The Monster Squad (1987)

Corrected entry: When the monster squad first encounter the Mummy, Sean mentions it is 20 minutes till midnight. A few other scenes happen next before the boys arrive at Times Square. However, the clock in Times Square shows only a few minutes have passed.

SAZOO1975

Correction: The scenes you referenced are actually happening all at the same time. For instance, The kids are battling the Mummy at the same time Dracula is blowing up the treehouse, so it makes sense that only a few minutes have passed.

Corrected entry: When Terri goes outside to go home, as she walks towards her bike, you can see someone upstairs walking by the window. Must be a crew member because Tina and Jimbo are in bed having sex and Ted, Sarah and Doug are watching the film downstairs. Paul and Samantha are dead. There is nobody left in the house. (00:51:15)

SAZOO1975

Correction: It was her twin sister in the window. She even says "You slut!"

Correction: She's looking upstairs because she knows her sister is up there. But the shadow is a different window. Different shape.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: When Trash is being attacked by zombies, she is wearing a jacket. However when she comes out of the puddle as a zombie, she is once again fully nude.

SAZOO1975

Correction: It is very plausible that Trash's jacket was torn off as she was being attacked.

Corrected entry: As the vortex is going through, Frankenstein's monster is saying goodbye to Phoebe, while Phoebe is pleading with him to stay. At one point Phoebe is holding Frankenstein's monster with both hands. Then after he gets sucked into the vortex, she throws him her stuffed dog. How can she hold the monster with both hand and still keep the stuffed dog without it going into the vortex?

SAZOO1975

Correction: Earlier in the film, Phoebe is showed having the stuffed dog clipped to her belt. It could have easily been there before she tossed it to Frankenstein, keeping it from being sucked into the vortex.

Sliders (1995)

Season 1 generally

Corrected entry: In the episode where the Sliders go to the world where Quinn sees himself as a child attending his father's funeral, Quinn helps his young self deal with bullies. Quinn repeatedly mentions it was all happening exactly the way it did on Earth Prime. The flaw here is that in the series premiere episode, they showed a picture of Quinn, his mom and dad. Quinn was a teenager in that picture, not a kid. Therefore the events in the alternate world could not be happening the exact same way. And we know his mother never remarried and the man in the picture could not have been a stepfather because throughout the whole series they repeatedly show Quinn's father and he is the very same person in the picture.

SAZOO1975

Correction: The odds of everything happening the EXACT same way is too thin for it to actually happen. Just like the first world that he Slid into, it was just a VERY similar world, although not exactly the same. It's the same case here, Quinn was just wrong in his assumption.

Knever

You're missing the major point. The picture with Quinn and his parents in the pilot shows he was older than 11 at the time. But in "The Guardian" we learn Quinn's father died when he was 11, which he remembers, that's not Quinn being wrong in his assumption. The days of the bullying occurred on the exact days he remembered because the events were the same, which is why he was able to be there at the right time. Even his dog running away was the same.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: After Sex Machine bites the trucker, the trucker throws Sex Machine through the door or wall, letting in all the vampires. But later, Seth needs Carlos to break the door down in order to let in the sunlight, killing all the vampires. What happened to the big hole made by Sex Machine when he was thrown outside? Why didn't that provide the sunlight needed to kill the vampires?

SAZOO1975

Correction: Enough time has passed for the group of survivors to prepare to fight the vampires. So the vampires very well may have sealed the hole to prevent sunlight from coming in, and the survivors from escaping.

MasterOfAll

Corrected entry: Immediately before the rest period before the beginning of sudden death overtime, the announcer says there are ten seconds left in the period. However Mike begins kicking Daniel and only two seconds later the buzzer sounds for the end of the period.

SAZOO1975

Correction: The clock doesn't stop running in tournaments like this. If you start counting seconds from the time the announcer says that to when the buzzer sounds, it is 10 seconds.

