Corrected entry: Near the end of the film, when Bernadette's hair is long, she has it nicely pulled back with bobby pins and a barette. Where did she get the barette? The other girls with long hair either don't do anything with it, or keep it fastened in a braid or pony tail with a rubber band.

Correction: She could have hid them when she arrived. If using bobby pins and a barrette is a 'no-no', then the rebellious Bernadette would have worn them just to annoy the nuns.

Correction: More than likely she is living with her dad - it was mentioned in series 6 that Donna's dad is also looking after her chav-like brother.

Corrected entry: The rods of plutonium are transparent red, whereas real plutonium is a silvery metal.

Correction: More than likely they would have used a dilute plutonium compound (According to Wikipedia the red colour suggests Plutonium (IV) chloride, rather than pure plutonium metal, which is highly dangerous to handle outside controlled conditions, as it emits enough gamma radiation that would kill Marty and Doc within seconds.

Corrected entry: Right after Proctor goes into the elevator they begin to play for the "new" people on the academy. But when they play you see Jones playing the guitar but he is playing on the backside of it.

Correction: Normally a mistake, but remember Jones (Michael Winslow) has a rubber larynx and can imitate any sound - it's possible that it was in the script.

Eastenders (1985)

Show generally

Corrected entry: Den Watts faked his death in 1989 when he allegedly fell into the canal after being shot. A body later recovered from the canal was wrongly identified as Den. Den returned to Walford in 2003. During those fourteen years he was living in Spain. The trailers preceding the show when Den made his return from the dead showed him arriving at immigration control and presenting his passport. UK passports last 10 years before needing renewal, so how did Den renew his passport without arousing suspicion if he hadn't returned to the UK during those fourteen years? Wouldn't the passport office and the police get suspicious about a dead person renewing their passport?

Correction: It's possible no-one noticed. UK passports can be obtained at British Embassies/Consulates all over the world (I have an aunt living in the USA - she acquired one through the British Embassy in Washington)- no one would think of checking that that the applicant was still alive, especially if the photo in their previous passport confirmed it was them.

Corrected entry: When Bond is leaving Tatiana alone in the train compartment for the first time, he asks her to lock the door and says he'll knock the door three times as he returns, so she'll know it's him. Now, isn't the three knocks just what a lot of people do by nature? Not very clever, secret spy-tactics that one.

S.Holmes

Correction: Bond obviously means he will make three pronounced knocks with a gap between each one. When people usually knock, they knock quickly with no pauses inbetween.

Corrected entry: After the DeLorean is destroyed by the train, Marty goes to get his truck, picks up Jennifer, almost races with Needles, and then finally returns to the scene of the accident. Isn't it odd that a car was hit by a train, yet there are no emergency vehicles anywhere around, or that the train didn't stop afterward?

BGraz

Correction: There are two reasons why there are no emergency vehicles - one, the train driver wouldn't have noticed the car (trains are usually too fast to notice), or the train driver assumed that Marty (as he escaped) would report the accident. As for the train stopping, it was probably going too fast to stop quickly (more than likely it would have stopped much further down the track if it did).

Evolution (2001)

Corrected entry: Throughout the film, Duchovny calls the splitting of the alien organisms to form 2 identical ones 'mitosis.' This is not the correct term. Mitosis refers to the replication of material at a cellular level, and happens in all living organisms. Since they are multicellular creatures, they are having 'fission' reactions, which is the creation of 2 identical creatures, like for example hydra. A former government scientist and professor should know the difference. It is basic biology.

Correction: Obviously, mitosis is what was the first thing that came into his mind to describe this process (it is new to him too). Besides, fission processes do NOT always result in the creation of two identical bodies - it just simply means the division of a cell (or atom, the term is normally used in nuclear physics).

Corrected entry: Orville and Ma both race all the way to Bakersfield to warn Philo that the bad guys are on their way to get him. They knew exactly where he was going to be - why not warn him with a simple phone call instead of going through all the trouble of racing nearly 100 miles to warn him in person?

Correction: They're assuming that the bad guys would cut the phone lines to the motel, or they may not know its phone number.

The Simpsons (1989)

Much Apu About Nothing - S7-E23

Corrected entry: Kearney uses a fake ID to purchase alchohol, but it's already been revealed in previous episodes that he is old enough to drive, has a son, shaves, was around in the year 1976, so why does he need a fake ID?

Correction: He's a well known troublemaker. He may need to hide his identity (He may be blacklisted from certain places) or just force of habit (he's probably done it for a long time).

Andy Benham

Corrected entry: Throughout the film, during the 60s, the cars are shown with white rear number plates. In the UK, the cars had black plates with silver lettering, changing to white at the front and yellow on the back at the beginning of the 70s.

Correction: Actually, the newer style plates were in use from the mid 1960s, alongside the old black and silver versions until the early 1970s.

Anything You Can Do - S7-E6

Corrected entry: At the end, when they come up with their net loss, Mr. Goldberg, in his head, makes the loss eight pounds, 45 pence. But rudimentary arithmetic reveals that the figures make a net loss of eight pounds, 75 pence.

Correction: He probably made a mistake - most people will make errors in arithmetic at least once, especially when working with several values.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: When water crashes through the dome why is it that water isn't pouring through the windows a deck lower? One hasn't even broken from water pressure because there isn't any water even touching it. A moment before when we saw the smokestack fall, one could see the encasing of the dome and the stairs' roof was submerging. The windows below must be broken and flooding when the water is crashing through the dome. (02:36:35)

Correction: Glass is normally strong enough to withstand slight water pressure, and there is a probability that the windows are submerged on both sides, so the same force is imposed on each side of them, so they will not break.

The Inquisitor - S5-E2

Corrected entry: If The Inquisitor has generated a replacement Lister and Kryten, why does Holly not recognize the original Lister and Kryten's authorizations? They should have had the same authorization - certainly Kryten, who is registered as "Additional 001", indicating he is the one and only CPU that has been added to Red Dwarf's compliment during it's voyage; the replacement Kryten would likewise be "Additional 001".

Correction: Holly may also be programmed to recognise voices. The replacements would sound different to the original Lister and Kryten.

Red Dwarf (1988)

Justice - S4-E3

Corrected entry: During Rimmer's appeal against his 9,000 year sentence for second degree murder, Kryten's entire defence strategy is proving that Rimmer is "a jumped-up grease monkey" who would never be trusted with critically important repairs on the Red Dwarf - that is, the drive plate. The court accepts this and Rimmer is released. The trouble is, Rimmer WAS trusted with the drive plate repairs and he WAS responsible for the crew's death. Kryten's defence is wrong, and on the court's terms the charge is correct and Rimmer is guilty. It's not as if Rimmer and Kryten believe Rimmer is too dumb to be guilty - they know the facts of the case and they are under 'polygraphic surveillance'. Their opinions don't count, the facts stand, and Rimmer is doomed.

Correction: Kryten's argument was that whoever gave Rimmer the orders to repair the drive plate was at fault, and not Rimmer, as he was not properly trained to repair something as critical as a drive plate. Rimmer, never one to doubt his superiors, decided that he was at fault, so was found guilty in the first place.

Andy Benham

Wrong. Read the posting again. Kryten's entire defence strategy is proving that Rimmer is "a jumped-up grease monkey" who would never be trusted with critically important repairs on the Red Dwarf - that is, the drive plate. The court accepts this and Rimmer is released. The trouble is, Rimmer WAS trusted with the drive plate repairs and he WAS responsible for the crew's death. The fact that other people are equally responsible for the disaster is irrelevant. Rimmer was as guilty as anyone.
