Corrected entry: After Nick gives everybody their respective parts of the plan, they go outside to get Kira into a taxi and, as she enters the cab and closes the door, you can see, at the bottom right of the taxi's door's window, a green sticker saying "Auto door". Although they're in China, the Chinese translation has Japanese katakana characters. (01:12:05)
Correction: They are in Tokyo, Japan because it says that in the movie.
Corrected entry: When Jack takes the RV from Dr. Harlan, Alex notices the Mustang key chain in the ignition and asks Jack about it. Jack says that it is his dream car and he just has the key chain for now until he can afford to buy it. Why would Jack's key chain have Dr. Harlan's RV keys on it?
Correction: It's unlikely that Dr. Harlan would give Jack his entire key ring; he probably gave him a spare key. It's not unreasonable to assume that Jack would have added a spare key to his own key ring so that he wouldn't lose it.
Corrected entry: At the end of the movie, the little girl is told to go hide somewhere in the house. Later the house burns down and the family has a reunion on the front lawn, sans the little girl; apparently everyone forgot that she is still hiding somewhere in the burning house, and enjoyed a happy ending without her.
Correction: The little girl does get out of the house, you see her pounding at the door with her brother once Matt has forced them out. You see her again once the firemen arrive at the burning house.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Candy the prostitute is calling for help, she dials the operator and says it is an emergency and to connect her with the district attorney. The call goes through to his cell phone and he picks up. This is not how the district attorney's office operates. She would have been directed to 911.
Correction: A 911 emergency is for a life threatening or crisis situation. It's apparent that she has some connection to the DA, since he took her call, and she felt the emergency was not something she wanted random people involved in. Better to do it this way, than some idiots who have called 911 because their hamburger was served incorrectly at a fast food drive thru.
Corrected entry: When Seth's character is filling out the application to be a police officer, you can see that this took several takes by the way the pen moves, as though he wrote Seth by accident instead of Ronald.
Correction: There's nothing to indicate he wrote Seth instead of Ron or Ronald. He puts the pen to paper a couple of times, and hesitates due to his indecision to actually apply for the police, before he finally writes his last name, first name and middle initial. All in his character's names, by the way.
Corrected entry: When the Hope accountant is shoved into the van, his visitor name tag is intentionally thrown to the ground and the camera centers on it, showing that it's important. Shortly after, the accountant still has the tag on his suit. (00:52:45)
Correction: The visitor tag was thrown to the ground but it was the one used by Luke to enter the building, not by the accountant. The accountant's tag is not a visitor pass.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Julie is cleaning her mirror prior to the arrival of a New York Times food critic who is coming for dinner, she is wearing a red pin on the right side of the collar on her blue striped blouse. As she hands the cleaning rag to her husband, the pin has moved to the left side of the collar.
Correction: Because she is cleaning a mirror and we are seeing her reflection.
Corrected entry: When Connor, Murphy, and Romeo have the shootout with the Mobsters at the bar, you'll notice that only a few of the Mobsters were actually shot. Some of the others just dropped to the floor without injury.
Correction: Perhaps to attempt to escape the barrage of gunfire?
Corrected entry: In the scene where, down on the surface, Astro Boy revives a construction robot and brings him back with the others to Hamegg, Hamegg uses a device to gauge how much energy the construction robot has. Then, he accidentally points it to Astro, and the device goes wild! The others ask what just happened, but Hamegg says that nothing's the matter. Just as the scene ends, we see Hamegg giving a very wry smile, and a few strands of hair on his head perform a slightly-skewed devil's horns, somewhat of an indication of the fact that he plans to do something bad with Astro.
Correction: This is foreshadowing, not trivia.
Corrected entry: In the scene at the club, Lisa is doing the macarena. The movie takes place in 1987, this dance wasn't invented until the 1990's.
Correction: The song was recorded in the '90s, but the dance moves (and similar dances) were done in the 70s to "The Locomotion" by Little Eva, and the music and dance moves are very close to "It Ain't What You Do, But The Way That You Do It", a jazz song covered by Kylie Minogue and Fun Boy Three in 1982. If she was dancing to the song by Los del Rio, which wasn't recorded until 1993 it's a legitimate mistake, but if it's just the dance moves it's not. Please clarify.
Corrected entry: When we see Wikus start to lose his fingernails we see a shot that looks to be through the security cameras. The date is on the lower right as 2010/09/08 (8th of August 2010). When Wikus and Christopher break in to MNU, the date is shown on the security cameras to be 2010/13/08 (13th of August), four days later (roughly 96 hours). After escaping and going back to District 9, Wikus is captured and it displays "72 hours after exposure" on screen.
Correction: In order to accurately calculate the time span as 96 hours later, you'd need to know that both scenes occured at the same exact time of day. The closer you are to midnight, the less time you would need for the date changeover.
Corrected entry: When Bad crashes his car and is knocked unconscious, we immediately see a close up of him in the car, with the gear selector in park. How could he have changed it while the car was barreling down a hill to a crash which knocks him out?
Correction: The lever could have been knocked into 'park' by Blake's arm or leg, when he was thrown out of his seat.
Corrected entry: Mandela's personal assistant is/was actually a white lady called Zelda Le grange.
Correction: Zelda Le grange became Mandela's personal assistant in 1996 after the events of Invictus in 1995. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelda_La_Grange.
Corrected entry: In wide shots of the city there are several religious buildings in the shot.
Correction: Several public buildings in the real world such as city halls, universities, museums, etc. can look like places of worship without being one, by having a similar architecture. It is possible that in the context of the movie, that's what these buildings are.
Corrected entry: When Emma and Deb are meeting with Marion, Deb goes from holding a wine glass full of wine to a champagne glass full of wine. Also, the glass goes from being half-way full to full.
Correction: There's a variety of glasses filled to different amounts on the table. Both times her glass changes, they cut to Emma long enough for Deb to pick up a different glass of wine to sample.
Corrected entry: About one hour in when Meryl Streep is serving Croque Monsieur to Steve Martin and discussing cooking in Paris, Meryl takes the 2 snacks off the baking sheet and places on the plates with salad. They then talk a little more and the camera shot changes, she then removes 2 Croques from the baking sheet again and serves up once more. (00:46:25)
Correction: Time has passed and it's actually a second serving - noted by the conversation flow, open mustard, used napkins and utensils, and the water, wine, and salad levels. Streep also only serves Martin the second helping.
Corrected entry: When Ron Paul leaves the room, he opens the door by pulling it. In the next scene he pushes the door on his way out.
Correction: The reason he opens "the door" two different ways is because the hotel rooms actually have two doors between them, to prevent one party from entering the other's room.
Corrected entry: When Susan transforms into Ginormica, her dress tears a little, but still manages to stay on and mostly 'grow' along with her. It's a kid's movie, so they couldn't show her in underwear, but it's still a [deliberate] mistake.
Correction: Both Susan and the clothing she was wearing at the time were affected by the Quantonium meteorite, so its hardly surprising both her and the clothing grew together. If the clothing had not grown, then even her underwear would not grow, and she'd be standing naked at 50ft tall.
Corrected entry: In the middle of the wedding scene, Zooey is explaining to Peter why she invited Sydney to the wedding and she calls him Paul, the actor's name, instead of Peter, the character's name.
Correction: She says "Well, I saw you walking around", confirmed by subtitles.
Correction: That is true, however I wouldn't say that it is a mistake. My wife is from Jamaica, but has lived here all her life. You would never know she was Jamacian unless she became extremely happy or upset. Only then will her accent come out. It appears to be the same way in this movie.