Godzilla (1998)

Corrected entry: In Madison Square Garden, the French guy smashes Animal's camera, breaking it. When they are again being chased by the baby Godzilla's, Animal runs back to get his tape but leaves the broken camera on the ground. However, when they are being chased by Godzilla in the cab, Animal all of a sudden has another camera to film the chase. Where did he get this camera? When he packs his bag at the house, we see him put only one camera in there. Plus the bag is only big enough to fit one camera anyway.

SAZOO1975

Correction: They took the second camera from the Madison Square Garden's studio.

The Karate Kid (1984)

Corrected entry: When Daniel and Mr. Miyagi are on their way to the part of the arena where Daniel will have his 1st match, you see a group of Kobra Kai's, led by Johnny and his boys, running by them and shoving Daniel. However, as soon as Daniel gets to his circle, you can see Johnny and his boys already there and looking on.

SAZOO1975

Correction: All this is done to intimidate Daniel. They jog by and shove him, then jog to his first match. Since he doesn't even know where it is initially they have plenty of time to beat him there.

Incorrect because just a few feet away you can see his opponent kneeling down waiting for him. When Daniel gets there, the bullies who shoved them were already there.

Snakes on a Plane (2006)

Corrected entry: When the plane hits turbulence luggage in the overhead compartments begin to fall on passengers. There is a shot where a piece of luggage falls and hits the baby on the head. The mother has no reaction to this and a few scenes later the baby is okay. A baby that small being hit on the head would cause severe head injury and the baby would not be able to recuperate that quickly.

SAZOO1975

Correction: I just watched this movie and the luggage does not hit the baby at all. It comes close but it actually falls and hits the corner of the blanket that is just hanging there.

Correction: In Apocalypse, the only one she was able to "sniff out" was Angie. Carlos and Jill's partner were bitten and showing signs of infection when Alice noticed [Carlos coughed, and Peyton staggers in pain]. Angie and her were both injected, but lived normally. That might be the only type of infected that Alice is able to sense. Since LJ was bitten in this film, she wouldn't be able to sense that he was infected.

Commando (1985)

Corrected entry: When Matrix is holding Sully by the ankle over the cliff to get the information from him, just above Sully's head you can see an arm holding a microphone. (00:39:30)

SAZOO1975

Correction: Nothing is visible during this scene.

Pitch Black (2000)

Corrected entry: When they are determining what they need to get the ship at the settlement working, they say they need five power cells to get it running. However they only bring four back with them.

SAZOO1975

Correction: She says they "need five. Five total". They brought one with them from the crashed ship on the first trip back after discovering the settlement. They then went back to get four more, which is when we see them returning with the four power cells. She had them bring the one to test if the power cells would be interchangeable with the ones on the settlement ship. When they found they worked, they brought back the others.

The Mist (2007)

Corrected entry: When the bugs fly into the store and begin attacking people, one of the bugs lands on the chest of Mrs. Carmody. She looks down to it and says, "My life for you." This is a reference to The Stand, also by Stephen King. In The Stand, Trashcan Man repeatedly says, "My life for you" whenever he sees Randall Flagg.

SAZOO1975

Correction: Actually, this is a reference to a biblical passage: "Peter said to him, 'Master, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.' Jesus answered, 'Will you lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny me three times.'" (John 13: 37-38)

Sliders (1995)

The Exodus (1) - S3-E16

Corrected entry: At the end of this episode, Quinn finds Earth Prime. He knows this is the right place because of the necklace his mother is wearing that he left for her before he began sliding. When he 1st approaches the house, he opens the gate and it squeaks which is his 1st clue that he was home. However at the end of the episode titled Into The Mystic, they thought they went home only to find the gate not squeaking. After they left it was revealed that the gardener had oiled the gate. If in this episode they are back home, then the gate should no longer squeak.

SAZOO1975

Correction: Oil wears off. That's why the gate started squeaking to begin with, prompting the gardener to eventually oil it.

Phixius

Corrected entry: At the Hogshead's Inn, when the students are meeting with Harry to determine if they want him to train them, they begin naming some of his accomplishments. Nevill makes mention that Harry killed a basilisk in Dumbledores office, when, in fact, Harry killed the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, not Dumbledores office.

