Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince picture

Corrected entry: After Draco is escorted out of Slughorn's party by Snape, and Harry begins to spy on them, you can see crew rugs used to quiet Draco and Snape's footsteps. The same rugs are visible earlier in the film when Harry and Ron walk down a corridor after Slughorn's class.

Correction: There is no rug in the corridor when Harry and Ron head toward Slughorn's Potions class (not "after"), and there is no rug in the corridor when Snape pushes Draco up against the wall, while Harry overhears them.

17 Again picture

Corrected entry: If Mike's girlfriend got pregnant in high school in 1989, and the movie takes place 20 years later, how can his daughter still be in high school?

Correction: The younger Mike could be about to turn 18 and so assuming Scarlet was a month gone 8 months later would mean Mike would have been 18 when the baby was born. The older Mike could have only just turned 37 so it is possible that his daughter is 18 years old as seen in the film (she's a high school senior and so would be around 18).

The Twilight Saga: New Moon picture

Corrected entry: The bay window that Bella sits in during the months after Edward leaves does not exist in her room in Twilight. There is no bay window on the second floor until New Moon.

stareide

Correction: There actually is a bay window on the 2nd floor, which you can see in the opening scenes of Twilight, when Charlie brings Bella to Forks. It appears as though she has 2 windows in her bedroom, from the outside.

Drag Me To Hell picture

Corrected entry: When the old woman is attacking the bank employee and she smashes the window on her car, she is then able to open it as if it were unlocked all along, without reaching inside the car to unlock it.

Correction: We see the gypsy open the car door but only after a reasonably prolonged look at the girl inside the car getting covered in glass. The brick shattered the window completely, which would instantly expose a push down door lock. I think it is reasonable to say there was enough time for her to have worked the lock first, especially given her haste to reach her intended victim.

2012 picture

Corrected entry: When Krakatoa blew in 1883, it ejected some 5 cubic miles of debris into the atmosphere, dropping the average global temperature by as much as 1.2 degrees Celcius for the next year. It has been postulated that should the Yellowstone supervolcano erupt, it would exceed the last eruption, which ejected 240 cubic miles into the atmosphere. In the 28 days that pass before the denizens of the arks are permitted to go outside, the ash and debris from not only Yellowstone, but the scores of volcanoes that erupted almost simultaneously would have blocked the skies world wide. Not only would the citizens have been forbidden to emerge from their cocoons, but satellite views of Africa would have been impossible, and whatever crops survived the earthquakes and lava would have already started to perish.

Correction: True, if you only take the volcanic activity into consideration. But this is multiple volcano eruptions (one even turning Hawaii into a field of flowing magma) coupled with tsunamis that cover the land masses immediately afterward. The tsunamis would severely supress the effects of the volcanos (they won't do as much damage when submerged) and all the precipitation caused by the interraction between the magma and seawater would help clear the atmosphere of ash and debris.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine picture

Corrected entry: When the soldiers are in Nigeria and Wade exit the elevator to attack all of henchmen with his swords, while jumping high the ropes are seen on Reynold's back that lift him. (00:14:05)

Correction: Ummm, maybe you should actually watch the movie at the cinema instead of the unfinished version circling the net?

Star Trek picture

Corrected entry: The view of Saturn's rings from Titan's atmosphere looks impressive, but from Titan's orbit the rings always appear nearly edge-on. (01:37:00)

Correction: Untrue. Here is an image taken from the Hubble telescope where Titan (the large reddish disc) is nowhere near being aligned to the rings' edge. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/files/2009/03/hst_saturn_4transit.jpg

Watchmen picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where the prison thug has his arms taken off by the power tool, one can see his real arms behind his back. They are also visible when he passes out and falls down on the floor.

Correction: The arms were digitally removed and are absolutely not visible at any point.

Avatar picture

Corrected entry: In the Extended Edition of the movie, we have Tsu'tey's death scene in full near the end. Jake comes in and the whole scene plays out. but Jake is in his Avatar body. Not moments before, we saw the entire trailer holding the pods in which Jake connected with his Avatar body wrecked by Colonel Miles. So how did he reconnect with his Avatar body after that? It couldn't have been with that trailer, nor could it have been at the original base considering the company should still be inhabiting it and the scene seems to take place at most a few hours after wards.

