Corrected entry: The bridge's collapse is shown taking place at night, in full darkness. The collapse of the Silver Bridge actually happened at 5:04 pm - in that area, and in December, this is within a few minutes of sunset.

Correction: This film is only "based" on true events, not a faithful reenaction. Artistic changes for effect were taken by director, which disqualifies this as a mistake.

Corrected entry: Near the beginning of Team USA's first game against Iceland, Banks gets the puck after Goldberg makes a save, and the announcer says "Captain Adam Banks" has the puck. But Adam isn't the captain; Charlie is.

Correction: Character mistake on the part of the announcer, but not a movie mistake as he did call out the right player.

Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

Corrected entry: During the end of the Rex-Kwon-Do commercial, Rex points his finger at the screen. When the text appears, Rex's finger he pointed at the screen with moves up and down in the same repetitive fashion, without Rex's body moving.

Correction: This is intentional. It is supposed to be funny, as a) the commercial is poorly made, and b) Rex is flexing his muscles as hard as he can, and the shaking is a result of that. Not a mistake.

28 Days Later (2002)

Corrected entry: Britain is a Nuclear Power. As soon as the UK Government "lost control" of its nuclear weapons, it is a safe bet that a large chunk of the US Navy would have been sitting off the coast to prevent any weapons falling in to the wrong hands. While the exact capabilities of their Electronic Warefare Ships is classified, if a taxi driver in London could pick up the Majors signal, they certainly would too.

Correction: The military uses something similar to a spectrum analyzer to visually monitor broad swaths of RF spectrum at a time. In other words a ships radio room can monitor the entire radio spectrum in real time with an analog spectrum scope as well as a digital FFT display, they would see his RF signal as a trace on an FFT waterfall display or a peak on an analog spectrum scope and then simply tune to that frequency. My equipment is over 25 years old so I'm sure they have much greater capability then I do and I have the capability of monitoring from 0.1Khz to 6Ghz in real time which easily covers the entire civilian broadcast frequencies they would be using. The moment they started broadcasting NATO would have known about it. Triangulating their actual position would have taken a while but they were broadcasting their position as well as giving directions so that solved that problem.

Correction: Yes, but not instantaneously. It would likely take just a little while to get there, plus you have to consider that the transmission was picked up on a radio. Just because the Majors signal was out there does not mean it will be found, especially if the US military isn't looking for it. I am sure they would be a lot of other procedures to go through before scanning radio stations for a hidden signal.

Corrected entry: In most of the scenes with the ship's door, it blends in with the rest of the hull when it is closed. But when the ship descends at the Freeman's new house near the end of the movie, the closed door's outline is plainly visible.

Correction: That's because the door is open. Look closely, and you will see that the door has been opened as it is landing.

Madagascar (2005)

Corrected entry: When the lion, giraffe and hippo get on the train, look at the giraffe's rear legs. One of the tissue boxes comes off. However, when he's sliding around Grand Central Station, he has it back on.

Correction: Watch closely. One of the legs actually has the drum attached to it, from the guy in the subway he crashes into. Box comes off as he gets on the train, replaced by a drum when he gets off the train.

Corrected entry: When Eddie defeats the judge by hitting the dip valve with the extended boxing glove, the judge is shown being pushed forward by the spray, however when the camera cuts it shows Eddie sitting there with the spray going past him but the judge mysteriously vanishes.

Correction: Actually, as the spray hits the Judge sending him backwards, he falls to the ground. He lands at a point on the ground before reaching Eddie. Since the spray continued after the Judge had fallen, and he fell before reaching Eddie, what you are seeing from this angle is the rest of the now unobstructed spray from the machine going past Eddie.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Roger is looking at the photos of Jessica and Acme playing patty cake, Roger flips through the pictures fast enough that it looks as though Valiant had just kept clicking the button on the camera. This isn't possible because when Valiant was taking the pictures, he had to wind the camera after every shot.

Correction: But since the very basic motions of "Patty-cake" repeat over and over as you play it, and he only flips through 4 or 5 pictures, it creates a "motion effect" when they are flipped in the correct order of the game.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Continuity mistake: Lance is sitting at home eating cereal and watching the end of a Three Stooges short, "Brideless Groom," on television. During the subsequent phone conversation between Lance and Vincent, we can hear the short's soundtrack continuing in the background. The soundtrack then abruptly changes to an earlier scene in the short (Christine McIntyre slapping Shemp around) and then to a different short altogether ("Sing a Song of Six Pants," with Harold Brauer talking about a safe combination).

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: "Brideless Groom, Sing a Song of Six Pants, and Disorder in the Court" are all 3 featured on the same single copy of a DVD release of The Three Stooges (I own it). Trudy, the one WITHOUT all the "stuff" in her face, is still seen in the same room watching the TV also. She very easily could have changed scenes with a single click of a remote, as the camera is not focused on her during the shots of Lance on the phone with Vince.

