The Lost Boys (1987)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Michael wakes up in bed after falling from the rail bridge, watch Sam's leg movements and listen to the way he says 'Mike' as he enters the room. The slow-motion effect has been left on for a fraction too long, and it looks a little odd.

Correction: 1) A split second odd movement by a character is not a mistake, unless they completely change positions on-screen. 2) You can't just "leave on" the slow-motion effect during filming like you would a DVD player, it's done during the final editing of the film. As such, you wouldn't have the slo-mo from a previous scene "still left on" for the next scene.

Corrected entry: It is stated several times that the tanks on the top of the building contain one million gallons of water. Know how much one million gallons of water weighs? Two thousand, two hundred and sixty eight metric tonnes. There is no building in the world that could take that kind of weight on the top floor, and this doesn't even begin to take into account the huge steel tanks, pumps, pipes and what have you. It would be like sticking a brick on top of a drinking straw.

Correction: This is false. The "brick on a straw" theory is completely innacurate. A single tower of The World Trade Center, which was 30+ stories less than this fictional Tower, contained well over 100,000 tons of "just" steel, not counting the concrete, etc. Also, a million gallons of water actually weighs 3,782 metric tons, not 2,268. Even at 3,782 tons plus the extra weight of tanks and equipment, a building of this size would not have a problem supporting that weight. It would be more like placing a brick on a 55-gallon barrel, not a drinking straw.

The Mask (1994)

Corrected entry: When Tina goes to the police station to see Stanley to tell him about what is going to happen that night, Stanley tells her to leave town so that she will be safe. A few minutes later, when Dorian and his men have Tina cornered in an alleyway, one of them turns up holding a suitcase and says, "Look what I found in her car." But there was no time between Tina leaving the police station and her being cornered in the alleyway for her to have been able to go home and pack clothes.

Correction: This is Stanley's way of telling her that he cares about her. Just because we see Stanley tell her to leave town, that doesn't mean that she did not also come up with the same idea on her own. She knows that Dorian is bad news, and seeing as leaving town is a very obvious thing to do, no mistake is made.

Correction: Tina could have packed some things before she went to the jail to see Stanley.

Poseidon (2006)

Corrected entry: There is an explosion just before the ballroom implosion. After this explosion, the ship then begins to take on water. This would not have taken place. Water will only flood something from in the floor or hole if there is space for the air to escape. There were no holes in the ship's hull except the bow thrusters, and there were no windows above the ocean's surface that had broken. But the characters hadn't gotten that far to open the hatch when the ship had already begun sinking.

Correction: The ship is inverted and several explosions have taken place, as well as a raging fire. Just because we are not shown any holes in the hull of the ship, this does not mean that there weren't any. The fact that the ship is indeed sinking implies that the structure of the ship has been compromised, and they must escape before it floods.

The Sentinel (2006)

Corrected entry: Kiefer Sutherland states that the Canadian US border is 3500 miles long, and that Michael Douglas could slip over the border almost undetected. In fact, the border is 3987 miles long including the water boundaries, or 3145 miles if just including land crossings. These miles do not include the 1538 miles between the state of Alaska and the province of British Columbia and Yukon Territory. If he's estimating the length of the border, he would be more correct to say either 4000 miles or 3000 miles. Someone working with the Secret Service would be more specific due to security training.

Correction: Character choice, not a mistake. Time was a factor, and he did not have time to rattle off all the wonderful geographical facts that accompany your submission. A distance of 4000 miles is more than what is true, and 3000 is not enough, as it is factually more than that. He likely picked the average of the two, which is 3500, which gives a good average, as well as saves time.

Clue (1985)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Mustard and Scarlet are trapped in the Lounge, Yvette shoots the gun and unravels the rope holding the chandelier. In the end, where she and Miss Scarlet are revealed to be the killers, the chandelier and rope are on the ceiling and are intact.

Correction: Different chandelier. There is more than one in the Hall.

Click (2006)

Corrected entry: When the boys are playing catch and Michael pauses them, he can easily move the kid's arm down, but when he whacks his boss, his face barely moves.

Correction: All people affected by the remote are subject to supernatural forces, which are not bound by normal laws of physics.

Congo (1995)

Corrected entry: Karen asks Charles' for his co-ordinates so they can link up again, but she must already know them in order to currently be linked with him.

Hamster

Correction: He called them. She needs his co-ordinates to be able to call him back.

The Goonies (1985)

Corrected entry: During the diner scene, in which Chunk tells Mikey that this is not the sort of place you want to go to, in the bathroom we see a camera man moving from our right to left, in the mirror behind them.

Scrappy

Correction: Mikey never goes to the bathroom at the diner. He tells her he has to go, and she tells him where it is. He then goes downstairs, and straight to the room where they are keeping Sloth chained up. Then Josh comes and takes him out of the restaurant. Having said this, I can't find this camera person anywhere.

Jazetopher

I think Scrappy is referring to one of the Fratelli's carrying out the body. Chunk notices it over his shoulder which causes him to say "Dead things, Mikey..."

Congo (1995)

Corrected entry: When everybody lands after parachuting out the plane, Munro says he has to sedate Amy. But in the next shot she is very much wide awake.

