Corrected entry: In the scene where Christian Slater's character is talking to "Serious" (the kid who commits suicide), the letter he received from him is handwritten on lined paper. Earlier in the movie, there is a scene showing "serious" typing the letter on his computer. (00:07:55 - 00:25:55)

Correction: It's possible he was writing a draft. We don't see him actually print out the letter and mail it so it's possible he wrote a draft and decided to just do the final letter hand written.

Tremors (1990)

Corrected entry: Val climbs up a metal electricity pylon to try to help Edgar. They are in the middle of the desert at noon (note the shadows) - the metal of the pylon would be unbearably hot. Val would be badly burned, but he doesn't even wear gloves.

Correction: We don't know what time of year this film takes place in and it does get cold in the desert occasionally. It could be fall, spring or even winter for all we know. There are shots of tall mountains that have snow on them so it's hard to say whether it's cold or hot.

Cliffhanger (1993)

Corrected entry: When Gabe is trying to stop the girl from falling, Frank is rather obviously smiling and when she actually falls, he's laughing.

Correction: He is not laughing. He is wincing.

manthabeat

No, he is quite obviously laughing and smiling. In fact, watching the scene again, once Sarah's mechanism breaks, there is hardly a shot where he is not smiling.

Cocoon (1985)

Corrected entry: When the boat rises into the airship, you can see the wires that are pulling the boat up.

Correction: You're seeing the boat's antenna. I watched this scene carefully. I don't see any wires pulling the ship up.

Corrected entry: The dog falls from the Eiffel tower into water. There is no water around the Eiffel tower.

luke f

Correction: From the angle of the shot it is hard to tell which side the dog fell off. There is a river, the Seine, directly to the northwest of the tower. It can be seen in the shot where the hat is thrown. It is possible the dog landed in the river.

manthabeat

Correction: The Seine River is over 500 feet away from the base of the tower, so it's unlikely the dog fell there. However, there are two ponds on the sides of the tower, in the park area.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: At the end of the film when John and Holly get driven away on the back of what resembles a golf cart, the long shot of them clearly shows two dummies that nearly fall off when the cart sets off. (01:51:35)

Correction: They are real, they just move due to the cart accelerating as any normal person in the back of one would, if it took off too fast. I saw no evidence of them being dummies.

Tremors (1990)

Corrected entry: The radio that was taken up onto the roof was not battery powered and should not have continued working because it was no longer plugged into an electrical outlet.

Correction: Not necessarily. It is possible it is battery powered. I have had many radios this large in the past that have both battery and AC power.

manthabeat

Correction: The original post is correct. For a radio that size to be effective it would need to be attached to a DC car battery or converted to AC for a household plug. In any case this is a movie error.

sgrima

A radio like that can run on 6 D cells. Trust me, I've owned enough radios to know better. At this point this mistake is semantics.

Corrected entry: In the scene where the boy speaks for the first time in 9 months and he has left the family car to cry about 30 metres from them, the shadows formed by the boy and his sister (when she joins him to offer comfort) point in a direction completely opposite to the rest of the family back at the van when there is a close up on them. So as they move from one group to the other, it's obvious one group was filmed at different times of day.

Correction: Not true, the shadows cast by the family in this entire scene are relatively the same direction. They all go to the left of the group and the boy. The angle is the same each shot. The only difference in the shots is exposure, which is why one shot looks a tad bit darker than the other. They were filmed at relatively the same time of day.

U.S. Marshals (1998)

Corrected entry: The plane crashes, and Gerard and the other guards are fighting to get the prisoners out of the plane. Someone calls out for Gerard to leave the plane, as it is starting to sink, and you see the water level rise considerably. Gerard eventually leaves at least two of the prisoners behind, as there is no time to save them. In the next scene it is the following morning, and you see overview pictures of the crash site. The plane is up-side-down, but the water level isn't even near the planes windows. Not a chance that anyone would be at the risk of drowning in a few inches of water.

Correction: Thats because by the time morning comes around, the emergency services have discovered the crash site and have pulled the plane out of the water. I believe there is a crane holding the plane at this point.

Breakdown (1997)

Corrected entry: Near the start of the film Kurt Russell gets a little worried and speeds away from a garage after seeing someone he almost hit earlier. After a few minutes the Jeep breaks down. Kurt finds out after a while that some wires have come undone, he puts them back together and the Jeep starts. Later in the movie the guy that he almost hit told him that he undid the wires. How did the Jeep run for so long before it broke down?

Correction: The bad guys could have just left the wires loosely connected so the car would break down far enough away. Maybe the Jeep went over a bump and knocked the connections apart. I also believe that the reason is plot motivated. If the Jeep broke down near the gas station, J.T. wouldn't be able to pick Kathleen Quinlan up in the first place, they would have had the problem fixed and would have been on their way.

Raising Arizona (1987)

Corrected entry: When Nicolas Cage and John Goodman are wrestling in the trailer Goodman tries to get Cage off his back by rotating himself. The direction of rotation changes during the scene from clockwise to anticlockwise. (01:02:00)

Correction: Isn't it possible that Goodman stopped and then started rotating Cage in a different direction? There is a scene in between the change in direction, with enough time given.

Bastogne - S1-E6

Corrected entry: This episode was created on a set, so, in the scene where Buck, Babe, and Guarnere are looking across the open field at the other side at the trees and hear the Germans start singing "Stille Naucht", you can see that the trees are just painted on the wall of the set.

Correction: This scene you are referring to is computer generated imagery, it most certainly is not painted on.

manthabeat

Correction: This was done intentionally given the circumstances of the gag and there is enough time in between the two shots.

Cliffhanger (1993)

Corrected entry: After the bad guys kill Frank, Hal takes Frank's pocketknife and puts it into his LEFT leg pocket (right above his shoe). Later, towards the end of the fight scene with Craig Fairbrass, he quickly pulls it out of his RIGHT leg pocket!

Correction: He actually does take it out of his left leg pocket.

Toy Soldiers (1991)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Sean Astin is switching the radio receiver chips between the bomb and the R/C plane, the light on the terrorists wrist detonator goes off because it doesn't have a connection to the bomb (as it should). But when he plugs the chip from the radio controlled plane into the bomb the light goes back on. The whole point of switching the chips is that they can't communicate, so why would the light go on to indicate that they are back in communication?

Correction: They actually can communicate because it is mentioned that the chips should be the same, i.e. the one in the plane is the same kind of chip in the bomb device. If their intent was to make the light go out and stay out, the guy wearing the band would have probably noticed that the light went out, and thus would have investigated it. This is why the diversion was created by the boy with the asthma problem.

Poltergeist (1982)

Corrected entry: At the movie's beginning, why would the family bury a dead bird in a freshly planted flower garden, only to dig the whole thing up the next morning to put in a swimming pool?

Correction: This plot of dirt was moved by the people digging the swimming pool. They (the family) probably didn't originally want the garden to be dug up but in order to put in the pool, the workers had to.
