Corrected entry: This error applies to the DVD version of the movie. When reading the Lecter case files in the special features section, the dates in which the events of the movie take place are all in the 1970's. However, the movie says that they occur in the 1980's. Which is it?
Corrected entry: Near the beginning of the movie, there is a shot of Spirit galloping at the head of the herd. This is incorrect as the stallion never leads a wild mustang herd - the lead mare does. The stallion often remains at the back, to make sure that no one gets left behind.
Correction: Actually, the stallion doesn't run in one specific place. Most of the time, the stallion does lead the herd short distances or stays in the middle of his mares and foals.
Corrected entry: As Russell is about to enter the house in a search for a dangerous adversary he loads his shotgun from an ammo holder on the stock. This is an extremely poor tactical move, especially for a trained police officer. The shells on the stock are extras; the gun should have originally been loaded from another supply prior to entry.
Correction: As you say, it's an extremely poor tactical move, not a mistake (except from the character).
Corrected entry: When Eastwood goes into the police station, the officer at the front desk tells him the men he's looking for are in the first door on the right. The next shot is of him walking into the room, only he's walking into a room on his left.
Correction: Eastwood is told it's the first door on his right. In the next scene, the first doorway Eastwood walks through actually is on his right.
Corrected entry: Juwanna Mann is showering with her uniform on after a game so that the girls won't know that she's really a man. But why then are Vivica Fox and Kim Wayans showering in a towel and a bathrobe?
Correction: These showers are individual nozzles and operate on an individual basis. if you check closer, the nozzles for Vivica and Kim are not turned on.
Corrected entry: After Fowler twists his ankle, there is a scene in which he's in an office-like place with a walking stick, yelling and limping. While he's yelling, watch his 'hurt' leg. He walks using it without the cane at least 3 times.
Correction: Even with a severely twisted ankle it is possible to walk a few steps without support. The obvious absence of pain indicates that his injury was less severe. More of a character issue with Fowler than a movie mistake.
Corrected entry: When Frank Jr. is talking to Frank Sr in the dirty bar/restaurant, there is a red candle on the table, and nothing else. We then cut to Frank Jr, and cut back to Frank Sr. Now there is an ashtray there as well. It couldn't have just been put there by a waiter, as it has cigarette ends in it. (01:33:25)
Correction: If you look the ashtray is actually under the paper, The paper moves away from the ashtray, the ashtray doesn't appear from nowhere.
Corrected entry: In the barn scene where the soldier just saw his buddy get his throat ripped out by one of the werewolves, he freaks out and backs the jeep through the barn wall. You can see him looking over his shoulder to see were he's going, the next shot has him backed up at the front door of the house waiting for the rest of his buddies to get in the car from the house. Suddenly there's a werewolf in the backseat of the jeep and he gets killed by it - now how does the soldier not see a seven foot tall werewolf in the back seat when he's first backing out of the barn, and if the werewolf wasn't supposed to be in the scene where the soldier is backing out of the barn how does it sneak in the back seat of the jeep without the soldier noticing while he's waiting for his buddies at the front door?
Correction: When Joe is looking over his shoulder, he's doing so because he heard something behind the car. You can see a werewolf shadow reaching for the back door. Joe doesn't realize this because almost immedietly after glancing behind him, a wolf attacks the driver side door. He neither sees now hears the one behind the jeep get in the jeep since he's a bit busy with the other one, and only notices when the jeep's back at the house.
Corrected entry: If Mr Delvin knows about the water striders, why does he wait until he almost dies before telling anyone?
Correction: As Mr Devlin is a secret agent then has to keep his work a secret, also he may have only just found out about the water strider and hadn't had the chance to brief anyone on his findings.
Corrected entry: When Laurie hits Michael over the head with the lamp when he walks through the door the lamp smashes, then when Laurie drops the lamp and runs out of the room the lamps is not broken and is still lit.
