Doctor Who

New Earth - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: As Rose approaches the white room, you see the take-up reel on the projector running the wrong direction. After the angle changes, the take-up reel is running correctly. (00:09:00)

Movie Nut

The Day of the Doctor - S7-E16

Continuity mistake: After the 10th Doctor marries Elizabeth, they kiss. While they are kissing, the collar on his jacket gets turned up, from her point of view. The camera then switches to look at her from over his shoulder, then back, and now the collar is straight. (00:49:40)

Army of Ghosts (1) - S2-E15

Continuity mistake: When the Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver on the glass partition in the Torchwood Institute, cracks radiate out in a star pattern, meaning the glass will break into pointed shards. When it does break, it breaks into cubes, like safety glass. (00:29:30)

The Power of Three - S7-E5

Continuity mistake: When the Doctor is at the Tower of London with Amy and Kate, he claims he needs some air. When Amy follows him she follows him twice, in two different shots. The first time on 'ground view' walking and the second time on 'above view' running. (00:21:20)

Shadow5

The Doctor's Daughter - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Cobb is briefing his troops, the troops all have their guns, but in the other scene (after you see the Hath marching) the troops are receiving guns. (00:15:45)

The Family of Blood (2) - S3-E9

Revealing mistake: The pyrotechnic mortars used in the destruction of the Family's ship are visible in the shots leading up to their detonation. As the Family run from their ship through the field, the mortars are visible against the branches behind them. Shortly afterwards, they detonate, creating the illusion that the invisible craft has exploded.

Victory of the Daleks - S5-E3

Revealing mistake: When the TARDIS dematerialises and causes wind to blow against Churchill and Amy, their clothes are affected - but the cigar smoke in the air is unaffected, and actually drifts towards the vanishing TARDIS. (00:14:25)

LizzieWD

The Family of Blood (2) - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: When Timothy opens the watch into the girl's eyes, Jeremy Baines shouts "Time Lord", then a few seconds later; "What are we waiting for. Attack!" There is then a shot looking down on the scarecrows, Jeremy and Jenny. If you look closely at Jeremy Baines, it's a different actor playing him. (00:16:20)

Professor Lazarus

The Poison Sky (2) - S4-E5

Other mistake: Just before the Doctor ignites the atmosphere, Sylvia's house is getting dangerously full of gas. When Sylvia and Wilf go outside after the air is cleared, the inside of their house is completely clear. Meanwhile, back at the Rattigan Academy, there is still gas lingering in the air. (00:34:43 - 00:37:15)

The Poison Sky (2) - S4-E5

Factual error: The Doctor sets the atmosphere on fire, but only the upper part burns. The atmosphere extends from the Earth's surface (where it is densest) upwards, and so the flames would come right down to the ground, burning everyone to death. Of course that wouldn't work with the plot, so artistic licence has been applied.

The Impossible Planet (1) - S2-E11

Plot hole: The Doctor and Ida are stranded 10 miles down, and yet the lift travels very slowly, like walking pace. They only have an hour's worth of oxygen left in their suits - by the time they get to the surface, it would have run out.

The Impossible Planet (1) - S2-E11

Plot hole: The rocket flew down a gravity funnel and (presumably) crash-landed on the planet, since the true Captain died during the landing. The rocket is big, but surely not large enough to contain all the 'flat-packed' materials for the sanctuary base (which is massive) and the gantry which supports the rocket. Where did that gantry come from? It is the same size as the rocket. It is not possible that the sanctuary base and rocket gantry could have fitted on board that rocket.

Flux: Chapter One - The Halloween Apocalypse - S13-E1

Continuity mistake: At the very start, when Yaz says, "Oh yeah, we are totally in command," just as it begins to zoom out, the handcuff around Yaz's right wrist has the double bar facing out and her left wrist has the single bar facing out, but in following shots both handcuffs are facing the same way. Similarly, this occurs with the Doctor's handcuffs around both wrists, when the Doctor keeps trying the voice recognition. (00:00:10)

Season 1 generally

Question: 1. Why was Rose not allowed to touch her past self without creating a paradox and causing those creatures to appear and eat everyone, but Amy was allowed to touch her younger self without any repercussions? 2. Why was Rose able to have the time vortex in her head for a few minutes and it only knocked her unconscious whereas the Doctor had it inside him for about 30 seconds and it basically killed him and caused his regeneration?

strikeand

Chosen answer: 1) When Stephen Moffat took over he ignored a lot of what had been developed before (there is not in-universe answer). 2) It would have killed Rose, so the Doctor absorbed the energy. His body regenerated before the energy could do a significant amount of damage that would prevent regeneration.
