Continuity mistake: When a giant lizard man appears near the alleyway, Yugi says, "Looks like our work's not done," and stands behind Joey. When the shot cuts, Joey can be seen in the shot, but Yugi cannot be seen behind him. Then Yugi runs up to him, showing he was in front of him, instead of behind him. (00:11:38)

Continuity mistake: When Kaiba draws the Pot of Greed card from his deck, he has two fingers pressed against the back of the card and his thumb pressed against the front. Continuity mistake: When the main characters walk inside the tower, in the wide shot of Roland saying the Battle City finals will take place there, all of the characters are facing the same direction. In the next shot, Yugi, Joey, and Tristan are all facing different directions from one another. Also, the other characters cannot be seen in the shot next to them, even though they were all standing next to each other. (00:10:28)

Continuity mistake: At the start of the episode, in the wide shots of the duelling room, the platform that Yugi is standing in is several meters below the number 2000. This is because Yugi has 3000 life points, and the platform's position depends on what the duelist's life points are. When Marik says to himself, "Crushing the Pharaoh is a much more appealing choice," the platform Yugi is standing on is now aligned with the number 2000 (which shouldn't be the case since his life points are 3000). Continuity mistake: When Tristan attempts to leave the tower to tell Serenity about the next duel, Mokuba calls out to him. The wall next to Mokuba has nothing on it, but in the next shot, a phone has suddenly appeared on the wall, which Mokuba then uses. (00:01:51)

Continuity mistake: On Joey's first turn, after drawing the Alligator Sword card from his deck, he looks at the other five cards in his hand. At first, his hand is at a horizontal angle, but in a close-up of the cards, his hand is at a vertical angle. (00:07:56)

Continuity mistake: When Joey stomps his foot on the floor, a line can be seen beneath his foot, showing where the tiles were placed. In the next shot, the line on the floor disappeared. (00:17:03)

Continuity mistake: When Baby Dragon is on Joey's field, the monster card on his duel disk is positioned at a rotated angle with the artwork facing to the left and the wording facing to the right. But later in the episode, when Joey summons Jinzo, in the shot of the Jinzo card being placed on the duel disk, the Baby Dragon card is facing the opposite direction, with the artwork facing to the right and the wording facing to the left. Continuity mistake: When Kaiba draws his Obelisk the Tormentor card, he is holding it with two fingers against the back. One finger is close to the bottom of the card and the other is closer to the middle, but in the next shot, his fingers are nearer to the top. (00:06:35)
