when Mickey first suggested that he, Bonnie, and Maggie live together, he specifically stated that there were three bedrooms in the house and they would each have one.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/8/05, Mimi mentioned to Rex that she woke up in a cell that day, referring to her time in prison. But it was actually still just later in that same day that she was sentenced, before which she was out on bail. So she'd gone into prison that day, but she hadn't woken up there.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/7/05, Mickey talks about how he, Rex, and Patrick may have made a mistake in going to the police station "tonight." However, both prior to and after that scene, it was full daylight not only in Salem, but even on the plane that was carrying Belle and her family back from Europe, where it would have been hours later than it was in Salem.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/6/05, Ivy mentions to Katherine that Rachel, Katherine's sister, had died before she, Ivy, married Julian. But since Ivy believes Alistair's story about Rachel dying in a boating accident, she should believe that Rachel died before Alistair married Katherine. And since Ivy is slightly younger than Julian, that means she thinks Rachel died before she was even born. Consequently, why would she cite Rachel's death in relation to an event in her life, rather than in terms of predating it altogether?

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 7/7/05, Lucas told Sami that Will had called him from summer camp to say he was having a good time but misses Sami. However, just a few episodes earlier, when it was already the same day, Sami was making an American flag dessert that she said was for Lucas and Will. So why wasn't Sami surprised to hear that Will is away from home?

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/4/05, it was late at night and Alistair had just kissed Theresa. Pilar was warning her to stay away from him. Theresa was wearing a black, sleeveless dress, and Pilar was wearing a blue blouse and a matching light jacket. On 7/5/05, it was morning, which made sense because the characters had been saying through the past several episodes that it was almost morning. Theresa and Pilar were in the middle of the same conversation, unmoved from their previous location in front of the Crane mansion, but Theresa was wearing a white blouse with a floral print and Pilar's outfit was black.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 7/4/05, Eve says to Julian, "Miles is your grandson, too, even if Chad doesn't know it." Julian is Chad's father, and Chad is the baby's biological father, but Whitney has told everybody that Fox is Miles' father; Eve and Julian know the truth. However, Julian is also Fox's father, so Chad does know that Julian is Miles' grandfather, even if it's for a different reason than he thinks.

Factual error: On 6/15/05, Marlena told Mimi that "the first rule of the Hippocratic Oath is 'First, do no harm.'" It is a common misconception that the Oath begins with that phrase, which actually appears nowhere in either the ancient or modern versions. But Marlena, a psychiatrist, would certainly know the actual Oath.

Summerland (2004)

Show generally

Factual error: In episode 2-11: "Safe House," Bradin's PSAT score report is shown. He has a 726 verbal and a 746 math, for a total of 1472. However, the PSAT has three sections - verbal, math, and writing skills - and each is scored on a scale of 80 points, not 800. So PSATs run on a scale of 240, not the familiar 1600 that the SAT used until earlier in 2005.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 6/23/05, Noah and Fancy kissed towards the end of the episode. Then they squabbled over who had followed whom to Harmony, both insisted that they were lifelong Harmony residents, and both accusatory asked each other, "Who are you?" before the police officer came up behind them and said, "That's what I'd like to know." Then, on 6/24/05, at the beginning of the episode, Noah and Fancy shared the same kiss, but then Fancy immediately and dreamily asked, "Who are you?" Then the police officer came up and delivered the same line as before.

Continuity mistake: On 6/24/05, Sam and Luis were trying to break through a wall in the Crane mansion. The sound of metal on metal is heard, and Pilar asks what has happened. Luis and Sam explain that they've just hit a metal barrier that they think must conceal the room they're looking for. But several square feet of metal are already exposed. Why wasn't the metallic sound heard earlier, and why is everyone acting like they've only just discovered this second barrier?

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 6/14/05, Ned and Fancy left Las Vegas by plane and traveled to Harmony. It was already dark when they left, which in June would mean that it must have been after 8pm at the absolute earliest. They arrived in Harmony later the same night. Harmony is in Maine, so by the time they got there, it would have been at least 2am (three hours travel time plus three hours time difference). However, after they had gotten home, Pilar was telling Paloma to come home before midnight, meaning that it was supposed to be much earlier than it could possibly have been at that point.
