The Postman (1997)

Corrected entry: The General is drinking what appears to be lemonade with apparently fresh lemon slices in the jar. Where do the townspeople get fresh lemons in Idaho/Oregon? (01:23:20)

Noman

Correction: From a lemon tree, which can be grown indoors in a large planting pot. The internet is rife with instructions on how to grow lemons in the Pacific Northwest. Not that the characters in this film had internet access, just that it can easily be done and someone in that village knew how.

Up (2009)

Corrected entry: During the thunderstorm scene, Russell slides down the hallway and the front door opens towards him. This shouldn't have been possible given that the house was tilting downwards.

Correction: The extremely powerful winds blowing all around the house pushed the door open.

Phixius

Corrected entry: In the scene where the Winter Soldier pulls Cap from the water, the undamaged SHIELD HQ building can be seen in the background, despite it just having had a Helicarrier crash into it.

GillBill

Correction: The building is called the Triskelion, after its shape of three branches or arms extending out from the center. The helicarrier crashed through just one of those arms, and only two arms are visible in this shot. The building is not undamaged, we simply can't see the damage from this angle.

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Correction: He's not completely clean, his hair, skin, and clothes are all slightly stained brown. The chocolate was thick enough that it all sloughed off him as he emerged from the pond, but he's still got a darker tint from having been in there.

Phixius

Corrected entry: Early in the film Captain America pins a guard reaching for an alarm using a throwing knife through his hand. He then knocks the guard unconscious who then drops to the ground, even though his hand was never unpinned from the wall.

THGhost

Correction: His hand was not pinned to the wall, it was just stabbed. He held his hand where it was because he was frozen from the shock of pain. Even if his hand HAD been pinned to the wall, Cap's parting shot would have delivered enough force to the thug's body to dislodge the knife.

Phixius

Corrected entry: If Max, when he was asked to choose which one was the real ice crystal, knew that it was around the Ice Princess's neck because he saw it in his dream, why did he beforehand draw a picture of a heart when describing it, when it is shaped as a crystal and why did he try to get the fake one when he knew it wasn't the real one and froze Lavagirl?

Correction: In his dream, it may very well have been shaped like a heart. He chose the wrong crystal first because, at the penultimate moment, he did not have enough faith in his dream to risk this decision.

47 Ronin (2013)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Oishi and Kai escaped the slave fighting pit and they are both walking alongside their horses, talking to each other, they stand still and Oichi gives clothes to Kai. Afterwards, Oishi gets on his horse from the horses' right side, while having his sword strapped in his belt. The whole reason we (the people of today) still get off and on horses from the left is exactly because of swords. Swords were carried on the left, which meant you'd have to get on your horse from the left for the sword not to be in your way. Oishi does the complete opposite to stay in the shot with Kai. A little later Kai gets off his horse from the right side to stay in the shot with Oishi. (00:49:40)

Correction: He successfully mounts the horse, doesn't he? There's no law against mounting a horse this way, nor is it physically impossible. Something being awkward does not make it a mistake.

Ender's Game (2013)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the bully corners Ender in the science room, the bully is smacked onto the ground and his hands land on many shards of glass. In the next shots, his hands are not bloodied. (00:05:35)

Josh Sam Nich

Correction: Touching broken glass does not cut you. Even smacking broken glass won't cut you. To cut, the broken glass must slide along your skin. There was no sliding here.

Phixius

Correction: If you do much turning of the wheel while driving in a straight line, you're doing it wrong.

Phixius

Not like in the western where it appears to move constantly.

Ssiscool

Corrected entry: When everyone is playing "Charades," the Invisible Man shakes his head. The earpieces on his glasses open and close while his head is shaking. This would mean not only is he invisible, he would have no substance.

Correction: It's just a trick of perspective, they don't really open and close. As he turns his head, the angle from which we see the glasses makes it appear as though one arm has been folded in because we don't have any point of reference (such as a face) to show us that the frames have merely rotated.

The Purge (2013)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Mr. Sandin arms the home security system, the camera changes shots to the outside of the house allowing us to see the heavy duty steel sheets come down to secure the windows, but this is impossible, as they are solid and there is nowhere for them to have actually come down from. They are definitely not on rollers as when the group of purgers that break in when trying to retrieve the homeless man, they rip off the solid steel plates in one lump.

Robyn Laura Ewing

Correction: The outer walls of the house and the inner walls of the rooms are not two sides of the same wall. There is space between the two walls for studs, plumbing, wiring, and, in this house, steel plating.

Tangled (2010)

Corrected entry: Eugene's final act before he dies is to cut Rapunzel's hair, so he could free her by making Gothel age to death. How did he know that would happen? The only way he could have figured this out is if Rapunzel told him Gothel was only keeping her around to preserve her youth, but it's doubtful that even Rapunzel knew it, and even if she did then she never mentioned it.

