Jacob La Cour

Corrected entry: When Indy - in the opening scene - is running across the open field, dust is rising from him. And in the next cut - more dust. But when he started running there wasn't any.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: There is a gap between him running in the forest, then running in the field that is not on film; more than enough time for him to take a tumble in the dirt.

Corrected entry: In the scene in the castle, the weather outside is changing dramatically. When Indy enters his father's room, it is very dark and pouring rain. When in Elsa's room, the sunrise is shining brightly through the windows. When in the large hall, we can hear thunder again and see reflections of water running down the windows.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: This is actually very natural. I've been in the middle of terrible storm and suddenly it stopped for a few moments and she sun shone through. Then it started up again.

Corrected entry: In the meeting at the police station with among others Chief Lutz and the mayor you see part of technical equipment in the top left corner of the screen - several times."

Jacob La Cour

Correction: What you keep seeing at the top of the screen is not the filming crew's equipment, it's the bottom of the police monitors that hang directly over the conference table. When Rosewood shows Axel the shell casings (before Axel does his Johnny Wishbone thing), we can see those monitors over the conference table.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: When Necros is clinging to Bond's boot hanging from the plane, and Bond starts cutting open his shoe laces - why didn't Necros just grab hold of the net again?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: He could barely maintain his grip on the boot using both hands, if he took one hand off - even for a fraction of a second - he could have fallen. Apparently from his point of view he could not safely grab the net, and for all we know he was frozen in panic in the last few seconds before falling.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: When Bond has the cardiac arrest M is watching the number of his pulse and we hear the beeps. We hear the pulse slow down, but the number just changes from 134 to 133. The sound of the beeps indicate a pulse much slower than that - maybe only around 60.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: It is possible to have an electrical rate of 133 (what M sees), but it only corresponds to an actual (felt) rate of 60. There are a lot of technical, medical reasons for this, but I have seen it many times in my patients that are about to code.

shortdanzr

Corrected entry: When Bond comes back to the surface after diving down to the Devonshire we see some islands very close behind in the background. First, these would definitely have shown up on Devonshire's radar, and second, those islands are not 11 miles away.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: The Chinese coast is 11 miles away, not the islands. With the GPS sabatoged the Devonshire obviously thought those were different islands - further out at sea. Either way, their attention was monopolized by the approaching MIGs.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: When Bond and Luigi meet at Tofana it is overcast. But in the next clip, at the ice rink, the sky is clear. And there can't be a large time gap, since Luigi says that Kristatos is waiting for them.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: An assumption; we don't know how long it was between the two scenes. Kristatos was pre-occupied with watching Bibi's training, he wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere. We also don't know how far it was from their meeting in Tofana to the ice rink. Entirely possible for clouds to have rolled in between the two scenes.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: The message written on the mirror in Bond's hotel room is far too clear to have been written before the steam got on the mirror. If it had been written before it would have been readable, but there would have been some steam in the letters themselves. No sticky substances are used to create the letters, because if there were, the letters would be visible before the steam came on the mirror, and there would be traces of it left when Bond wiped the mirror clean. Notice he just wipes it over once - and everything is gone.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Rain-X anti-fog treatment or a mixture of white vinegar diluted in water would create the exact effect shown in the movie and would not leave any residue when wiped with a towel.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: Why doesn't the St. George's advanced military systems detect the mine before it is only a few meters away?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: This is a question, not a mistake. The mine is caught in a huge net loaded with fish that is being deliberately pulled towards the ship by the crew. It wasn't until the mine got very close to the ship that they could tell it wasn't a part of the catch. Because it was an old mine without any functioning electronics it would be very difficult to tell it apart from any other debris that normally gets caught up in the nets.

BocaDavie

Correction: This would be trivia if you had a source to prove the submission. It really does appear to be a dummy (and obviously they used a dummy in place of a real person when dumping the body down the smokestack). In the scene the submitter describes the subject (seen only from a reverse camera angle for this shot) could be a person sitting very still. Also, it is only assumed that the bald man in the wheelchair is Blofeld; EON productions lost the rights to use the name Blofeld prior to this film.

