In one short moment, they're rollerblading around Minnehaha Falls, which is in Minneapolis (the scene where Goldberg goes down the stairs). The next, they are skating down Ramsey Avenue in St. Paul (the scene just before they are forced to jump over the rail). That's a distance of nearly 5 miles. This is within the space of seconds.

Factual error: Eddie drops Jake off near Madison, Wisconsin after he realises Jake just wants Allie back. Minutes before this, the background in the vehicle shots shown is in the mountains. Wisconsin, especially that part of the state, doesn't have mountains. Nearly the entire film was shot in British Columbia.

Factual error: Near the beginning, it's clear we're in Chicago because we're hearing a Chicago radio station. Clark turns the corner before nearly running into people in the road. You can see mountains in the background very briefly. The Griswold house was one of the properties on the Warner Brothers Ranch in Burbank, California which has since been demolished.
