Continuity mistake: On 12/2/03, Theresa went for a walk on the wharf with her son Ethan Martin, who appeared to be four or five years old. Ethan had been seen two months earlier, at which time he was two or three years old.

Audio problem: On 12/1/03, John presents Marlena with a flower that he calls "Mahonia Japonia." The plant in question is actually called Mahonia Japonica. The final, hard "c" sound is missing when Drake Hogestyn says it aloud.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Factual error: Davis tells Tru that glucagon is a substitute for insulin in diabetic emergencies. In actuality, it does exactly the opposite of insulin, raising glucose levels in the blood while insulin lowers them.

The Simpsons (1989)

The Fat and the Furriest - S15-E5

Factual error: Homer creates a giant sugar ball by making a normal sized cotton candy on a paper cone, and then coating it with liquid caramel. The cotton candy holds its shape and Homer continues to expand it with more cotton candy and caramel. However, cotton candy dissolves very quickly and tears apart easily. Between the weight and moisture content of the caramel, the original cotton candy would have immediately melted and/or collapsed.

The Simpsons (1989)

The Fat and the Furriest - S15-E5

Continuity mistake: When Homer realises that the bear was only agressive because of the electrical tag, they share a bear hug. The back of Homer's shirt is torn to tatters, and his back is bleeding. Immediately thereafter, the back of Homer's shirt is completely intact.

Plot hole: How can Rex and Cassie be so close in age to Belle? Marlena gave birth to the twins, her surrogate children, while she was held prisoner by Stefano, some time before her return to Salem in 1991. Belle was born in 1993, so she should be several years younger than her supposed half-siblings. Instead, they all started college together and turned 18 (a huge continuity issue in and of itself) in 2002-2003.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 11/29/03, Ivy tries to cook Thanksgiving dinner, and the turkey explodes. Comedic value aside, if the turkey was going to explode then it would have happened while cooking, and even that would have been highly implausible. It makes no sense at all for the turkey to explode after being pulled from the oven, when prodded with a spoon.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: When Eve arrived home from LA on 11/28/03, she had changed her clothes since the last time she'd been seen. But Eve and TC weren't shown with luggage at any point in time; they went to LA on the spur of the moment to help Whitney. And even if she did have other clothes with her, there was never a chance for to change into them, since they went from the hospital straight to the airport.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Plot hole: On 11/28/03, the Russells arrived home from LA. Inexplicably, they all enter the house separately. Eve is shown arriving alone. Later, Whitney is hanging up her coat. Finally, TC eventually is seen in the house without having been shown coming in the door. But they all came home from the aiport at the same time, and nobody was ever shown doing anything that would delay them, such as gathering luggage.

Plot hole: On 11/28/03, Sheridan come home from the hospital and is devastated to see her cottage full of teddy bears, because she believes that her baby has died. Antonio explains that the toys are still there because Luis didn't tell him that Sheridan would be coming home that day, and he's angry about it. But that doesn't make any sense at all. Sheridan disappeared just a few months into her pregnancy. When she was found (the night before the 11/28/03 episode takes place), she was no longer pregnant. So when and why did Antonio or anybody else go out and buy dolls for Sheridan's baby? It's been months since anybody anticipated a happy homecoming for mother and child.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: Sami revealed that Roman is really Cassie and Rex's father, both at the end of the 11/25/03 episode and again when the scene was replayed at the beginning of the 11/26/03 episode. But the dialogue was distinctly different. The first time Sami referred to the twins' "Brady DNA," but not the second time. There were other minor differences in the speech, and in character placement around the room.

Timeline (2003)

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film, Kate finds a bas relief that has been partially destroyed and replaced with unadorned stone. As it turns out, she destroyed it herself in the past. However, when she does so, she eradicates almost the entire framed portion. In the present day, only the lower part had been dismantled. (00:14:05 - 01:16:35)

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 11/26/03, there was dialogue from several characters indicating that the Thanksgiving celebration would take place later that day, i.e., that it was already Thanksgiving. However, when Thanksgiving actually started on 11/28/03, it was the morning of the following day.

Passions (1999)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: On 11/25/03, Ethan says that Gwen confronted Theresa the day after she saw her and Ethan kissing on television. But Gwen actually confronted Theresa later the same night. In fact, it is still impossibly late that same night when Ethan makes this statement.

Days of Our Lives (1965)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: At the very end of the 11/24/03 episode, Marlena remembered that she ate the vegetable dip right before she collapsed; it is poisoned. At that moment, Hope takes some dip on a carrot and walks past Bo as he confronts Rex. She moves the snack to her mouth and the shot freezes. At the beginning of the 11/25/03 episode, the scene is replayed. Marlena again remembers the dip connection and Hope again takes some dip on a carrot. But before she moves anywhere near Bo, Celeste takes her aside to warn her of impending danger.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Plot hole: John is slightly surprised to find that Tru is acting as bartender for the party, but doesn't dwell on it any further once she explains that she was supplied gratis to make up for the earlier "problems" with the room. But John should actually be extremely alarmed to find her there, given that he poisoned the ice and expects the other guests to drop dead. He certainly wouldn't want any witnesses to that.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Question: What time does Tru work her shift at the morgue? In this episode, she was at work when Marco scared her from under the sheet. Then she was eating dinner with Harrison. What time did they eat? Wasn't it already late at night by then? Then she was back at work - I guess a dinner break makes sense for a nighttime shift - and she met Luc. The second time the day happened, she was at work when Marco tried to scare her. Then she was walking somewhere with Harrison and she hadn't met Luc. Was this after the same dinner she had with Harrison the first time? Was she still going to meet Luc later?

DavidK93

Chosen answer: The next episode shows that Tru didn't meet Luc after all, even though she should have been in work by the time he showed up. I think the answer is that the writers don't actually know.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Plot hole: When Lindsay brings Tru breakfast in bed on the second version of the day, she is excited that Tru remembered her birthday, and she also mentions that nobody else did. But it's still very early in the morning. It's not at all reasonable to assume that anybody forgot her birthday just because they didn't call before 8am.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Plot hole: Meredith submits to the drug test at her office. In the next scene, which takes place later the same evening, Harrison tells Tru that Meredith's test came back positive and she was immediately fired. But it takes at least 24 hours to get a result from a urine test at all. If the test is positive, the sample must be subjected to a more thorough examination. It usually takes at least 72 hours to get the results in that case. There's no way Meredith's positive results could have come back in less than six hours, even if a lab had been open late in the evening.

Tru Calling (2003)

Past Tense - S1-E4

Plot hole: Meredith is subjected to a random drug test at work. However, the drug test is announced late at night. Tru is already working her "graveyard shift" at the morgue, so we know the regular workday is over. Hardly anyone would be in the office. Therefore, it doesn't make sense for the company to be administering this drug test, said to be requisite for all employees, at that time.
