Doctor Who

The Vampires of Venice - S5-E6

New this week Audio problem: When Francesco says "Did you just say something about Mummy?", his lips hardly move because of the fang prosthetic in his mouth, revealing that the line was dubbed back in afterwards. (00:39:00)

Bad Wolf (1) - S1-E12

New this month Revealing mistake: After the Doctor deactivates the signal hiding the Dalek fleet, when the camera zooms out to show the ships, the background image of the Horsehead and Flame Nebulae is cut off a bit below where the Dalek Emperor's flagship is shown, revealing the end of the picture they used for a background. 42 - S3-E7

New this month Character mistake: The question to unlock one of the doors asks for the next number in the sequence 313, 331, 367. The Doctor gives the answer as 379 with a convoluted (albeit correct) explanation of happy primes, but there are much simpler solutions. The difference between the first and second numbers is 18 and the difference between the second and third is 36 (which is 2 x 18), suggesting that the difference between the third number and the next could be either 54 (= 3 x 18), giving 421 as the next number, or 72 (= 2 x 36), giving 439. It's likely that the Doctor would see that the answer is ambiguous, and yet he confidently states that the most complicated answer is correct. (00:08:45 - 00:09:15)

The Woman Who Fell to Earth - S11-E2

New this month Deliberate mistake: The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) is wearing the same clothes that the previous incarnation (Peter Capaldi) wore after regenerating. Peter Capaldi is 6' and Jodie Whittaker is 5'6", but the clothes fit perfectly. She even says her legs used to be longer, and yet the trousers aren't flapping around her feet.

New Earth - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: As the camera zooms out when Rose is captured and Cassandra is about to "go" into Rose, the psychograft disappears, but in the next shot of Rose it appears again. (00:11:45)

The Stolen Earth (1) - S4-E12

Continuity mistake: Before Martha uses Project Indigo she doesn't have an ear piece. A shot later when she says, "Bye, Jack", she does (and then takes it out).

The Impossible Planet (1) - S2-E11

Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Ida descend into the core of Krop Tor, the screen charting their progress shows 39% Oxygen. After cutting away to an overhead shot of the two, the camera cuts back to the same descent display, only now the oxygen percentage (which has been descending constantly all this time) is at 42%. (00:35:25)

The Eleventh Hour - S5-E1

Other mistake: When the Doctor tells the Atraxi "Oh, you're not the first lot to have come here, there have been so many," one of the monsters shown from their scan of Earth is a group of Ood. Even if in one of their uprisings they attacked the Earth, it would have been in the far future. The Doctor has had no encounters with them on Earth, and he knows them to be peaceful, so why would they be amongst the aliens who have threatened the planet? The only Ood who has been to Earth at this point is Ood Sigma, and he didn't come to attack. In addition, a group of Hath is also shown. These aliens have never been seen on Earth at all. (00:53:30)

Evolution of the Daleks (2) - S3-E5

Visible crew/equipment: As the Daleks present Sec in chains on the theatre stage, a stagehand is briefly seen moving behind them.

LizzieWD

The Family of Blood (2) - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: As the scarecrow-soldiers advance on the school to do battle, the scene cuts to Sister of Mine, looking out from a school window. There is heavy rainfall outside. When we immediately cut back to the advancing scarecrows, it is a cold, clear night.

LizzieWD

Bad Wolf (1) - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: Just after they break out of the prison cell, you see Lynda reach for her gadgets twice. (00:32:20)

LizzieWD

Doomsday (2) - S2-E16

Visible crew/equipment: When Rose runs and hugs her mother, near the end of the episode, at the back wheel of the jeep, you can see someone's foot going down and then back up. (00:44:50)

LizzieWD

The Stolen Earth (1) - S4-E12

Audio problem: When Martha is talking to everyone on her laptop, we can see her mouth moving from the front view. Yet when the camera cuts behind her, she's still talking but we don't see her mouth move.

The Doctor Dances (2) - S1-E10

Factual error: Magnetic tape recorders weren't available outside of Germany during World War II. True the tape recorder could have been captured from the Germans, but, as it was "cutting edge" technology for 1941, it would hardly be likely to have ended up in a hospital office.

The Beast Below - S5-E2

Continuity mistake: When Amy's age is given as 1306, the computer screen reads 1308 instead.

The Poison Sky (2) - S4-E5

Visible crew/equipment: During the warehouse battle, around when the Doctor tells Donna, "Hold on, I'm coming", the film crew can be seen reflected in a door at the right of screen. (00:28:20)

The Poison Sky (2) - S4-E5

Continuity mistake: When Colonel Mace confronts Commander Skorr, he raises his gun twice; once in one shot, and immediately after in the other. (00:30:30)

Dalek - S1-E6

Revealing mistake: When they show the soldiers killed by the Dalek, in both the hallway outside the cage and the large room in weapons testing, they show some casings which were ejected from the soldiers' guns. The casings still have projectiles in them. If used, they would have been in magazines and would never fall out like they are shown.

Rose - S1-E1

Deliberate mistake: The final Auton attack in this episode is supposed to take place in a busy London street, but it is a pedestrianised area, and several shots reveal this. For example, there are no road markings visible, no apparent distinction between pavement and road, and a bus stop appears to sit in the middle of the 'road'.

The End of the World - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: Rose Tyler's hairstyle changes from shot to shot when she is discussing being 'the last human' with Cassandra. Rose's hair is in one style for the long shots, and another style for the close-ups.
