Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: When you see the carrier from above, you can see that the planes take up more than half the deck space. If there were 420 feet of space to take off, that would mean that the carrier was at least 840 feet long. They were at most around 650-700 feet.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: USS Hornet CV-8 was 824 feet long.

Corrected entry: When the TV News report about Bogomil's shooting, they say that he was leading the investigation into "the so-called Alphabet Crimes". However before he was shot, there was only one crime - the Adriano's robbery.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The reporter called it the "Alphabet Crimes" because the media received a cryptic message after the Adriano's robbery which suggested more crimes would occur.

BaconIsMyBFF

Corrected entry: When Nick and Clyde are talking outside the prison fence, Clyde's mouth is bleeding after Nick hit him. In the next clip there is no trace of blood. Even if he has tried to wipe his mouth with his hand (which we don't see) there would be some blood visible.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: He doesn't wipe his mouth, but he does spit out the blood, and he kind of moves his tongue around his mouth before he spits which would have removed most of the blood from his mouth. There probably should have been some blood left in his mouth, though, it would have been hard to get it all with the movement he does.

scaryterri

Corrected entry: In the "Pig in the poke" show, the final question - regarding the Lewis and Clark expedition - is: "What Lieutenant led that expedition?" However Lewis led the expedition, and he was a Captain. Clark was a Lieutenant. (00:06:30)

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Lewis and Clark were co-captains, both leaders. Clark was technically still a lieutenant until he was officially promoted after returning.

Correction: IMF did not travel to Dubai by commercial flight.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: When Bond and Holly escape from the control room below the rocket, Bond has his sleeves rolled up, and his lower arms are bare. However, later in the film he is wearing his wrist-arrow-gun. Where did that come from?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: It must be hidden in his rolled-up sleeve. Obviously Bond wouldn't want anyone to see it because it would've been confiscated and he wouldn't be able to use it to his advantage later in the film.

A View to a Kill (1985)

Corrected entry: After the initial explosion below San Andreas Lake, there is another clip showing the fisherman in trouble. Water spray is now coming both from behind him - where the explosion was - and in front of him - from high above. How could an explosion from below generate water from above?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The shockwave of the explosion causes the eruption of water on the surface of the lake. Since the mine is right below the lake, the explosion would definitely cause a disturbance in the water because it causes the water level in the lake to drop, as seen in a later shot of a dried-up San Andreas Lake.

I Am Legend (2007)

Corrected entry: The first evening, Robert seals all windows with huge, thick shutters. But when he wakes up, daylight is shining on him.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: He barricades all the windows and lays down in he tub with his dog and rifle, but he doesn't go to sleep. You can see that he's awake and listening to the zombies noises. He's afraid and has his hand on his rifle just in case they break in. Once the sun comes up, it's safe for him to open a window, take a look outside, and finally go to sleep in his bed. That's why you see him waking up in sunlight, it's just sometime later in the day. You can also see that he dreads the night when he's washing his dog and his alarm goes off. It's not a safe time for him so he has to spend each night in constant fear of attack.

Corrected entry: Why are Stamper's people filming the murders of the surviving sailors? If that footage is released, it would be strange, because the Chinese would of course never film killing British sailors. Furthermore the Chinese were only present in planes, and Carver is trying to make it look like it was the planes that sank the ship and killed the crew. How would the Chinese film the killing from planes?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: As to why Stamper takes photos - these photos are for Carver's paper 'Tomorrow's News'. They wouldn't be released by the Chinese government - M says to Bond in the car that the Vietnamese authorities recovered the bodies. Presumably Carver's paper will claim the photos come from the Vietnamese authorities. Additionally (although less likely and relevant), in a deleted scene and in the book adaptation it is mentioned that Stamper makes snuff films - this footage potentially will go into one.

swordfish

Corrected entry: When Bond has received the briefcase from Q, he replaces the throwing knife. But in the clip where he leaves M's office, he has it in his hand.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: When Bond leaves M's office he has the ammunition sleeve in his hand, not the knife.

Corrected entry: Both Pripyat and Chernobyl are located within a zone with very tight military security. You pass two rings of fences and control posts when entering the area. John and Jack would not be able just to drive into the area.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The bad guys, with all their trucks and vans and bulldozers, would have encountered the tight circle of security measures and destroyed them; the bad guys paved the way for John and Jack.

Prison Break (2005)

Rendezvous - S2-E10

Corrected entry: Linc and LJ are saved by Linc's father's people near Wilcox, Arizona. They are taken to Linc's father in Trinidad, Colorado. It is shown as taking only a short while, and the other events have not come very far during the transportation. Sarah is still getting ready to meet Michael. However, Wilcox to Trinidad is a 10 hour drive.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Showing two different characters time lines is hardly a mistake, Sara and Link don't meet up here. If they had met it would be a mistake, but they don't. This is common practice in storytelling where a group is separated.

