Continuity mistake: When Roland and the other guard turn around to see the green beam emerging from the ocean, the other guard is slightly ahead of Roland after they turn. When the shot cuts to reveal the beam, Roland is now ahead of the other man, and the two of them are closer together. (00:06:13)

Continuity mistake: When Roland tells Kaiba that there's more bad news, the shot pans from Kaiba and Mokuba over to Roland, who is standing in the helicopter doorway. In this shot, he is standing in the middle of the doorway. But in a closer shot of Roland, he has moved to the corner of the doorway. (00:11:22)

Continuity mistake: When the leviathan starts roaring at Yugi, Joey and Kaiba, Joey raises his left forearm over the front side of his face and his right forearm is raised so it is level with his chest. Continuity mistake: When Kaiba asks Yugi and Joey, "Well, are you dorks just going to stand there? Or do you think you can act like men for a change?", Yugi is standing behind Kaiba on his left, and Joey is standing behind Yugi on Yugi's left. In the next shot, Yugi is directly behind Kaiba, and Joey is in front of Yugi. (00:02:30)

Continuity mistake: Joey says to Kaiba, "I'll show you a dork," and draws one card from his deck. When he does this, he has one finger on the back of the card and another finger on the front of the card. Then there is a close-up of his duel disk, where he is shown placing five cards on his duel disk, despite only holding one card in the previous shot. Also, his fingers change position in between the two shots, where he now has two fingers pressed against the front side of the cards. (00:02:36)

Continuity mistake: When Joey realises everyone Dartz caught is now inside the monster, Kaiba says, "Yeah, well, I'm not about to let him do that to me without a fight." At this moment, Kaiba is wearing a necklace that uses a card as the pendant. On both sides of the pendant, the coat he is wearing is opened enough for the pendant to be fully in view. But in the next shot, the coat is closed further, covering up part of the pendant. (00:05:30)

Continuity mistake: When Rafael's soul returns to his body, in the shot of the soul flying down towards the helicopter, Mokuba can be seen standing beside the helicopter, with his body rotated at an angle to face it. In the next shot, his body is not rotated and the helicopter is facing his side. Also, Roland is looking at the helicopter with his head turned to the right, but when the shot cuts, he is looking directly forwards. (00:16:31)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi is consoling the Pharaoh after defeating Dartz, in the shot of the Pharaoh saying "The Great Leviathan is gone," Yugi has his fingers placed over the Pharaoh's left shoulder. But in the next shot, when they look over at Dartz, Yugi's fingers are now curled and on top of the Pharaoh's left shoulder. (00:08:22)

Character mistake: Yugi mistakenly says if he doesn't get a monster out to defend himself Mai can attack him directly, which wouldn't be possible since the rules of Duel Monsters during the Duelist Kingdom arc forbade direct attacks on defenseless opponents. That rule wouldn't be implemented until the Battle City arc.