SAZOO1975

Correction: Neville actually says: "He killed the Basilisk with that sword in Dumbledore's office", meaning that Harry killed the Basilisk with the sword that usually resides in Dumbledore's office, and not meaning that Harry killed the Basilisk in Dumbledore's office with a sword.

28 Weeks Later (2007)

Corrected entry: In 28 Days Later, they make mention that the virus spread as far as New York. However in this movie, they make it seem like the virus was only in England and nowhere else.

SAZOO1975

Correction: While it is rumored in this film that the virus has spread outside England, another character does in fact point out that it would be impossible seeing as how you know within 10 seconds or so if you have the virus or not. Customs would see you coming from a mile away, making it impossible to spread past the island.

Stefanie

So how does it spread to France? Why wasn't the French military guarding the tunnel, or even blocking access completely?

The Monster Squad (1987)

Corrected entry: They make a big scene that a virgin is needed to read the text from Van Helsing's diary in order to get rid of the monsters. After Patrick's sister fails because it turns out she isn't a virgin, everyone freaks out until they realize Phoebe could help them out. Not once is it mentioned the virgin had to be a female. So why couldn't the 12 year old boys read from the diary and get rid of the monsters?

SAZOO1975

Correction: First: 4 out of 5 definitions listed for "virgin" refer to females. http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/virgin Second: In all of mythology and folklore, virgin always refers to females. The gods asked for a virgin to be sacrificed, the women/girls were gathered not the people that have never had sex. When some bit of folklore needs to be read aloud by a virgin, odds are they are asking for a girl.

Rlvlk

You would be correct in the correction, however that doesn't explain how Scary German Guy can summons the vortex. And yes I will say that because when Dracula was going after Phoebe, Scary German Guy was still reciting the text yet Phoebe wasn't repeating it, just whimpering. Yet the vortex still showed up.

lartaker1975

But Phoebe repeated the exact phrase the peasant girl did in the opening scene, those seem to be the key words that unlock the vortex.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'd disagree. Looked up a couple clips of the scene on YouTube, and they make a point of showing Phoebe repeating most of the words near-perfectly (at least as close to perfectly as a small child under distress could do) between whimpers. And I think you could make a compelling argument that even if she doesn't say them all 100% perfectly - say she's just barely whimpering some of them out between cries - it'd still count for the spell.

TedStixon

I disagree. I've watched this movie hundreds of times. All we hear is her whimpering because she's scared. No indication is given that she's still talking.

lartaker1975

I just looked up the scene again. They show her repeating the words perfectly and completing the spell after Frankenstein throws Dracula away from her. There's really only a few seconds in the entire scene when we hear her whimpering instead of saying the words perfectly. I still think it's within reason to argue that she did enough for the spell to work, but we'll just have to agree to disagree.

TedStixon

Corrected entry: In this movie, Professor Flitwick was in human form. However in all the other Harry Potter movies and even in the books, he was a troll-like creature. I know this movie had a different director and they sometimes change things a bit, but at least keep the characters looking the same.

SAZOO1975

Correction: Most things (school robes, Hogwarts geography, ect) are different between each of the films. It's not a continuous series, the way LOTR is.

Ssiscool

Mistake is still valid. Clothing and buildings can easily explained when they change. But even in the wizard world, changing from a creature to a human? Come on.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: Numerous times while in the outside, you cannot see their breath in the cold. For example while Lexx is being persuaded on the ship by the two men to help with the expedition, because of the cold, you should be able to see their breath, but you don't. They are in Antarctica which should be very cold.

SAZOO1975

Correction: As explained several times for other movies, visible breath has nothing to do with cold. It is the humidity of the air around you that matter.

Twotall

This is a misunderstanding of the role humidity plays in seeing your breath. Seeing your breath is the result of your breath and outside humidity combining to be 100% relative humidity, meaning you're able to see your breath at higher temperatures if outside humidity is high enough. You can affect relative humidity by increasing humidity or decreasing temperature. This means at certain temperatures (usually below 45°F) you'll always see your breath. Given the Antarctic temperatures in the film, we should always see their breath, no matter what the humidity is.