Prison Break (2005)

Rendezvous - S2-E10

Corrected entry: While Sara and Michael are running around the factory getting chased by Mahone, Paul Kellerman is seen in Wilcox Arizona. Sara and Michael go to their hotel in Gila New Mexico. Michael takes a bath and Sara leaves. When she steps out of the car Paul is there. How did he cover the 130 miles from Wilcox to Gila in that time?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The exact passing of time is never shown, only that it's still daytime, and that he took a shower and some time passed, its very possible/plausible that 3-4 hours passed...even if it was only 2 hours, 130 miles is easily do-able on the interstate driving 70/mph. Not to mention he is on an important time sensitive mission, he would be speeding whenever possible, I'm sure he isn't worried about tickets. Being a secret service agent and all.

Corrected entry: In the scene with the Portuguese gunsmith, the gunsmith says that the rifle is designed for the pressure of three fingers, and that's why Bond hits an inch too low. Well, maybe at the distance to the target disc, but not on all distances. Right at the nozzle you wouldn't hit an inch too low, and at further distances you'd hit lower. So when Bond shoots at the gunsmith's groin, he wouldn't hit an inch too low, since the guy is standing much closer than the target at the firing range.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Actually, at the distance between the gunsmith and 007 when he fired the rifle, the bullet would have been below line of sight (LOS). The bullet actually drops when it comes out of the barrel, then typically crosses and rises above LOS 25-55 yds downrange, depending on the load.

Copycat (1995)

Corrected entry: When the killer calls Helen from the club and plays the tape from the lecture, there is no music in the background when heard from Helen's end. But the music at the club is so loud, it would have been heard.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The music from the bar was heard from Helen's end.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: In the fight scene at the luggage machine McClane pulls a golf club from a golf bag. But a golf bag would never be sent as luggage without being wrapped tightly up. Otherwise the clubs could fall out or be damaged on the way. (00:13:55)

Jacob La Cour

Correction: I travel with a guy who does exactly this. He puts the rain hood on and nothing else, and sends it into the hold, so far without damage or incident. Hence it is not beyond the realms of possibility that McClane would find clubs in this state.

Corrected entry: Cleaning 'pigs' in pipelines move at the same speed as the oil or gas in the pipelines - which is quite slow. For example, the oil in the Alaska pipeline moves at 6-9 mph. A 'pig' would not run with the speed or make the sound shown in the escape scene.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: That's because most pigs are not specially designed to carry defecting Soviet citizens to the west. It would need to be faster as there is a limited air supply on board and speed is of the essence. This is also alluded to in the film as Bond has to let an unusual amount of pressure build up to 'fire' the pig down the pipeline and the supervisor's control panel goes haywire when this happens.

Ocean's Thirteen (2007)

Corrected entry: During the riots at the Mexican factory the blond guy throws a Molotov cocktail. In the next shot a car is shown burning. But it is so far from where he threw it that he could not possibly have thrown it that far.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The Molotov cocktail thrown by the blonde guy is not the same as the one that lights the car. The car was already on fire (you can tell by how far the car is already burnt). You can see some guards with a fire extinguisher putting out a fire, likely from the Molotov that was just thrown.

Thunderball (1965)

Correction: It does, but there's a meeting Bond attends in the meantime. He even addresses the fact that his hat disappears, moving towards the hat rack saying "I had a hat when I came in", then looking confused when it's not there. This is the culmination of a running gag concerning Bond's hat that was developed through all four of the first Bond movies: In Dr. No, he tosses the hat onto the rack as if he was playing a game of horseshoes. In From Russia With Love, he does the same thing-and then sees M is in the office with Moneypenny and is Not Amused. In Goldfinger, it's Moneypenny who tosses the hat, while trying to convince Bond to go out with her that evening. Finally, in Thunderball, James starts to toss the hat, then thinks better of it and just puts it on the rack-and then it's gone when he comes back. What's more, with just one or two possible exceptions, this marks the last time Bond wears a hat as a fashion statement in the entire Bond series. Effectively, the producers recognized that they couldn't keep figuring out new things to do with the hat, and intentionally took it out of the picture - literally, so they didn't have to keep trying.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: When Esperanza shoots the pilot of his plane the sound of the engine changes its pitch immediately. Why does it do that? It is not as if the pilot's foot slid off the accelerator when he died. (01:10:45)

Jacob La Cour

Correction: When the pilot was shot, he leaned forward on the control column, which would've started the plane into a dive. When Esperanza pulls him off the controls, the sound returns to normal, consistent with the plane leveling off again.

Even so, the plane going into a dive shouldn't cause a change in engine speed (or by extension, tone). Wind noise would change, but what we hear is the engine spooling up to full power. That shouldn't happen.
