Doctor Who

The Sound of Drums (2) - S3-E12

Factual error: When they are running over the bridge, supposedly in London, you can see the Heddlu sign on the police station (Heddlu is Welsh for police). You can also see a Cardiff bus at the bus stop underneath.

The Shakespeare Code - S3-E2

Character mistake: David Tennant has a strong Scottish accent, and puts on the Doctor's English one. When David and Freema Agyeman are lying on the bed in the hotel, David forgets his English accent when he says, "There's something I'm missing, Martha."

The Age of Steel (2) - S2-E9

Continuity mistake: While hiding behind the mini-skips, Rose and Pete hold hands. After a cut to close up, they hold hands again.

The Curse of the Black Spot - S6-E4

Visible crew/equipment: When Amy pulls out a sword before fighting the pirates, you can see a cameraman's reflection on the blade.

The Stolen Earth (1) - S4-E12

Continuity mistake: In the scene toward the end where the Doctor is shot by the Dalek, when the camera is shooting from Rose's point of view, the Doctor is gasping and struggling for breath. However when the camera shows the Doctor from behind, he's lying completely still in Rose's arms. The camera cuts back to Rose's POV and he's struggling again, with no time in between for the change in his movements.

The Eleventh Hour - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: After the Doctor brings Amy onto the TARDIS, the material of the tweed jacket he's wearing is entirely different in the close-ups of the Doctor's hands, as he's fiddling with the gears on the panel.

Bad Wolf (1) - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: As the Doctor, Captain Jack and Lynda with a Y have been captured, the Doctor turns his head to the right, then after it cuts it shows him turning his head again and saying "Let's do it."

The Impossible Planet (1) - S2-E11

Factual error: The Doctor (and the staff on the station) refer to the idea of a planet being in orbit around a black hole as 'impossible'. It is not. Gravity (and physics in general) works perfectly well outside of the event horizon. For all practical purposes - regarding orbiting around it - the black hole might as well be any other object, as long as it has an equal mass.

Turn Left - S4-E11

Plot hole: In this episode, the Doctor is said to have died during the events of "The Runaway Bride." As a result, he was not able to prevent the spaceship Titanic from crashing in London. It is later shown that southeast England was obliterated by the explosion. This falls far short of what the Doctor mentioned in "Voyage of the Damned", wherein he frantically repeated that if the Titanic crashed, the drive's explosion would wipe out all 6 billion people on the Earth (that's the entire human race at the time of the show's airing).

The Doctor's Daughter - S4-E6

Other mistake: Martha falls into the bog and Hath Peck rushes down to help her. She calls out "Help me, Peck!" but the subtitles read "Help me peg!" This is just one of many errors in this series' subtitles, which seem to have been added by listening to the dialogue without reference to the script.

Love & Monsters - S2-E13

Continuity mistake: When Ursula is filming Elton outside his old house, the digital camera produces a distorted picture and has four white lines in the corners. But, after Elton's flashback, Ursula is still filming but the picture is straight and the lines are gone.

Show generally

Revealing mistake: Whenever you glimpse the inside of the TARDIS from outside, a frontal view reveals a picture of what's inside which has been placed at the back of the box. Sadly, it isn't on the sides. This means that, from the right angle, you can easily tell that it is just a box.

Evolution of the Daleks (2) - S3-E5

Revealing mistake: When the people in Hooverville are meeting around the campfire, it's raining. However, everyone's clothes and hats are completely dry.

The Impossible Astronaut - S6-E2

Revealing mistake: When the Doctor is struck by the green light emitted from the astronaut, his right thigh momentarily disappears due to the animation. (This is even more visible when looking at the still of this shot on the Doctor Who website).

Continuity mistake: Throughout series 5 and series 6, The Doctor's hair style keeps changing sides.

Kill the Moon - S8-E7

Factual error: Near the end of the episode, the full Moon is shown in the daytime sky, well above the horizon. This is impossible, as any celestial body lit by the Sun has its full phase only when it is directly opposite the Sun; thus, a full Moon rises at sunset and sits high in the sky only during the night. For the Moon to be in the sky during the day as shown, it would have to be visibly of a phase other than full.

Midnight - S4-E10

Revealing mistake: In the opening scene the Doctor and Donna are speaking over the phone. The purple phone Donna is holding shows the slot where a cable should be plugged in, but there is none.

Rise of the Cybermen (1) - S2-E8

Other mistake: When the Doctor finds the crystal and blows on it, it glows brightly. While it lights up his face as it should, the backs of his hands light up, apparently from the crystal. This is not possible, as the light comes from in front when the crystal is inside the Doctor's hands.

The Power of Three - S7-E5

Visible crew/equipment: When the Doctor is painting the fence and vacuuming the living room, Amy lifts her legs to let the Doctor pass with the vacuum, revealing the transmitter for her mic in her back pocket.

Cold War - S7-E10

Factual error: The rank insignia of the Soviet officers is completely inaccurate. The captain wears the epaulets of a captain first rank (captain) and the sleeve insignia of a captain second rank (commander). Lieutenant Stephashin wears the epaulets of a senior lieutenant and the sleeve insignia of a captain third rank (lieutenant-commander). The third officer wears the epaulets of a captain second rank and the sleeve insignia of a captain third rank.

Quotes

Doctor: So, that's the trap. Or the test or the final judgment, I don't know. But if I kill you, I kill her. Except that implies, in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils, that she's just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods - out of all that - out of that whole pantheon - if I believe in one thing... Just one thing... I believe in her.

Trivia

"Torchwood" is an anagram for Doctor Who. Russell T Davies came up with it during the filming of Series 1 to label the tapes in order to prevent theft and potential leakage, and decided to use the name in the show proper.