Correction: He didn't cut Rapunzel's hair to kill Gothel. He cut Rapunzel's hair so that she would be unable to heal him, thus removing himself as leverage for Gothel to force Rapunzel to do her bidding, thereby allowing Rapunzel to free herself from Gothel's thrall. Gothel dying was just an unanticipated bonus.

End of Days (1999)

Corrected entry: The blood splatter strains in Arnold's illusion of his wife and daughter's death are wrong. When a body is shot, the blood comes out in aerosol form from the exit wound. The stains on the wall look like they were squirted with a ketchup bottle.

Correction: The initial blood spray from the creation of the bullet exit wound would not look like that, no. But if the bullet had severed an artery on its way through then the blood patterns on the walls would look exactly as depicted.

Mary Poppins (1964)

Corrected entry: After the chimney sweeps leave the Banks' home, Michael starts to leave too. He says "Good luck, guvnor" to Mr. Banks, who then appears to speak two words but there is no sound.

Correction: He working his mouth in consternation. He's at a loss for words. He doesn't know what to say but feels like he really ought to say something. He appears to speak but there is no sound because he is trying to speak but can't make any sound. It's part of the performance, not a movie mistake.

A Few Good Men (1992)

Corrected entry: Just prior to the performance of the Marine Silent Drill Platoon at the very beginning of the movie, the scene opens with an image of the U.S. flag blowing in an apparently brisk wind. As the scene continues, trees in the background are essentially motionless and leaves on the ground are not moving.

Correction: I have heard, rather than felt, the wind blowing through the trees countless times throughout my life. Air currents move independently at different altitudes and locations.

Jack Reacher (2012)

Corrected entry: If the shooter was parallel to the victims, on the bridge, then the police would have known where the shots had come from. Especially the water-bottle shot. If the shots had come from a 90-degree angle (as compared to shots from the parking garage) they would have definitely known it.

Correction: They did know where the shots had come from. The reveal was not that they came from a different location than supposed, but that the man framed knew better than to shoot from the location the shooting came from, thus helping to prove his innocence.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: To speak to each other when they are out of the range of hearing each other, they have communication devices around their necks and they press it when they want to talk. But quite a few times sometimes they use it and sometimes they don't, eg, when Jake goes out with Sigourney in the helicopter, as Avatars, Jake wanders off and Sigourney speaks to him through the communications device, but later, when they are the same distance apart, she just talks to him normally.

kh1616

Correction: He's within hearing range, so choosing whether or not to use the radio isn't really a mistake.

Inception (2010)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie, we are shown that a person can be woken from a dream by giving them a "kick" OUTSIDE of their dream. This is demonstrated by Cobb being woken up from his Japanese temple dream by being dunked in the bathtub in the South America dream (Japan was dream level 2 and South America was dream level 1). However, the final "riding the kicks" sequence contradicts this by showing everyone getting a kick WITHIN a dream to wake up to the previous dream. Example: When Ariadne was inside Cobb's apartment (dream level 4), she jumped off the building which woke her up to the snow fortress (dream level 3). As she fell through the collapsing floor of the fortress, she woke up in the elevator (dream level 2), and she returned to the van (dream level 1) by falling inside the elevator. If the movie was consistent in its logic, Adriadne and the others should have been woken up from each internal dream by falling in the outer dream. The most likely reason why the writers couldn't keep this logic was because it would have prevented Cobb from staying in Limbo (i.e. the falling snow fortress would have woken him up).

Teru_Kage

Correction: You've got it backward. Yes, Ariadne woke out of limbo by jumping off the building, but that's because she died within that dream, not because the fall gave her a kick. The elevator crashing woke the team out of the snow fortress, the van crashing woke the team out of the hotel, and the timer on the machine woke them out of the rainy city. Remember how they mentioned that the first attempted kick in the van must have failed (a fact they were aware of because they were still in the hotel) and so they'd have to wait for the van to hit the water to get the next kick?

Django Unchained (2012)

Corrected entry: Dr. King Schultz states that he is a bounty hunter and that's what allows him to shoot the sheriff of the town. However, the law allowing and regulating bounty hunting and bounty hunters in the United States did come into effect until 1873. Since the setting of the film is 1858, it is not possible for him to be a bounty hunter at that time.

Correction: The 1873 Supreme Court case Taylor v. Taintor expanded upon and more defined the laws surrounding bounty hunting and what authority a bounty hunter holds, but there were still laws in place concerning bounty hunting well before this.

Scream (1996)

Corrected entry: When Sidney and Ghost face are fighting in her living room he knocks her down and is sitting on top of her. Ghost face grabs her by the hair and appears to headbutt her and pull her hair and slam the back of her head on the floor at the same time. She then puts her hand on her forehead.

Correction: So where's the mistake? She's lying on her back, he head-butted her in the forehead. Her forehead hurts now so she put her hand on it.

Phixius

Correction: They are fighting in her doorway entrance, not the living room.