94, no DVD.

Corrected entry: When Scooby and the gang reach the ending level, one of the students says that he's never beaten the last level. The only problem: The student created the game, so he SHOULD know how to get past the final level.

Correction: Knowing HOW to beat a game and being ABLE to beat a game are two totally different things. He states he has never beaten this level, because it's so hard. For example, I have played many a game where I have a "Strategy Guide" that tells me HOW to win the game, but actually winning took me quite a few tries.

Passenger 57 (1992)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film. Charles Rayne asks the surgeon what time it is. He replies "It's 12 o' Clock" Rayne then jumps up and grabs the scalpel and proceeds to slit his throat. Run it in slow motion and you will see the fake blood on the surgeon's throat before it is supposedly cut.

Correction: Slow motion disqualifies this as a mistake, as it looks okay at normal viewing speed.

Poltergeist III (1988)

Corrected entry: When Carol-Anne opens the bathroom door to tell Donna that she looks great, in the mirrors reflection her jumpsuit buttons up to the left. In the next shot of Carol-Anne, we see her jumpsuit still buttons up to the left. (00:30:35)

Correction: That's because that reflection of her is of the parallel side. Notice she says "you look great" twice. Once is her, the other was the parallel apparition. Notice that any time something "ghostly" happens in a mirror or reflection, it is not a true reverse, such as the letters on someone's jacket. This signifies the ghosts from the real images, and was done on purpose for the film. (See other corrections for this film.)

Corrected entry: In one of the memories Robin Williams has of his wife he is laying on the ground and she is sitting on top of him with leaves in her hair. The camera cuts to his point to view and when it switches back to being of his wife the leaves in her hair are gone.

Correction: Memory/dream sequences are not subject to this kind of mistake, as it is all taking place in the character's mind anyways. He can remember it any way he wants.

Weird Science (1985)

Corrected entry: The boys are having a party at Wyatt's house. Just before the motorcycles come crashing through the window one can see that the panes of glass are already shattered.

Correction: Considering that a nuclear missile came up through the basement, and the house did not collapse, the vibration must have been distributed throughout the house, which could have easily caused the windows to crack. But since Lisa created the "bikers" anyways, she could have just as easily cracked the windows to make them easy for the bikers to crash through for dramatic effect.

Overboard (1987)

Corrected entry: When Grant comes to pick up Annie/Joanna at her house in Elk Cove, she gets into the limo first, followed by Grant. In the next scene (when the boys rush the limo) she and Grant are seated in the opposite order.

Correction: Anyone who has ever taken a ride in a limo will know that there is plenty of room to move about in the back, and that switching places hardly takes more than a second.

The Golden Child (1986)

Corrected entry: When Eddie Murphy is on the television show looking for the missing girl, he at first says she is 14. He later refers to her as being 16.

Correction: He says "sixteen" every time. He is interrupted several times by the host of the show, making it hard to tell, but he never states her age wrong.

Joe Dirt (2001)

Corrected entry: Joe Dirt lives in the boiler room in the studio. Why was he driving to work if he lives there? You might say he was just driving around, but he had his nametag on...

Correction: Surely he does not have permission to live rent-free in the boiler room. It's highly likely that he leaves sometimes and returns later so as to not draw any unwanted questions.

Joe Dirt (2001)

Corrected entry: Joe would be dead from spending the night in a fumigation tent. (00:28:25)

Correction: It is a comedy. There are several times he would have died, such as freezing to death in a balloon at 37,000 feet at night, breaking his neck in the oil rig fight, falling from the top of the oil rig when he crashed into it, etc. It was done for comedic effect to make us laugh.

Joe Dirt (2001)

Corrected entry: When Joe Dirt is working on the carnival ride, he has long body hair above his navel. Later, when Joe is in Buffalo Bob's pit, Joe has no hair above his navel.

Correction: Buffalo Bob is a spoof of the Buffalo Bill character from Silence of the Lambs. In that movie, and also referenced in this film, he was going to make a suit from the skin, hence the lotion. If the skin had to be smooth, it's likely he had Joe Dirt shave certain areas.

Judge Dredd (1995)

Corrected entry: When Rico is making the clones, he says "these are your brothers and sisters." If the clones were clones of him and his DNA, they'd all turn out male, i.e. just brothers.

Correction: Men have an X and Y chromosome, where women have two X chromosomes. Surely with the technology to create new clones in 24 hours, they could alter the chromosomes at a precise point to make some of the subjects female.

Jazetopher

Not only would that cause a high rate of "birth" defects, but if you're altering their chromosomes they're not clones anymore.

I think the correction may have misled you. You wouldn't be "altering" the chromosomes or causing birth defects. One would just need to replace the Y-chromosome with an exact copy of the X-chromosome. All the females would still share the same DNA with him. Then it comes down to semantics if you want to call that a clone or not. For simplicity sake, they choose to.
