Corrected entry: When Lyra first meets Ms. Coulter, Ms. Coulter's daemon is pinning Pan to the ground underneath the table. Shouldn't Lyra have felt this?

Brad

Correction: No. While it isn't explicitly spelled out in the movies, there's nothing in the film to contradict what is explained in the books: that it takes either a fair amount of concentration or extremes in sensation for one to feel what the other feels, see what the other sees, or hear what the other hears. Lyra is distracted by the charming Ms. Coulter, so she's not concentrating on Pan, and the golden monkey isn't applying enough pressure on Pan to gain Lyra's notice.

Corrected entry: During the battle at Bolvanger, Iorek kills one of the enemy soldiers by crushing him under his feet. The man's daemon disappears, ergo the man is dead. But you can hear him scream when Iorek picks up his body and tosses it away.

Correction: It could be anyone screaming; there is a large battle taking place, after all.

Phixius

Corrected entry: Miraz isn't crowned King until midway through the movie. Yet before that point, Caspian is still referred to as "Prince," so he isn't the King either. So who is? Miraz is identified as the Regent, but a regent is a person who reigns in place of a king who isn't of age yet or is otherwise unfit to rule; i. e. the other person is still King (and usually has some limited authority), although he doesn't rule yet. That does not seem to be the case here. Either Miraz should already be King, or if Miraz is a regent, Caspian should be King. This mistake is only in the movie; in the book, Miraz is King from the start.

Correction: You're talking about our rules/laws/customs. This is an entirely separate plane of existence. They do things differently there. Also, differences between books and their film adaptations are immaterial in regards to anything on this site.

Phixius

Corrected entry: Fireworks are shot up at the beginning of the movie (to announce the birth of Miraz's son) and at the end of the movie (for Caspian's coronation). For the Narnians to have fireworks, they must have gunpowder (and from the modern appearance of the fireworks, must have had it for some time), but if that's the case, why are their battles still fought with swords and crossbows? Shouldn't they have firearms by now?

Correction: Just because they've got something that resembles our fireworks doesn't mean they can (or want to) turn them into a weapon. Remember, magic exists in Narnia: there very well may be no gunpowder involved at all. At any rate, there's not enough info here to warrant a mistake.

Corrected entry: Why is there a sea of petroleum below Venice - and how can it be below the water line? (The basement is deeper than the distance from the surface of the ground to the surface of the water in the next scene).

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Petroleum has seeped into the sewer/catacomb system and is just floating on the surface of the water. It being below the water line is a simple matter of the basement being sealed off from the surrounding water.

I Am Legend (2007)

Corrected entry: When Robert Neville is playing golf, the camera is rotating around and you see him hit the ball. As he says "yeah," you can see two balls in a line. The camera then goes back down so you can see the dog's face and Robert swinging. You cannot see the balls as they are hidden, but Robert then hits the ball towards the hole. However having seen the shot beforehand, there were only two balls to hit and he couldn't have hit either cleanly like that as they where in a line.

Correction: You can see Robert use the club to move one of the balls into position to be hit.

Corrected entry: In the opening sequence in the movie, Miraz sends at least a half dozen soldiers to kill Caspian by massive crossbow fire while he sleeps. Later, none of the other members of the court of nobles has any clue that an assassination attempt was even made. Historically, unless an usurper wished to make plain that he killed the rightful heir, such blatant shows of force would not be used because of the near certainty that the act would be discovered by someone's spy. Another is that Miraz is made king by unanimous consent when Caspian, the rightful heir, re-emerges in league with the Old Narnians. It would make sense that at least a few nobles would have had pause or joined the rightful heir. Both of these are only plot holes in the movie and are departures from the plot of the book itself, which has a seamless plot.

Correction: These are all matters of opinion, from someone who apparently didn't much care for the changes made to the story. If Miraz kills Caspian and becomes king, who's going to prosecute him for the murder of Caspian? The nobles remained with Miraz because they felt he had the better chance of winning and because they wanted to hold on to as much power/authority as they could. Miraz would be more willing dole out favors to corrupted nobles than Caspian would.

Corrected entry: When they sail down the river (in northwest Brazil) and fall down the third waterfall, it's footage from the Iguazu waterfalls, which is located on the border of Brazil and Argentina. That part of the waterfall is called the Devil's Throat, which, as I see it, is impossible to survive. But, it's Indy.

Correction: "As I see it" being the operative phrase here. As you said: It's Indy. This issue falls under the jurisdiction of Suspension of Disbelief. It's not a movie mistake.

Phixius

Corrected entry: When Indy has the bazooka like weapon pointed at the Arc of the Covenant, Beloq and Indy are talking. At one point when Beloq is talking, a fly enters his mouth and he seems to have absolutely no reaction at all.

Correction: How is this a movie mistake? I wouldn't even call this a character mistake; that sounds exactly like Beloq. Too dignified to spit, sputter, or even momentarily falter in his speech.

Entrapment (1999)

Corrected entry: Ving Rhames seems to imply that his car had a 6 disc CD changer and a turbocharger. The car in the movie is a 1998 Jaguar XKR, which used a 4.0L NA V8 engine, which was not turbocharged. It could be argued that the character was just not aware of what motor his car had in it, but Rhames was so concerned about the car, it's doubtful that he was unaware of what his car had in it.

