The Shiny Trinket Maneuver - S5-E12

Corrected entry: In 3-14 "The Einstein Approximation" Bernadette stated that she is able to easily handle children as her Mother ran an illegal day care centre in their basement. However, in this episode she states that she hates children because her mother worked and she had to bring up her siblings, and she cannot properly react to children. So which is it? Can't be both.

Correction: In 3-14 she says she can handle "stubborn children" and in 5-12 she refers to "little kids". Every parent will tell you there is a big difference in behavior in children at child-care age [i. e. Daycare children] and little kids [a little older]. It is easier to get them to do things when they are small but once they develop their "attitudes", it is very hard to get them to do what you want.

XIII

Corrected entry: After losing the motorcycle climbing the mountain, Rambo searches through abandoned mining equipment for survival items. He finds an old tarp from which to make a poncho. When he takes out his survival knife he throws away the scabbard. The scabbard is back on his belt for the rest of the film.

Correction: Obviously he found the scabbard after cutting up the tarp.

Battleship (2012)

Corrected entry: A satellite which has been designed by NASA to be as light as possible can damage one of the alien spacecraft in such a way that it becomes steer-less, crashes and burns. But the other four are perfectly undamaged while they smashed into water. Water has a relatively high surface tension. So when a satellite can damage a ship that badly, there is no way they would survive such a crash into the ocean.

Friso94

Correction: In Space, the spacecraft were not prepared for such a collision with any object. Once in Earth's atmosphere the spacecraft were prepared for impact with the water. Slowing down, for example.

XIII

Not to mention the space shuttle Columbia was destroyed because of damage caused by a piece of insulation. Atmospheric re-entry can reach a temp upwards of 1650 c or 3000 f while the deceleration can have a force upwards of 7 times that of gravity. It also veered off, an entry that is too steep can increases those forces. One small ding can lead to disaster.

The Goonies (1985)

Corrected entry: After Mikey sets off the booby trap with the large boulders, it's made clear that the boulders fill in the pathway side-by-side, yet the Fratellis, Sloth, and Chunk seem to make it past the boulders. (00:57:05)

Correction: The boulders do not make a perfect fit with the walls. There is enough room above the boulders to move about.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: On the last hand of the poker game, since Le Chiffre called Bond on his All In, Bond should have showed his cards first. But for the drama, Bond showing last was best suited .

molsonmonster

Correction: 'Should have' but not necessarily 'must have.' I play live poker quite a lot and I can say that some of the arrogant players love to show their cards 'out of turn' because they think that they have the winning cards. Sometimes the dealer can make a mistake also, prompting the wrong player to reveal their cards.

XIII

Correction: The four of them plus Penny is 5 people. It is closer to $6 each.

Jurassic Park III (2001)

Corrected entry: When Eric hears the ring tone, he runs and meets his parents at a huge fence for large animals as large as a T. rex. In "The Lost World", Hammond says "site b" was where the animals were kept for a few months. There was no use for a fence that tall because even though it only takes several years for large dinosaurs to be fully grown, at a few months old they could not be large enough to need a fence of that size. (00:54:50)

OliviaLovesSnow

Correction: The fact that Hammond kept the secret of Site B from everyone, then surely Hammond has other secrets. Like an enclosure with a tall fence to keep a larger dinosaur than the T-Rex in it.

XIII

Corrected entry: It was explained to Bruce when he was in the prison that Bane was attacked and treated by the doctor and was left in continuous pain and had to wear the mask but earlier in the movie it shows us that child who escaped was okay and could not have been Bane. (01:42:05)

Correction: Exactly. This is a plot point. Those who paid attention would have figured out who the child was before it was revealed.

Falling Skies (2011)

Show generally

Corrected entry: The show takes place in the Northeast US where there are many nuclear facilities. Without constant supervision and maintenance, these facilities would start to experience catastrophic meltdowns, causing the entire area to become uninhabitable.

Correction: This mistake entry relies on a number of assumptions. We have never been given a complete back story on the history of the world after the invasion. We don't know what we did with the power plants so we can't make the assumption that they were simply abandoned.

Aliens (1986)

Corrected entry: When the marines are in the dropship and ready to go to the planet below, the couplers release and the ship literally drops from the Sulaco which is in a gentle orbit. The dropship should have continued to move with the Sulaco in orbit.

Correction: Assuming that the planet has the same gravity pull as our Earth, all that would be required for the dropship to appear to "drop down" would be for the Sulaco to give the it "a push" and/or the dropship to push back.

XIII

I think it's the dropship's own propulsion system which sends it plummeting at high speed towards the planet.