Armageddon (1998)

Corrected entry: When they finish drilling the hole, they pull the pipes up and throw them in a pile. They fall to the 'ground' quickly. The asteroid would have virtually no gravity.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: It is explained before the mission that because of the asteroid's mass and it's rotation there will be unpredictable gravity.

Corrected entry: In the opening scene the banker's assistant easily lifts the very large suitcase supposedly filled with money with one hand/arm. If that suitcase was full of money (paper) it would weigh well over 30 kg and he would not be able to handle it that easily.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: This makes assumptions based on the strength of the banker's assistant and the weight of the case; neither of which we know. It is extremely unlikely that they used an empty case for the shot of him lifting it, then cut to fill it with the money so they could show it full immediately afterward.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: If the fertiliser that was on King's money made Bond's ice cubes foam was on Bond's fingers, and therefore on the outside of the ice cubes, why didn't they start foaming immediately? In the first shot of his drink there is no (or only very little) foaming, whereas it foams a lot more when he is about to drink.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Things that are not answered are mysteries, not necessarily mistakes. The foaming could have been a delayed and not immediate reaction.

JC Fernandez

Corrected entry: If Bond and Electra are to check the pipeline, why don't they just fly to the pipeline in the helicopter? Why do they fly to a higher peak and then ski down?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Perhaps they decided to have a little fun before checking the line? Or perhaps Electra just wanted to show off to Bond? Just because they chose to go one way when you think they should have gone another doesn't make this a mistake.

Shannon Jackson

Corrected entry: The news broadcast showing panic on the stock markets is shown shortly after McClain arrive in DC. However the speaker says panic broke out "this afternoon". But it's morning.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Simple character error that "afternoon" was said instead of morning. It happens.

Ssiscool

Corrected entry: When McClane is attacking the helicopter from inside the tunnel, the guys in the helicopter see him coming when he is still deep inside the tunnel. They would not be able to see that the car was moving - let alone that it is McClane attacking them.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: If you look carefully, the lights are on at the top of the car and flashing. They can see that the vehicle is moving towards them and they know he went into the tunnel in one, so it's easy to presume that they know it's him.

Ssiscool

Corrected entry: When Bond and Domino jump from the wall of Palmyra, the Arabs are shooting at them from above. Bond and Domino dive, and try to hide by swimming under water. But if seen from 20 meters above, they would be just as easy to see in the clear water, swimming just below the surface.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: They're not necessarily trying to hide, but trying to avoid getting shot. Once the bullets hit water, they slow down drastically, reducing the chances they would be injured or killed.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: It doesn't make sense that Chief Lutz calls it 'The Alphabet Code' already after the first letter. It's all numbers. The only letter is A on the back - which stands for Adriano's. How would he know whether there would be a second letter with a B on?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Lutz makes an assumption based on his years of experience in law enforcement. Based on the nature of the letter and the prominent "A" on the back he surmises that he is dealing with a serial criminal who is going to commit crimes based on the letters of the alphabet.

Shrek 2 (2004)

Corrected entry: Fiona knocks out Charming at the ball. Puss, sitting on donkey's back, holds the magic wand. They are 5-7 meters from the spot where Charming falls. There is a short clip where the Fairy Godmother talks with the King - and suddenly Charming grabs the wand from Puss. He couldn't have gotten up and over there so fast - and without anyone noticing.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Everyone's attention was on the King and the Godmother. Everyone, including Donkey, moved closer to Shrek and Fiona during the conversation with the King and Godmother and it is entirely plausible for him to stand up and grab the wand.

Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: No helicopter can climb more than 5-6 km, and even at 5-6 km height a 5 kiloton bomb would destroy a city. The Hiroshima bomb was actually triggered at a height of about 500-1000 meters to maximise the effect.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Not true. A helicopter has been flown as high as the summit of Mount Everest, a height of 29.000', or 5.5 miles (9 kms). While most helicopters fly well under that ceiling, in the mountains where I live, it is common to see helicopters flying over 18.000' (just under 6 kms) to clear the tops of mountains.
