The One With The Flashback - S3-E6

Corrected entry: Just before Monica invites Joey in for lemonade, she says,"It's the heat. And the humidity." When she says this, if you look between the doorframe and the edge of the door, there is a crew member behind the door moving around. (00:11:00)

Correction: They live in a building with several apartments. The person in the hallway could have been another resident, a visitor to someone living there, a janitor or any number of people with a legitimate reason to wander around inside the building.

Citizen Kane (1941)

Corrected entry: At the beginning when Kane is dying and says, "Rosebud", no one else is in the room including the butler. The butler later tells the media his last word was "Rosebud."

Correction: This is already listed, and corrected. In the very last scene, the butler does verify that he was in the room at the time of Kane's death.

Twotall

Corrected entry: In the scene where Tom Cruise gets to the apartment building in Shanghai, he gets to apartment 1406. The number 1406 is written in English, not Chinese characters.

Correction: Numbers are typically written in Arabic (Western) letters, even in China. No mistake there.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Jack is about to get out of the shower and he sees Moses and Bernie also in the bathroom and Bernie is sitting on the toilet. If you look at Jack, you can see the dark bathing suit he is wearing. (00:49:40)

Correction: Jack is shown from the chest up (except in one long shot), and his body is covered by the shower curtain the whole time. I could never see any bathing suit, even while watching in slow motion. In the final shot of Jack, there is a shadow on his arm and midriff that might have been mistaken for a dark fabric, but it is really only a shadow.

Corrected entry: In chapter 19, it says that Voldemort was in hiding for 15 years. If he only lost his powers 12 years ago, why would he have been hiding for the extra 3 years?

Correction: Because he was the most wanted wizard in the world, guilty of several crimes.

Twotall

Corrected entry: In the bar, Jack refers to the pentagram on the wall as a pen-ta-gon.

Correction: Character mistake - Jack mixes up the two words, or he is simply unfamiliar enough with geometry that he only remembers the word "pentagon" for a shape with five corners.

Twotall

Correction: He is saying "Pentangle." Which is a pentagram.

Evil Dead II (1987)

Corrected entry: Notice after Ash has cut off his hand and placed it in the bucket, he places books on top of the bucket to hold it down. The top book is titled "A Farewell To Arms".

Correction: Since everyone watching the movie will see this, it is not really trivia.

Rocketeer (1991)

Corrected entry: When Sinclair summons his reinforcements, he yells: 'Sturmabteilung'. The term Sturmabteilung (roughly 'assault squad' in German) was reserved for the SA, which were - along with the Schutzstaffel (SS) - the two paramilitary organizations of the Nazi party. But in 1934, the SA was dissolved because of an alleged conspiracy. Commando troopers for this sort of mission would have been more likely picked from the Schutzstaffel, and certainly they wouldn't be called 'Sturmabteilung'.

Correction: First of all, the SA was not dissolved in 1934. Its leaders at the time were executed, and the organisation itself was shrunk, but it was not disbanded until the end of the war in 1945. Secondly, the SA also had several military units, including their own elite troops, known as SA-Standarte Feldherrnhalle. It is therefore not impossible that SA soldiers were the ones assigned to Sinclair's command.

Love Me Tender - S4-E14

Corrected entry: When Rose crosses to the refrigerator and reaches in for a jug of orange juice, she catches it on the door and the juice spills over her. She carries on regardless. (00:17:00)

Correction: Even if it was not scripted, this is a natural, every-day accident that can happen to everyone. It's not a mistake that it happens to a TV character, as they are supposed to be ordinary people, who may be prone to such mishaps occasionally.

Twotall

Corrected entry: Jack shouldn't know that the fake Jinx's tail had to be spray-painted. While he can obviously smell the spray paint, he never saw the fake cat before, so there is no way he could have known that the cat's tail looked different from the real Jinx's.

Correction: It is not exactly a difficult conclusion to draw. Jack smelled paint on a strange cat that looked exactly like Jinx, so he naturally concluded that the paint was there to alter its appearance.

Twotall

Also, Jack might have called the local shelter to see if anyone had brought in a cat matching Jinx's description. If he did, someone probably mentioned the cat with the white tip on its tail.