Correction: If you look closely at the lamp, it is not still lit. Normally on the insides of lamps it does tend to be lighter. It is just either the color of the inside of the lamp or just where the light is shining.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Akasha exits the Vampire Bar in London, you can see the green Melbourne City Wheelie Bins in the background.
Correction: Similar green wheelie bins are also used in London for recycling purposes.
Corrected entry: Several times during the film, there are long shots that show a boat moving through the water, followed by close-ups of the boat in which it's obvious that the boat is quite still.
Correction: Too vague: There are many types of boats in the movie and a whole lot of water scenes.
Corrected entry: Joe leaves the gravesite with his wife's picture in hand. He reaches the cliff and jumps over: His wife's picture is no longer in his hand or his shirt pocket. When he wakes up after almost drowning, the picture is still not in his shirt pocket. Yet, when he reaches the village, he pulls it out, completely dry and intact.
Correction: He pulls it from his pants pocket at the village, not from his shirt.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Stamos is talking with Banderas on the bridge, she says 'Now it's only a matter of time before those bad people come running'. In the beginning of the phrase you can hear her voice, before her lips start moving. (01:18:05)
Correction: Throughout the movie the English soundtrack does not synch with RR's lips because she is speaking in French.
Corrected entry: When the old Christian lady with the glasses goes to the kitchen with the British mind reader for a glass of ice tea, there was no electricity in the house for some time, but when she opens the fridge, the light of the fridge is still on.
Correction: Remember the psychics have awakened the house, the house is now generating its own power, this light could have been generated buy the house its self.
Corrected entry: At the beginning, Pistachio has a flashback to his science class. When he says "and just a little bit of Luminol", his mouth isn't matching the words.
Correction: I checked this out, and his mouth moves along with the audio perfectly.
Corrected entry: Silver goes to the galley to get his spyglass right before the mutiny. Why does Silver need that spyglass? Silver's cyborg eye has a built in spyglass, which we learn later when he sees Jim about to fall and zooms in to see that he is loosing grasp on his handhold. We also see another time that Silver uses the built in spyglass when Jim tells them to turn the ship around right before the planet blows up. Silver zooms in to see the portal, then zooms in even closer to see the 3D map. So since Silver can obviously see things from great distances very well, why would he need to go to galley?
Correction: He wasn't always a cyborg, which means at one time he did need a spyglass. If he went to get it, then it must have sentimental value.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the captain's face is falling off because of the wire, he is leaning forward. However, in the next shot his body falls backwards, though he should have fallen forwards.
Correction: Katie pushes his body away after the top of his head slides forwards. Thus, he falls backwards. The push is seen in the first time the cable-slaughter is shown.
Play the opening scene in slow motion on YouTube and you can see as the wire goes through all of the passengers, the Captain is hugging Katie (young girl) the entire time, it is only when the wire has sliced him, Katie backs away from him, completely, not touching him at all but just gasping in fear and staring at him, he's obviously leaning forward as the top half of his face is sliding off, he should have definitely fallen forwards and not toppled backwards like a mannequin as he did in the movie. So there is no logical explanation for this, this is a legitimate movie mistake. And yes this was the first cable slaughter scene, the opening scene of the movie.
Corrected entry: In the opening scene where Ali saves the prostitutes from the pimp, the scene closes with them "thanking" Ali. The sound of a zipper is distinctly heard. But in the previous scenes Ali is wearing sweat pants that don't have a zipper.
Correction: This is Ali's dream and he's too busy dreaming about the two prostitutes so Ali, being easily distracted by this, doesn't think straight and adds a zipper to his dream.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Richard Gere gets into the bathtub with wife Diane Lane, he is clearly wearing black boxer shorts.
Correction: I watched this scene several times and could not see any part of a pair of shorts, black or otherwise.
Correction: DVD special features are not part of the film and so mistakes in them are not applicable. In any case, this is a question, not a mistake.
