Question: Does anyone know why story lines on daytime soap operas drag on for months? You can watch 2 weeks of episodes, yet it will still be the same day on the soap.

Chosen answer: The writers for these soaps have to come up with new material on a daily basis. It's far easier for them to drag one story out than to come up with completely new plot lines ever other day.

Answer: It reminds me of the movie, Lonely are the Brave (1962). Kirk Douglas plays a modern day cowboy, who runs afoul of the law. He escapes into the wilderness on horseback. Just when he believes he got away, he crosses a busy highway at night and is hit by a truck.

Question: Looking for a movie title of around mid 80's, whereby the character has problems with seeing certain colours and if he physically see's red he would run superhumanly fast. If he saw yellow, something else would happen that I can't seem to recall. He was given a special pair of glasses that allowed him to control his powers. There is one scene where he chases a motorbike on a freeway. There is another scene where he avoids looking at a fire. The rolling credits end with him on top of a large building looking down on the city. Can anyone help?

Chosen answer: Sounds like "Super Fuzz." (http://imdb.com/title/tt0082924/)

Question: In screenwriting credits with more than one name, what is the difference between "and" and "&"?

Cubs Fan Premium member

Chosen answer: An ambersand (&) denotes that the people named wrote the script together, whereas the word AND denotes that the person named rewrote or added to the script. So "Screenplay by Tom & Dick and Harry" means that Tom and Dick wrote the screenplay and then Harry rewrote it.

Madstunts

Question: Can anyone help me find the title of this movie? The only thing I remember was that a man was torturing a woman, but she somehow managed to get a gun. She then proceeded to humiliate him by forcing him to eat a dead rat out of a trap and drink sludge off the floor.

Chosen answer: This sounds like the 1986 film, "Extremities" starring Farrah Fawcet as a women who is trapped in her home by a rapist. She is able to turn the tables on him, and he becomes the captive.

Question: I saw this movie when I was younger. I watched it on television, between 1997 to 2000. From what I remember, it's about: This girl (I'm guessing around 15 years old) is on this chat room and starts talking to this girl who says she's lost and can't find her way home. As the movie goes on we find out that the girl on the other end of the chat room is in a coma and has been for many years. The coma girl had somehow used her mind to talk to the girl on the internet, I guess. Anyways, by the end of the movie the girl that I think is 15 years old ended up helping the girl who was in the coma find her house (Neither girls knew she was in a coma) and she woke up from the coma in the hospital. It's not an animated movie. Does anybody know the name of the movie?

Chosen answer: This sounds like a television show called "So Weird". It was a Disney Channel show about a girl investigating the paranormal. This episode specifically is called "Lost" and first aired in early 1999.

Question: I remember a sitcom from a few years ago- it was about two grandfathers who live in Martha's Vineyard. One owns a book shop and most of the scenes play there. One is quite reserved, and the other is quite a ladies man. Any one know what this is?

Question: As a child, in the 80's, I saw a film about a man who was cursed to wear a bear's skin/coat. For many years, he was cursed, living in the wilderness. I recall a beautiful woman befriending him. I recall him being bathed, hair cut, beard shaved, nails clipped. I remember the coat being ripped from his flesh. And the end result is him being quite a handsome man. Sounds a lot like Beauty and the Beast, I know.but its not. It is not animated either. Thanks.

Chosen answer: Sounds like "Bearskin, or The Man Who Didn't Wash for Seven Years." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406565/

Question: I am looking for the name of a made-for-TV movie that started with the words "The Rape of ___", about a police detective who has a very cavalier attitude about rape until he is cornered in a basement by two criminals (and is without backup) and is taunted and raped by these men. The movie deals with his emotional/psychological problems as a result of his ordeal. The actor that played the lead role should have received an award, but I don't think he did and have never seen the movie again.

Chosen answer: The movie is "The Rape of Richard Beck" starring Richard Crenna, from 1985.

Question: I am looking for a sci-fi movie that involved a lady on a space ship. At one point in the movie she exercises by doing an un-parallel bar gymnastic routine. I believe she is the lone passenger on the ship, but she does talk to the captain over the PA. I also seem to recall that the captain is actually just a personality downloaded to the ships computer.

Chosen answer: Perhaps it's Nightfliers? Catherine Mary Stewart works out on uneven parallel bars and the captain appears as a hologram.

Question: I'll try to be as detailed as possible. This is a late 70's, early 80's movie. Tenants at a high rise apartment building were being killed off 1 by 1. The police thought the killer was the night doorman whose name was Vincent, but it turned out to be the day doorman who was jealous of all the attention the night doorman was getting from all the tenants. The night doorman and his catatonic mother were the last victims before the police found out the truth. Also the night doorman had a rich female tenant who had a crush on him and was always trying to invite him up to her place for cake.

Question: I seem to remember seeing an animated movie when my kids were small, mid 90's, that had a scene with an overweight, lazy dachshund rolling around on a skateboard. If I remember correctly the dog was owned by the "villain" in the movie but I'm not sure. My kids have been laughing at me for years because no one else remembers it and they say I dreamed it. Can anyone help me get the last laugh?

Chosen answer: It was the first Tom and Jerry movie.

Question: I'm trying to figure out what movie this is from: "I used to be an optimist, but I'm not anymore". The main character in the movie is a young girl and is told early on that she is an optimist, and learns what this word means. A lot of messed up stuff happens in the course of the film and when asked by a teacher to write an essay under the topic, "I used to be, but I'm not anymore" she writes her essay beginning with the above quote and reads it aloud to the class. Can ANYONE help me with this? It's driving me nuts.

Chosen answer: Sounds like "Just as Long as We're Together" by Judy Blume.

Question: There is this movie that I can't remember the name of - I saw in on TV back in the mid 90's. It was about a little boy who kept killing his family members. I think he also pushed someone else into a pool who drowned. I know it's a long shot but if anyone can help me name this movie, I'd be so appreciative. Thank you.

Question: Google can't seem to help me with this, so I'll have to ask you. A movie I saw sometime in the early 2000s, I think, featured a woman who has a little girl. This girl, who's autistic, is obsessed with building towers from playing cards or building blocks, to reach her father, whom she thinks is in the moon. The father had died in a climbing accident. Ring any bells? The movie's probably filmed between the years 1995-2002.

Chosen answer: It's called "House of Cards" from 1993. See: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107148/
