Saw (2004)

Corrected entry: You can see the hole in Adam's shirt (in the scenes after he beats Zep with the toilet lid) where the bullet went through his shoulder, but it's obvious that there's no hole in his shoulder. It's visible when he's grabbing at it. You can see the blood-stained skin, but it's completely smooth, no hole or anything.

Nick Bylsma

Correction: This may, in reality, be the case. However, as far as suspension of disbelief is concerned, his shirt could easily have shifted positions so that the wound is no longer visible. There is no way to determine whether or not the wound *should* be visible in this shot, and so this can't be considered a mistake.

Corrected entry: T. Roosevelt tells Larry that he's just a wax statue and not a reincarnation of TR. Later on though Rebecca talks to Sacajawea like she's the real person.

Ian Hunt

Correction: Character decision, not a movie mistake.

They aren't reincarnations, but they have the memories of the people they are made to represent. Some of them, if uninformed, like Lancelot, may even think they are the real person.

Superman II (1980)

Corrected entry: When Clark trips and falls into the fire, his hand is uninjured, thus revealing to Lois that he's Superman. But his normal, regular glasses fall in also, and they're not damaged at all.

Correction: I've done that (with the glasses, not the hand) and mine were just fine.

Fantasia (1940)

Corrected entry: The movie shows a battle between Allosaurus and Stegosaurus, two dinosaurs that lived in the Jurassic period. Yet many other dinosaurs in this scene, including Triceratops, a Hadrosaur, and a Parasaurolophus, only lived in the Cretaceous period.

Correction: This boils down to artistic license. Events in nature don't spontaneously choreograph perfectly to music that wasn't written until millions of years after these dinosaurs walked the planet either.

V for Vendetta (2005)

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie when chief inspector Finch is looking out his window in the morning he mutters "It's your big day, are you ready for it." However, that morning was November the fourth, not the fifth.(v was planning his revolution on the fifth.

Correction: At midnight on the fifth, to be exact. Which means anything that's left to be done must be done on the fourth, making it a very big day for V indeed.

Corrected entry: The mistake pretty much all Robin Hood films make is to have the Sheriff of Nottingham simply called 'Nottingham' by his friends/ peers. This would only be the case with the Earl or Lord of Nottingham who, coincidentally, would have lived in Nottingham Castle (since it would have been his family's). The Sheriff didn't live in Nottingham as his duties covered the whole shire ('shire-reeve'= 'Sheriff'). It'd be like confusing the Governor of California with the Mayor of Los Angeles.

Correction: This isn't necessarily a movie mistake. It sounds more like arrogance on the part of the sheriff, expecting his associates to call him "Nottingham." His enemies do so only because that is what they are accustomed to hearing him called.

Phixius

Corrected entry: When Costner escapes after slashing Rickman's face, Rickman starts beating up the guard at the gate who let him get away. The shot is at right angles to Rickman throwing the last punch so we can see that his fist misses the guard's face by miles.

Correction: I've seen this movie countless times and I always thought this was intentional. The sheriff was so flustered that he missed. It fits with his next action of tearing his cloak as he tries to stalk away.

Phixius

Correction: Either one or both of them were not in the right frame of mind to be "communing" with the other side.

Corrected entry: After the cafe scene at the beginning of the movie, the camera pans across the 'dead' body of the gunman, who is still clutching the said weapon after shooting himself in the head. However, this cannot be possible, as the force of the shot would have blasted the gun out of his hand and across the floor.

Correction: Either he didn't die right away (it's possible, Google "Phineas Gage") or his muscles seized up sufficiently to allow him to maintain a postmortem grip on the gun.

Scream (1996)

Corrected entry: In the scene in Stu's kitchen at the end, when Billy has just been stabbed by Stu, Stu gives him the knife and is saying to Syd, "Everybody lives but us." When he says that they'll live because they have to plan the sequel, he is gesturing with his hands, with his pointer fingers pointed up. As he's saying, "'Cause let's face it baby, these days, you gotta have a sequel," his hands go in and out of the frame four times. Just as he says "these days," he has his middle finger up on his left hand instead of his pointer finger. Obviously deliberate on the actor's part, but pretty funny.

Correction: Not any kind of mistake in any way whatsoever.

Corrected entry: At the beginning when Jim Phelps is being briefed about the mission, the recording tells him that his "usual" team will be used, and then goes on to tell him who they all are and what their skills are. If they are his usual team, surely he would know this already? I know it tells the audience who the characters are but it makes no sense to tell Phelps that Jack can hack into any security system when he was most likely recruited for that very reason.

