Superman (1978)

Corrected entry: During Kal-El's voyage to earth the narration states that he has all the knowledge of the "28 Known Galaxies" Given that Jor-El is supposedly from a more advanced race and that we currently know of thousands of galaxies perhaps he is a bit off. Must be the red sun.

Skullduggery

Correction: True, we know of several thousand galaxies, but how much knowledge do we have from uninhabited or presumably uninhabited galaxies? What Jor-El was most likely saying, is that the life pod contains information from the species of 28 galaxies, and that from the other galaxies no info was to be had, as they were unpopulated or the species living there had not evolved past the very basic stages. He worded it a bit awkwardly, but that's understandable.

Correction: Riker not only says that he reviewed the logs; he is also seen actively doing so on orders from the Captain. But more importantly, he never states that he was unaware that Troi was on board, he merely pauses and stares at her when they meet. This is because Riker and Troi have a romantic history together, so it is natural for him to have an emotional reaction when they meet again. To say that Riker was unaware of Troi's presence is an assumption, nothing more.

Corrected entry: When Han is evading the Empire and is parked on Veers' star destroyer, the apparent reason they cannot be detected is because the Imperial sensors have a minimum range. However, when we see the point of view from inside the Falcon, there are several more star destroyers hovering around the vicinity. Certainly one of them could have detected the Falcon, or at least seen it blatantly sitting on another star destroyer. (01:14:25)

Correction: That depends entirely on how the Imperial sensors work. Since Han was able to use this tactic, it is most likely that the sensors were searching for a smaller ship and that when attached, the Falcon registers as simply a part of the destroyer. And there is no specific reason why the personnel on the other destroyers would fix their eyes on the bridge of another destroyer, as they have complete confidence in their technology, and because the Falcon did appear to be jumping into hyperspace. Furthermore, the destroyer is not commanded by General Veers (who, as an Army officer would not command a star ship anyway), but by Captain Needa.

Corrected entry: When Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli first enter Fangorn Forest, they leave their horses behind. Then, when they leave the forest with Gandalf, after Shadowfax comes and Gandalf says "He has been my friend through many dangers," they all ride off together. Arod and Hasufel just come out of nowhere.

Correction: There is a cut between the scene where Gandalf summons Shadowfax and when you see them riding through Rohan towards Meduseld. Just because you don't specifically see Aragorn and Legolas fetching their horses, it does not mean it never happens.

School of Rock (2003)

Corrected entry: Battle of the Bands contests are performed once a year; Dewey taught for only a month. It isn't possible for a Battle of the Bands contest to be only a month after the last one.

Correction: There's no problem here. The first concert we see Dewey in, is a regular gig, not a Battle of the Bands. There is nothing to suggest that less than a year has gone since the last time the Battle was held, as we do not see or hear of this on screen.

Corrected entry: General Grievous takes a big risk in breaking the bridge window exposing it to space knowing that his boss, Lord Sidious, was also on the bridge and could possibly be sucked out before the shield closed.

Correction: Still, this is a character decision and not a plot hole. Grievous also knew that Darth Sidious would be able to take care of himself, and that the Jedi (not knowing Palpatine was Sidious) would do anything to protect the Chancellor, even sacrifice themselves, if need be.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Clarice Starling has to turn over her gun and ammo, before visiting the caged Dr. Lecter, it is clearly visible that one of the bullets in the speedloader has been dropped: the nose is completely disformed. I wouldn't advise anyone to shoot such a bullet... (01:05:50)

Correction: Character mistake. Clarice should have checked her ammunition better, but she didn't. Everyone, no matter how good they are, has little slip-ups now and again.

Twotall

It's a nice detail (that surely was not on purpose, not having any purpose/payoff later in the movie), and character mistakes count.

Sammo

Corrected entry: Arnie stays in the bathtub all night with out being noticed, which would be impossible because at least SOMEONE had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and they would've noticed him.

Correction: What makes you so sure that someone absolutely had to have used the bathroom at night? There were four of us living in the same house and there were plenty of nights when no-one would feel the need. This entry is based on an assumption, nothing more.

The Hitcher (1986)

Corrected entry: In the scene outside the diner where C Thomas Howell finds the finger in his food - The officers find a knife in his jacket, pick him up and throw him back down onto the car. He is thrown down so hard by the police officers that his foot arcs up over his back and kicks the officer (on the right) in the back of the head. The officer is a good actor, and doesn't even blink after getting kicked. (00:31:35)

Correction: This is not a mistake. The kick is not intentional, so it is not very hard. The cop is simply not bothered by it, as it is a small nuisance that he is prepared might happen in a difficult arrest situation.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene at the Maid of the Mist, Ally Loman tells Bruce that the Maid of the mist has been around for 156 years. Then Irene Dansfield is introduced as her mother having ridden on the maiden voyage. Her mother must have had her when she was about 80 to make that possible.

Correction: The boat tour of the Niagara Falls was 156 years old at the time the movie came out, yes, but in this time, ALL the different boats have been named "Maid of the Mist", even when new boats replaced older models. So the tour of the river past the falls is 156 years old, but the actual boat Bruce and Irene are on is younger than that. Most likely, it is the (currently running) "Maid of the Mist" I or II, who was put into service in 1955 and 1956, respectively, and Irene's mother should have had no problems catching one of THOSE maiden voyages.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Bruce is seducing Grace, right in the shot of her collapsing onto the floor in the bathroom, you can see she knocks the toilet paper roll off the rack as she hits the floor. When the shot shows her standing in the bathroom doorway with her hair all messed up, the toilet paper roll is now back onto the rack. (00:44:20)

Correction: After Grace falls to the floor, the pangs of passion subside enough for her to get to her feet and come to the door. We do not see this, as the camera is only on Bruce (in the bedroom). It is not impossible that as she managed to compose herself enough to get up, she picked up the toilet paper roll and put it back. Many people do little tidying things like this absent-mindedly, while they are thinking about other things.