Correction: The trailer was damaged, sure, but it wasn't totally wrecked - it still appeared to be, for the most part, structurally intact, for example. Slap a quick patch on the windows and any leaks (any installation designed to work in a toxic atmosphere is going to have repair equipment readily to hand) and it's not remotely unreasonable that at least one of the interface pods would still be functional.

Orphan picture

Corrected entry: Near the middle of the film, Daniel tells Max that he plans to get the hammer to prove Esther's guilt so their parents will "have to believe them". This makes no sense, as Kate has asked them repeatedly if Esther has hurt them or done or said anything strange. So why is Daniel indicating that his mom wouldn't believe him if he told her what he saw? Kate has been suspicious of Esther since the beginning and Daniel's tattling would surely only confirm Kate's suspicions.

RareJewel

Correction: True, Kate had asked several times about Esther, but each time they said no. The father was completely blind to what was going on. With just their story, it would be difficult to get both parents on board because of the denials. Daniel figured that they would have a much better shot with the hammer since it was a piece of evidence to prove their story.

The Hangover picture

Corrected entry: Once Stu gets off the phone with his wife, the rest of the guys eventually walk into his room. When Alan walks in the room, he is carrying the plastic grocery bag. When they are walking down the hallway towards the elevator in slo-mo (with the song "Who Let the Dogs Out" playing), Alan doesn't have the plastic bag. When they arrive at the elevator, Alan has the bag again. (00:18:30)

Hopeur18

Correction: Alan does a little "jog" when they reach the elevators - and he's the last one to turn the corner - making it appear that he went back to the room to grab his plastic bag and had to "catch up."

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen picture

Corrected entry: After Sam, Mikaela, and Leo escape from Megatron and the Micro 'Doc Bot' they go to a deserted 'junkyard' with Skids, Mudflap, and Bumblebee. When nightfall hits, after Sam tells Bumblebee that he has to turn himself in, Bumblebee encourages him to stay the course and then turns into car mode. At that point when Sam is leaning on the hood and Bumblebee scooches forward and flashes his lights, you are able to see the obvious outline of a crew man in the driver side seat of Bumblebee, making Bumblebee move. (In the previous and following shots there is no holographic projection of a driver in Bumblebee.)

XMichiganState5x

Correction: Submitted and corrected. A transformer can create the appearance a driver. as seen from the first film with Blackout, Starscream, and Barricade.

Up (2009)

Up picture

Corrected entry: When Russel is hanging under the house and the airplanes a chasing him, a few tranquilizer darts hit the porch roof and stairs. The darts seem to disappear almost immediately in every following shot, but is most apparent after the house lands atop the zeppelin and a close-up shot confirms it.

Correction: Tranquilizer darts, by their very nature, are specifically calibrated to have a much less intense velocity than bullets so the fact that they do not imbed themselves within the wood on the house for more than a few seconds isn't a mistake.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian picture

Corrected entry: After Amelia flies the characters to the museum from the Smithsonian, she hops back in the plane and flies off. How? If she's not with the tablet wouldn't she turn back into a wax figure?

Correction: As seen in the first film a number of the exhibits left the museum and were wandering around Manhattan. It seems that the tablet's magic brings them back for an entire night until sunrise, regardless if they are near the tablet or not.

The Lovely Bones picture

Oddity

Terminator Salvation picture

Corrected entry: After John gets out of the crashed helicopter, a terminator with no legs surprises him by grabbing him by the shoulder and throwing him several feet. This terminator's decision to throw John away from it (giving John a head start) instead of crushing his shoulder or wind-pipe made no sense, as the terminator was obviously trying to kill John.

PAUL DAINTON

Correction: The terminator must have thought that the impact from the throw would knock Connor out, making it easier to kill him. Not a perfect decision, but it is also possible that the terminator's reasoning abilities were damaged in the crash.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel picture

Corrected entry: Dave's Aunt Jackie introduces Toby to the chipmunks as her grandson. When she is leaving in the ambulance, Toby referenced her as "Aunt Jackie", not Grandma.

Correction: This was actually not a mistake because Toby was talking to Dave Seville at the time, and he was describing her from Dave's point of view.

LizzieWD

Not true he is not talking to Dave.

Corrected entry: When Chuck and Lem win the Humaniacs contest, Chuck has an iPod taped to the microphone and dancing to a song. Kind of impossible since Chuck's iPod got shot to pieces earlier in the movie.

Correction: This is incorrect, he tapes his phone to the mic.