Correction: The IMF is just covering all their bases. It doesn't hurt Ethan to hear this information again; and if, for any reason, he should neglect to use a specific talent possessed by one of his team members resulting in a mission failure, IMF will be exempt from any responsibility for that critical error. Since when has the government *not* included exhaustive details in all of their correspondence?

Unleashed (2005)

Corrected entry: When the thugs go into the building after Danny near the end of the film, it is a 'skinhead' gang, the typical Aryan brotherhood group; yet one of the group members is black. Skinheads would not fight alongside a black man.

Correction: Just because the white guys have shaved heads doesn't automatically make them members of the Aryan brotherhood. I've had my head shaved twice and I'm no neo-nazi.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Superman is lifting the newly crated island to space, he stops pushing it, and the island continues into space. Then suddenly, as he looses weight and mass (because the island is gone), Superman falls down towards earth. If he does, so should the island. Alternatively, if the island continues into space, so should Superman.

Correction: Superman didn't simply stop pushing, he gave it a final heave that cleared it of earth's gravitational pull. Superman, however, was not clear of it, and having passed out he was no longer able to maintain flight.

Corrected entry: The main villain in this film (Ambrose) is supposed to be an active IMF Agent. A CIA operative can't apply for an auto loan without his superiors finding out, but a high-level agent of an entirely black-ops agency with the resources of the IMF can go completely evil, hire a subservient lacky and a whole army of henchmen, own a whole fleet of autos and motorcycles and an arsenal of explosives and weaponry, and the IMF has NO idea whatsoever until he crashes the plane (a task that would take extensive planning)? The movie seems to completely ignore the fact that this guy is a current employee of the US government and not some international criminal.

Correction: He's apparently not the one making the purchases. He's just the one making the decisions and giving the orders. As a "high-level agent" he knows how the IMF finds stuff out and takes the appropriate steps to avoid this. Pretty cut and dried.

The Polar Express (2004)

Corrected entry: In the scene where hero boy and the other children are watching Santa's sleigh fly through the air to leave the North Pole, you specifically hear Santa call one of the reindeer, "Donder". If you turn on the closed caption, it also says "Donder". Historically that reindeer's name is "Donner".

Correction: The reindeer known today as Donner were originally Dunder (the Dutch word for "thunder"). Dunder was later reprinted as Donder, which developed into Donner (the German for "thunder") Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Claus. So, historically, that reindeer's name was Donder first. Santa apparently still uses that name.

Corrected entry: In one scene where John Candy and Steve Martin are in the car, John Candy is adjusting the seat electrically, but later when he is driving he gets his coat caught on knobs. Why does the passenger side adjust electronically and the driver's side is manual?

Correction: The driver's side is also power-adjustable. The rotary knob controls the lumbar adjustment, and the metal hook-like tab that Del's coat gets caught on is a "quick-release" for rear seat passengers, so the seat-back tilts forward to allow entry and exit rather than having to using the power controls every time.

Monster House (2006)

Corrected entry: The nerdy character in the arcade voiced by Jon Heder was created using a combination of the facial and body features of two characters from his movie 'Napoleon Dynamite'. His mouth, eyes, and general facial features are Napoleon; his hair, mustache, and nose are Pedro.

Correction: This sounds like personal opinion to me, not verifiable trivia. I have seen all the special features on the DVD, and nowhere is this mentioned.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Indy is rescued by the children, there are two shots of the monkey in the window of the truck. As the monkey stands up the monkey gets an erection. The erection is not present in the second shot of the monkey.

Correction: The two shots are not consecutive. It went away in between shots.

Corrected entry: When Ethan opens the case with the G36 on the bridge, you can see that the weapon is not assembled. This includes the carry handle, which is connected to the rest of the weapon by two screws. Assembling the gun without a screwdriver in far less than a minute is quite a good timing, if not impossible. (01:04:35)

Correction: Who's to say they were normal screws? Ethan is a spy with amazingly advanced equipment. I'd hardly find it unlikely that he'd have access to an alternate method of securing the carrying handle to the body of the weapon.

The Lake House (2006)

Corrected entry: Jack the dog appears from nowhere early in the movie and is taken in by Alex. In the future, Kate, who has not yet met Alex, owns Jack and mentions her name in a letter sent to Alex. Since at that point in the film their paths had not crossed in either present or future, where did the dog's name come from? For that matter, where did the DOG come from?

Correction: I remember her saying " come on Jack, come on Jackie!" Jackie was said very quickly.

Correction: The dog was just a stray. Chronologically, Alex names him Jack after he realizes it's the same dog Kate has. Kate called the dog Jack because that's what the dog answered to at the time Kate began caring for it, having been called "Jack" by Alex. It's circuitous.