Twotall

Perhaps, but she didn't clean up the other stuff she knocked off the shelf, and really, given that she's just had the greatest orgasm of her life, and is about to go have sex, how much do you really think she'd care about fixing it?

King Kong (2005)

Corrected entry: The behaviour of the carnivorous dinosaurs in the film is completely false. T-Rexes would never use so much effort to chase after Anne and Kong. They are scavengers. T-Rexes never hunted because they couldn't risk falling down - they would never be able to get up because of their small arms and would subsequently die. Also, they were so territorial, they would have been more apt to kill each other during the chase.

Correction: 65 million years of further evolution may have changed their behavioural patterns. And the question of whether or not T. Rex were hunters or scavengers has not yet been resolved with certainty, there are evidence and arguments supporting both theories.

King Kong (2005)

Corrected entry: There are errors in the way Kong uses facial expressions - he should never have laughed similarly to humans. An ape laughs with his lips sticking out like a "huh huh" sound. Anytime the lips are pulled back indicate a sense of fear.

Correction: Kong does not need to use the same facial expressions as regular apes. He is an entirely different species, who has evolved by its' own for thousands (if not millions) of years. This might as well also have changed the way they use their face to express emotions.

Corrected entry: At Bob's Country Bunker, Bob said that the band had consumed $300 worth of beer. Estimating $2 for a bottle of beer, this would mean the group of 10 men drank 150 beers among them - more than enough to get them seriously drunk. Despite this, everyone seemed to be completely sober during their after-show conversation in the parking lot.

Correction: It's a joke the filmmakers inserted in this scene. It is consistent with other exaggerated and "impossible" scenes in the movie showing how tough the main characters are; they are shot at with a flamethrower without bothering to notice, sleep through the demolition of the building they are in, duck missiles and keep on walking, etc. Not to mention the incredible "backflip" they manage with their car.

Twotall

Correction: Depending on what bar you go to, beer prices can vary widely. Bars can charge whatever they want. Even in 1980, I know there were bars that charged four dollars for a single beer, on draft or in bottle, and strip clubs charged up to seven dollars per beer (and the manager could change prices at will). I mean, there's a good chance that Bob was deliberately overcharging the Blues Brothers Band just to get out of paying them, which seems likely.

Charles Austin Miller

Corrected entry: When the band performs at Bob's Country Bunker, they travel in 2 cars carrying 5 people each. When Jake and Elwood tell the guys to go ahead and leave, they would have to fit 8 people plus all of the equipment in one car.

Correction: That's an ongoing joke in both this film and the sequel. It is featured most prominently in "Blues Brothers 2000," where you actually get to see the interior of the car with the entire band crammed inside.

Catwoman (2004)

Corrected entry: When Catwoman is searching the web for facts about cats, all of the website links are blue before she clicks on them meaning she has never used them before yet when she looks at the "cats in ancient Egypt" link it is purple, meaning she has already used it (probably in a previous take).

Correction: It is not a mistake that she visits a site she has been on before. Maybe it's because she wanted to double-check something and went back to a previously visited site that mentioned this. Also websites can be customised so link colours can be any colour the designer wishes.

Catwoman (2004)

Corrected entry: When Patience is cornered by Armando and Wesley, Wesley is standing right next to Armando. When Catwoman goes to the factory and sees Armando standing outside, she has a flashback to Armando firing his gun, but Wesley is not standing next to him. (00:19:25 - 00:53:10)

Correction: It is a memory, and need not be exactly accurate. She remembers Armando more in that moment because he is the one she sees before her, and because he is the one who made the biggest impression on her (by actively trying to shoot her and all).

3 Ninjas (1992)

Corrected entry: When Rocky, Colt, and Tum Tum are cooking dinner at their grandfather's house, Tum Tum warns Colt that he's about to throw some food his way. He throws a big spoonful of noodles. Colt attempts to catch it, but it obviously hits the plate's side and then completely falls off.

Correction: Not a mistake. He is only a ninja-in-training after all, he is not superhuman, and is bound to miss occasionally.

Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset - S8-E12

Corrected entry: Paris Hilton is defeated in the "Whore Off" by Mr. Slave. Soon she meets the Frog King who tells her that she must travel through Mr. Slave's intestine or she will surely die. The problem is that when the hamster Lemmiwinks freed himself in Season Six, episode 14, all of Mr. Slave's "friends" were freed with him, including the Frog King. Why did they come back?

Correction: Well, seeing how all of Lemmiwinks' "helpers" inside Mr. Slave were spiritual, it is impossible to say for certain what their exact limitations and powers were. One possible explanation is that the Frog King really did leave mr. Slave, but chose to reappear inside him when needed to help others who would be trapped there. Or it is possible that they had gained the freedom to leave, but never actually did so. It basically boils down to a character decision, which is not a mistake unless you specifically know their motivations.

Corrected entry: When Saruman is speaking to the "tens of thousands" of Orcs from atop the tower, watch the shots closely that were taken from behind Saruman. If you watch his head and the side of his face, you can see his head moving like he's talking, but all you hear at that point is Orcs yelling, obviously alluding to the fact that he was saying a line when that shot was filmed, but it was edited out.

rstill

Correction: People's voices get drowned by a yelling crowd all the time, both in real life and in movies. Just because he is a main character in a movie, it does not mean everything he says will be heard.