Correction: Aftermarket turbocharger kits are widely available.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: In the scene near the end of the movie when Russell Cates is flying the jet fighter, he says 'Tell my children I love them very much', then proceeds to fly his jet up into the UFO to blow it up. The problem is, in every scene previous to this when the UFO fired its laser beam, it destroyed everything it hit. Why didn't it destroy the jet when it entered the beam?

Correction: The beam hadn't been fired yet. If you watch closely you'll notice that every time a ship fires that particular weapon there's a sort of "two-phase" beam. The first phase sends down an apparently harmless beam of light, while the second phase seems to charge the beam with whatever destructive energy the aliens utilize. Russell flies into the beam during its first phase. By the time the beam is charged, Russell is inside the craft. When the beam blows up his jet, it causes the chain reaction that destroys the ship.

Hitman (2007)

Corrected entry: In a scene where agent 47 and Nikita are driving across an open plain, the location is typed out. It reads "Russia, border to Turkey". Russia, however, does not have a border to Turkey.

Correction: Sure it does. It doesn't share a border with Turkey, but it has a "border to Turkey"; after a relatively short drive through Georgia.

Corrected entry: When walking towards the temple in the opening scene, Indy finds an arrow in a tree. His helper tastes the poison and says, 'Poison's still fresh. Three days.' The other guy says, 'They are following us'. Well, if they were following them, how could they be ahead of them? And if Indy arrived by plane - and has a pilot sitting and waiting - how could a three day old arrow be a sign that the Indians were following them?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: It's just been three days since that arrow was made, meaning it hasn't been sitting in the tree for fifteen years and finding it was mere coincidence. If the poison was fresh to the day then it would likely come from natives who just happened to be in the area hunting. Since it's three days old, that tells us someone had to do some hunting while traveling a great distance with a ready-made supply of ammunition. Why else, and in that particular area at that particular time, but to keep track of our hero?

Phixius

Corrected entry: Frink couldn't have perfected his acid drill without being outside the dome where it also is.

Correction: Another possibility is that he just perfected his acid drill but was separated from it by the dome.

Correction: It's a gag, not a "deliberate mistake". No different than Homer's hair coming out like an unraveling thread, or the fact that it supported Bart's weight, or the fact that Homer and Bart were able to drive around on the dome like they did.

Phixius

Corrected entry: To reach the battle ground at the Narnian headquaters, the troops had to travel through the woods. The trebuchets were also able to make it through the dense woods without any problems, even though they are much larger than the trees.

Correction: Trebuchets can be disassembled and made more compact for transportation.

Phixius

Corrected entry: When Doc is on the clock tower in 1955 during the storm, a closeup of his feet is shown. He is wearing shoes with velcro straps in this shot. Velcro did not yet exist in 1955, and Doc had not yet traveled into the future.

Correction: The concept behind Velcro was conceived in 1941, the idea was submitted for a patent in 1951, and the patent was granted in 1955. Not impossible that Dr. Emmett Brown, a member of a wealthy family and fellow inventor, could acquire some.

Phixius

In a deleted scene the Doc is shown going through his future self's belongings and finds the Velcro shoes in his luggage along with the hairdryer that Marty uses as "Darth Vader." Doc simply "stole" the shoes from himself.

Corrected entry: Ruling out divine intervention, the scourging Jesus receives would not have been survivable. The beating with the roads and whips could be survived. However the whips embedded with sharp pieces of metal were used for executions, usually for soldiers who had deserted. After about 20 strokes so much skin and muscle would be torn off the back that the internal organs would be exposed. In addition, there is an enormous amount of blood left on the ground. That amount of blood loss would have been fatal. Death would follow swiftly.

Correction: Which is why, for the purposes of the movie, divine intervention is not ruled out. The scourging didn't kill Jesus because he was meant to die on the cross. It is established, within the context of the movie, that God and Satan exist and that Jesus is the son of God.

I Am Legend (2007)

Corrected entry: All the 'spare' cars would be seized up and have other problems making them generally non-working from lack of use for 3 years.

Correction: He doesn't drive every car he comes across. He merely used and maintained a few cars.

Corrected entry: Marion changes into the red pants and embroidered white shirt once they get to Egypt. This shirt is actually a traditional Ukrainian national costume blouse, not anything likely to be purchased at a market in the Middle East. In fact, this shirt was purchased in the Ukrainian store Arka on the Lower East Side of NYC, where they display a signed picture of Karen Allen wearing it.

Correction: The Black Sea separates Ukraine from many of the countries generally considered to be part of the "Middle East". Trading over sea would have been the norm in the time this film is set. It is not impossible for that shirt to be found in Egypt, considering this. Especially not when you also consider the type of fare normally found at these markets; they've got great variety from many places. Trade for these people isn't just a business, it's a livelihood; and the only way to stay successful is to have something to sell that no one else is selling. That shirt would be a rare find in such a place, to be sure, but that doesn't make this a movie mistake.

Sweeney Todd (2007)

Corrected entry: Before "By The Sea," it's only Mrs. Lovett and Todd, but when the song is over, Toby magically appears there as well.

Correction: Just because he wasn't in the previous shot doesn't mean he wasn't playing nearby and simply came over near the end of the song. They are on a picnic, and children do like to run around when outdoors.
