Continuity mistake: When Dolores has Sybil Trelawney out in the courtyard, Sybil's suitcase in front of her is horizontal to us, even when she bumps into it, it remains horizontal. After Professor McGonagall comes over though, the suitcase is now diagonally positioned. (00:47:35)

Continuity mistake: When Harry shouts, "Expecto Patronum," he points his wand at 'his' Dementor as the Patronus repels it and it flees. Harry then stands and puts his wand arm down, but in the next shot his wand is still up, pointing to his right with the Patronus in mid-air. (00:04:00)

Continuity mistake: In the Room of Requirement, before the Christmas holiday, Harry compliments the DA on a job well done, and they clap. There are two consecutive shots of the group from different angles, and between shots Cho's wand turns upside down and another girl's wand changes hands, etc. (01:01:25)

Continuity mistake: When Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville and Luna are held in Umbridge's office, their confiscated wands, which lie on her desk (Umbridge's lies on the lace doily), change positions repeatedly between shots, and also note the wand on the floor. (01:35:50)

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the Yule Ball, when Ron and Hermione walk to the staircase, seated on the stairs are two girls who are comforting a third girl in the center. When Hermione shouts, "Ron you spoiled everything," the girls' positions change between shots. (01:18:20)

Continuity mistake: When HRH are in the Great Hall, there is a toast caddy on the table in front of Harry. Certain pieces of toast disappear and reappear or rearrange themselves, depending on the camera angle, from the start of this scene when Harry dribbles on himself, through Ron's reaction to his dress robes.

Continuity mistake: In the Great Hall, when Ron takes the dress robe out of the box, there is a plate beside Hermione which has two utensils on its left side and one utensil on its right. However, when Harry says, "It does match your eyes," and in another following shot, there is only one utensil on the plate's left side - the knife is now on the other side. (01:06:00)

Continuity mistake: After Harry's vision of Arthur Weasley's attack, he has the first Occlumency lesson with Snape. The windows behind Harry have a diamond shape pattern, with horizontal and vertical divisions on the glass. In the last shot, as Snape orders Harry to focus, when the camera dramatically pans out through these windows there is only a diamond shape pattern on the glass. (01:09:45 - 01:10:50)

Continuity mistake: In the Great Hall, when Harry dribbles on himself, the plate to Hermione's right (as she holds The Daily Prophet up) has food and utensils lying on it. However, in the following shots, there is only an empty plate with utensils set on both sides, beside Hermione. (01:05:00)

Continuity mistake: During breakfast in the Great Hall, after Harry dribbles on himself, he and Ron are seated right beside one another and likewise their plates. When Nigel brings the box, all of a sudden there is a huge gap between them and a convenient open space on the table to place the box. (01:05:05)

Continuity mistake: When Frank Bryce places the silver water kettle on the flame, the round ceramic lid rests on the counter, beside the small ceramic teapot. However, in the next shot, as Frank steps toward the sink, the ceramic lid is actually on the small teapot. (00:01:20)

Visible crew/equipment: After Beauxbaton's entrance into the dining hall, Fleur bows in a close-up with the wood platform directly behind her, and then Dumbledore kisses Madame Maxime's hand. In the next shot, when Dumbledore quickly runs up onto the platform to introduce Durmstrang, there is a white mark on the wood which he promptly stands on. This mark is not on the platform in either the previous or following shots. (00:17:40)

Continuity mistake: When Dumbledore is about to introduce the other schools and Filch comes running through the great hall, he runs past Ron twice on his way up to the podium. The first time Ron is sitting up and his head turns as Filch runs past. As Filch continues to run, he passes Ron again, who this time has been lying his head on his arms on the table, and sits up as Filch runs past. The people near Ron also change and keep changing. Continuity mistake: At the end, the wound on Harry's left cheek changes from a series of small scratches when he says good-bye to Dumbledore to a deeper more singular wound when he says good-bye to Ron and Hermione.

Continuity mistake: During the second task, just as Krum and Hermione pop up from underwater and Krum's sharkhead disappears, in this specific shot Fleur (NOT another Beauxbaton student) stands on the platform in the background and her hair is fairly dry, blowing a bit in the wind. However, in a following close-up, Fleur's hair is soaked and stringy.

Continuity mistake: In the dorm, after Ron moans, "Yeah, that's me, Harry Potter's stupid friend" as Harry leaves his bed and walks to Ron, there is a single rectangular window beside his bed and another window about a foot above it. Later, after the Yule Ball, in the exterior zoom-in shot the crow flies toward the side-by-side double window, arched at the top, as it heads for the window sill, and in the next interior shot, the crow lands on the sill as Harry sleeps beside that window. Continuity mistake: Straight after the second task Hermione wraps her own white towel round Harry, but between shots it jumps back to her shoulders, then back to Harry's several times. (01:35:05)

Continuity mistake: When Harry opens the letter from Sirius Black, he throws away the string that was tied around the letter. When it cuts, the string is back in his hand.

Continuity mistake: After Draco is changed back into a boy (from a ferret), Moody sticks his staff into the ground before he chases Draco around the tree. Initially his staff is leaning at a 45° angle, but when Draco comes around the tree and leaves the courtyard the staff is standing upright, at a 90° angle. (00:14:25)

Continuity mistake: When Dumbledore reveals the Triwizard Champions, in some shots one of the Weasley twins sits beside Harry and Seamus near the wall, along with Hermione, Ron, and Neville. In other following shots, both Fred and George are sitting together on the opposite side of the table.