Corrected entry: When the dwarves arrive at Rivendell they are escorted into a dining area with elves playing musical instruments. The elf playing the flute stops playing (closes her lips) but her flute continues to emit sounds, showing that the music is dubbed.

Snailkite

Correction: To play the flute [properly], you only need to have your lips partially/barely open. You can achieve different sounds when you alter the amount of air being passed through the flute. With the lip plate covering the lips, it would be difficult to say with absolute certainty that she closes them entirely. What I believe we saw was the lips going from barely open to partially open giving us the "illusion" that she closes them and opening them.

2 Broke Girls (2011)

And the High Holidays - S2-E12

Corrected entry: During the open, there is a tray holding two cupcakes in front of Max and Caroline, and Max removes one to put it in a box. The shot changes to a close up of Max during which her arm moves one time. The shot changes back to in front of them and now there are five cupcakes on the tray and Max removes one to put in the box.

Guy

Correction: After Caroline makes her little dance, she actually make TWO movements to her right. The first she picks up two cupcakes and then reaches for the last one with her right hand [while looking at Max]. 2 [on tray in front] + 2 + 1 = 5.

Skyfall (2012)

Corrected entry: On the boat to meet Silva. Bond takes the radio, switches it on, and puts it in his right pocket. After Silva has shot the girl and when the helicopters arrive to arrest him, Bond pulls out the radio from his left pocket.

Correction: So much time had passed, there was plenty of opportunity for Bond to move the radio.

Skyfall (2012)

Corrected entry: When the helicopter is flying towards Bond's old house, it is generally light outside. Just before Silva lands, it is already night.

Correction: 'Generally light' is a big over-statement. It is clear during the raid that the sun is well into 'sunset.' Silva would have planned the raid this way given the limited visibility at night. There are tall mountains at a distance in the surrounding the area, so when you look up at the approaching helicopter is may appear to be daylight but when it reaches the house it would be much darker.

Skyfall (2012)

Corrected entry: When Bond is on the tube train he looks at the underground map to see where Silva is going. They get on at Temple, get off at Embankment, the next stop, but after a short foot chase Silva comes above ground at Embankment, after dropping the train on Bond, but Bond comes above ground at Westminster, then proceeds to run up Whitehall.

Correction: After they get off at Embankment the chase leads them towards Westminster, the explosion (and the train wreck) obviously blocks Bond's path from chasing Silva any further. Bond already know Silva is heading towards Westminster so he heads there directly through the underground instead of trying to make his way through the wreckage, climb up and then head towards Westminster anyway.

XIII

Correction: This scene opens with Raj with a drink in his hands. Yes! he has been drinking.

XIII

Corrected entry: In the opening plane crash scene, as Bane is talking to the CIA guy, he says, "Dr. Pavel refused our offer in favor of yours. We had to find out what he told you." At the end of this line, if you listen carefully, you can hear Bane start to say something else, but gets cut off. (The original line in the script was "We had to find out what he told you about us.").

Brad

Correction: Bane being cut off while talking is not a mistake.

XIII

Corrected entry: This film portrays Australia's top-end as desolate and uncharted. In reality, it was very tourist heavy (even back in the 80's), and chances are Mick and Sue would have been constantly bumping into tourists during their hiking trip. Especially in the kakadu.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: Australia is one of the largest countries in the world. The outback is one of the most treacherous environments to go 'walkabout' without someone who knows the place. You could get lost very easily and if you do, your chances of survival is very thin. This wouldn't be true if it were bustling with tourist at every turn. The fact is, it is quite the opposite to what you have stated. Besides, this was "Mick's Place" a fictional land which would not be on the regular tourist route.

The No-Brainer - S1-E12

Corrected entry: Right before the second body is found, Olivia interviews Luke Dempsey. After the second body is examined, while Peter leaves with the hard drives, Olivia says that she's going to interview Luke. She just did that.

Brad

Correction: With the discovery of a second body and Luke Dempsey is the prime suspect, why can't Olivia interview him again?

The Mummy (1999)

Corrected entry: When the sandstorm covers the plane with sand, all the characters have their eyes covered with goggles, but their ears and noses are not covered. Seems they are able to hear and breathe just fine with all that sand going into their nostrils, ears and mouths after they crash land in the desert. You can see Rick is able to talk to Ardeth and Jonathan while they are traveling inside the sand storm.

vinoth2803

Correction: It was be human instinct to close ones mouth if caught in a sandstorm. I assume that these characters would do the same. I have never heard of someone going deaf or have their noses completely blocked by sand. Unless you see otherwise (shown on screen) we can easily presume that they are not affected by the mystical sandstorm.