The Godfather (1972)

Corrected entry: The scene where Sonny is shot at the toll booth is supposed to take place in the late 1940's. However, as Sonny is driving up to the toll booth, he is listening to a baseball game on the radio that took place on October 3, 1951. In that game, Bobby Thompson hit a home run off Ralph Branca as the Giants beat the Dodgers and won the pennant. (01:52:25)

Correction: No, Sonny is shot in 1951. If you count backwards it is easy to see this: Vito Corleone dies in 1955 (according to what it says on his tombstone). In Vito's death scene, Anthony was about two-three years old, so he was born in 1952, meaning that Michael had returned home in 1951/early 1952, which happened almost directly after the shooting of Sonny.

Corrected entry: After the explosion in the hospital, Kimberly runs out to the ambulance to crash it while the cop is trapped in the hospital by the electrical doors shorting out. The cop is next on the list, yet death keeps him away from Kimberly who is trying to kill herself. But death should have actually stopped Kimberly because she wasn't next.

Correction: As explained in the answer to a question on this site, Kimberly saved Tom (again) by pulling him away from the flying gurney during the explosion in the hospital. He was thereby 'bumped to the back of the queue', meaning that Kimberly would be next in line to die, which of course Death would help her with as much as possible.

Twotall

Corrected entry: We see three immortals getting spears thrown at them. Watch the man in the middle. If you play frame by frame you can see the spear hit him in the mouth, bend and bounce off. (01:26:40)

Correction: If you must go frame-by-frame to see this, it is not valid as a movie mistake.

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Kevin Costner pulls up to the gas station look at the dirt. There are already tire tracks in it. They are surely from previous takes.

Correction: It's a gas station. Cars that stop there for a short time and then drive off is kind of what it is all about.

Halloween: H20 (1998)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the boy drops the corkscrew in the waste disposal unit, you can see the metal flange of the disposal unit move as the corkscrew falls in showing it's not been properly fixed to the sink.

Correction: Not a mistake, as this can easily happen in real life.

Bambi (1942)

Corrected entry: The hunters fire at the chipmunks. You don't hunt for chipmunks.

Correction: No, but hunters can still shoot at them, if they choose. It may be stupid (because it scares the deer away).

Twotall

Corrected entry: When Bond is taken to the karate class, one of the "students" is performing a kata, which is a sort of a "karate dance". In a kata one starts and finishes at the exact same place, but the one in the film starts the kata at the center of the platform, and finishes it the the right end of it. (00:52:05)

Correction: Character mistake - the karate student is doing the kata wrong. I have seen this happen with even experienced practitioners, sometimes people just mess up.

Twotall

Corrected entry: On the Extras DVD, in the Chamber of Secrets Challenge, once you actually get into the Chamber, there are lots of puddles on the floor. If you look closely at the puddles, you can see the reflection of the studio lights above the set.

Correction: DVD artwork, text and special features are not part of the movie itself, so mistakes made here are not valid as movie mistakes.

Twotall

Corrected entry: Harry summons his Firebolt when facing the dragon; He specifies "Accio Firebolt". But the broom that comes is a dirty old thing that looks like a small tree branch with some straw attached - Definitely not the sleek, highly polished racing broom that everyone was drooling over in the third film. This is most clear when Harry tries to unhook the broom from the tower window as the dragon stalks him.

Correction: That's due to the films being made/directed by different people - they had different ideas about how things like the Firebolt, Hogwarts, the teachers etc. should look. Artistic license, not a mistake.

Twotall

The broom has aged by a year. So it has been used to the point where its won't look brand new. Look at the broom he got in Philosopher's Stone. It looked sleek as well but by Prisoner of Azkaban, it didn't look as good.

Scary Movie (2000)

Corrected entry: In the bedroom scene, Doofy says to Cindy, "We're gonna find that guy you killed." Buffy then responds by saying, "He heard a conversation Greg and I were having". It was Greg who had insisted that it was never to be spoken of again, so why was Greg talking about it?

Correction: Buffy never says that Greg was the one to bring up the murder, or that they were talking about it for a long time, only that there were *a* conversation. And as we can see, Buffy is somewhat of an airhead. It is possible that during a conversation with Greg, *she* slipped up and mentioned the killing, and Doofy heard it. Greg would then shut her up, but the damage would be done.