Hamster

Correction: He says that the pill will calm her down, jokingly refering to it as "Gorilla Prozac" in the plane. Then he says that she woke up on the way down, biting him. He even remarks that she has quite the sharp set of teeth. It merely knocked her out for the jump, and even that dose was shown to not be enough.

Congo (1995)

Corrected entry: Charles and Jeffrey have to swim through deep water to get to the city of Zinj. The group only walks through ankle deep water to get to it though.

Hamster

Correction: They swin "under" a rock formation to get to it in, at most, 10-15 feet of water. The second crew has Amy for their guide, and she leads them to the most direct route to the mines, which just happens to be a different path altogether.

Congo (1995)

Corrected entry: When they find the pit where the gorillas put dead bodies, only Jeffrey and Charles are in there, when seven others were also killed. (01:25:10)

Hamster

Correction: Perhaps it's because Charlie and Jeffrey were the only two killed at the mine, while the others were killed at camp. Since the other seven members were never shown again, this is not a continuity mistake, as the gorillas can do whatever they want with the bodies.

Corrected entry: When Roy and Jillian are driving to Devil's Tower, they see all the downed animals on the side of the road. In the shot where you see the cars' tires passing by the animals, you can see the ear of one of the animals move. (Technically, the animals aren't dead, they have been gassed with a heavy sleep agent. But it breaks the illusion of the animals supposed to be appearing dead). (01:25:15)

Correction: 1)Since the animals are not dead, any slight movement they have is not considered a mistake. 2) In this shot, the camera angle is from the bottom of the car, so the main characters wouldn't have seen this, and slight movement from a moving vehicle would be hard to spot anyways. 3) When the car is driving by the animal in question, the tires pass close to it, so it could even be the wind from the vehicle that caused the flap of the ear to move. At best this is a character mistake due to the military's poor choice in selecting an effective enough sleep agent.

Jazetopher

Not only that, but when you're asleep, you still move/twitch. Same for animals.

Cars (2006)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Luigi discusses with Lightning what type of racing car Lightning is and gets upset that Lightning races in the Piston Cup and not Formula One he says "Luigi, follow me to the garage." when speaking to Guido.

Correction: Wrong. He says "Luigi follows only the Ferrari" as he is refering in third-person that he only likes that type of car, further explaining that he follows only Formula One racing. The Italian accent muffles it slightly, but try the "subtitle" option for clarification.

Swordfish (2001)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Holly is waiting for her mother to pick her up, she uses her cell phone and makes a call by only entering 4 numbers. If you listen, and compare with your own phone, Holly dials 1234 in that order. (00:39:25)

Correction: Actually, the tones I heard indicate that she was using either the "speed-dial" function or the "recently called" list, both of which only require 3 or 4 presses starting at the main menu. This makes since, as her Mom would likely be in her "important" numbers on her phone, or on the list of people she has talked to recently.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: In the scene where McClain lights the trail of jet fuel, and the fire catches up with the wing of the airplane, for 11 seconds there are several shots of the wing explosion showing fire moving from the rear to the front, engulfing the bad guys. In the very next shot, there is a side view of an airplane exploding from the front to the rear. (01:50:25)

Correction: Precisely. The flames engulf the "still intact" body of the plane from back to front, burning up the bad guys. Then the plane explodes from front to back. If the shot of the flames inside the "still intact" cabin was meant to be the same shot as the explosion, the cabin itself would not still be intact, but rather blown up as well.

Corrected entry: The crew's reaction to Sybok taking over of the ship is unrealistic. Unless otherwise told not to do anything by their Captain, they would not readily take orders from Sybok and would do all within their power to overthrow him, not casually act as if nothing has changed in the chain of command.

Correction: He has brainwashed them, just as he has done to everyone else that is following him in his quest.

Corrected entry: When Budd shoots Beatrix with rock salt, her chest is bloodily obliterated. But when she confronts Bill just a few days or weeks later, her exposed decolletage is perfect, unscathed and unblemished. In fact, despite the fact that the time frame allows little to no recovery time between battles, every time Beatrix kills off a new member of the Viper Assassination Squad, she shows no bruises or scars from the wounds she received previously.

Correction: We are never told how much time has passed between each member that she kills, so no mistake can be made, as she could have waited until her wounds healed before meeting the next person on the list. This seems to make sense, seeing as how entering a battle with fresh wounds would give your opponent a definite advantage over you.

The Terminator (1984)

Corrected entry: During the motel love scene, it constantly shows clips of Sarah and Kyle holding hands, yet in all the other shots you can see that they aren't.

Correction: This is a composite of clips, also known as a montage, where only bits and pieces are shown to mark the passing of time. No continuity mistakes are made because they are shown at different times of their entire love-making session. Each clip represents more time that has passed, as they obviously made love for more than 30 seconds, and showing the whole event is something not done in movies.

Jazetopher

Corrected entry: In the beginning sequence of the movie, while the camera is flying over the conveyor belt it shows a bunch of fans that are used to cool the chocolate enough to be picked up without falling apart. The fans that are used to do this are upside down. The air flow created from such a fan would blow up, not down, thus not blowing any air on the chocolate. This is apparent when the camera angle is parallel to the blades.

Correction: The inverted fans are not used to "cool down" the chocolate, but rather they are "pulling" the warm air AWAY from the chocolate bars. If you place several powerful fans facing the chocolate, it would be blowing hard enough to cause the not-yet-solid chocolate bars to all be misshaped.
