Plot hole: Why does Kristatos bother with the amateurish assassination attempt with the little one-man attack submarine, when he had already taken over the Triana?

I, Robot (2004)

Plot hole: Sonny hides among the 1000 robots in the big store room. They are all placed in very straight rows. Sonny would not be able to take over another robot's place in the grid (when he starts running we see a large robot-sized gap) without getting another robot to move. And while Will Smith is running around the rows, he would have noticed if the others moved to make room.

Suggested correction: Sonny was already at the factory before Spooner and Calvin showed up. It's possible he moved in a robot's space, and either the robots to his sides or the ones behind him moved back a space (we never see the rows in their entirety), hence no need for any of them to move while Spooner and Calvin are in the storage room.

Suggested correction: Will Smith shot one of them, it's possible this hole in the front of the row caused that line of robots to move forward one spot, to complete the row again. As they did Sonny could have slipped in. When he spotted Sonny the first time Sonny was simply standing between 2, as Will Smith only saw them from the front at that point, when he started running it's impossible to notice a simple step forward of 1 row of robots and Sonny slipping in.

Where Eagles Dare (1968)

Plot hole: How could Colonel Turner both be in London during the mission and in the pick-up plane? A Juncker can fly approx 220 km/h. It is approx. 1200 km from London to Southern Bavaria. That means that Colonel Turner would have had to leave London 5½ hours before the pick-up. The team does definitely not spend 5½ hours from the last time we see Colonel Turner in London until the pick-up.

Where Eagles Dare (1968)

Plot hole: When Smith and Shaffer take the gondola up to the castle, they step down on the roof of the car with heavy steps. It is completely unrealistic that the Germans inside did not hear them.

Where Eagles Dare (1968)

Plot hole: We never get an explanation why the three German spies in the British team are killing their team mates - and it doesn't really make any sense. They could just wait until they entered the Castle - and then ensure that they all got caught.

Plot hole: When falling into the deep, deep hole, the three would be killed upon impact, and the fact that they follow water will not change anything. They will still be falling with more than 180 km/h. The water isn't slowing them down, as nothing is holding the water up. So it will be free-falling too - with more or less the same speed.

Plot hole: We don't see any herbivores in the underground world - just fish and little birds. A T-Rex would need lots of big game to survive.

Shadow Man (2006)

Plot hole: Why would the club/casino accountant let Jack take the money without reacting, and then - just as he got away, go berserk with a machine-gun - and keep shooting even though he was gone?

Plot hole: The plot that a piece of the Roman spear that pierced Christ ends up in a hidden Mayan temple in the Amazon (which is nevertheless still full of gold etc.) makes no sense.

Plot hole: Episode 1: All passengers on cruise ships have a passenger card with their name and cabin number imprinted. They are not just identical key cards like in hotels.

Plot hole: Cain's hitman asks for a match to lit his cigar. Cain gives him the matchbook. When Axel later tests the matchbook for fingerprints, there is only one on it - Cain's. The hitman's fingerprint ought to be on it too.

Plot hole: The Devonshire is supposedly only 11 miles from the Chinese coast. If that was the case, the coast would be visible on the radar, and they would know that something was wrong.

Plot hole: When the hole is blown in the facade of the MI6 headquarter we first see flames and small debris - and then comes one more blast. Where did that come from? The money-bomb had already exploded and blown the hole in the building.

Octopussy (1983)

Plot hole: Bond would not have had (nor taken himself) time to lay a complete and careful clown make-up while changing clothes in the circus trailer.

Thunderball (1965)

Plot hole: It would not have been possible for Bond to place his jet-pack on the roof of Jaques Bovier's mansion. If he flew up there, everyone would have heard him - it's very noisy. And since it's also quite heavy, it is hard to imagine that he would have time to climb the wall, place it there, and get into the mansion, during the same time it took Jaques Bovier to get back from the church - which he left before Bond did.

Plot hole: At the border crossing, the gas pipeline takes a narrow 90-degree turn. The 'pig', which is about 3 meters long and cylindrical, would not be able to pass through such a corner.

Plot hole: The American spacecraft is said to be scheduled for launch at midnight Japanese time. But from the place in the movie where it is shown it is late afternoon or early evening.

Plot hole: When the submarine with Bond aboard sees the Liparus it is 6,200 yards away, and over to the side. How can it then suddenly be behind the submarine?

Jacob La Cour

Plot hole: Stromberg One is on 48 degrees West, Stromberg Two is at 22 degrees West, and the Liparus further east. That means that Stromberg Two has sailed at least 28 degrees since its departure from the Liparus. That is more than 2.500 km and would take a submarine several days. How did it get that far in a few hours?
