Corrected entry: When Thomas McKean states that "In my case, hanging won't be so bad," this is incorrect. The signer Benjamin Harrison said that.

Corrected entry: Just before the signing, Stephen Hopkins states that he wants to "remember each man's face as he signs." The filmmakers screwed up. William Ellery, a delegate from Rhode Island, where Hopkins was from, said this. Ellery was not shown in the movie.
Correction: This film is not intended to be a historical documentary, hence the filmmakers did not "screw up." Although the film (based on the Broadway musical comedy) is based on real events and real people, some of the characters and events have been changed or left out for dramatic/comedic purposes.

Little Big Man (1970)
Corrected entry: Custer is shown being killed by arrows hitting him, but in reality he killed by bullets: one in the chest and one in the head.
Correction: True as that may be, this movie does not claim historical accuracy, so consider this artistic license on the part of the filmmakers.

Untraceable (2008)
Corrected entry: During the scene on the bridge when the detective's car shuts down, she doesn't try to unlock the door before she breaks the window. The unlock lever is right above the handle, and is in the lock position. It is impossible to lock yourself in a car. (01:22:30)
Correction: When people are upset, anxious, feeling pressure or are nervous in any way, they don't necessarily think logically. This is simply chalked up to a character mistake.

The Great Escape (1963)
Corrected entry: When Ramsay, Bartlett, Cavendish and Mac are discussing the distances 'Tom' and 'Harry' have been dug, Cavendish is smoking a pipe. Although he has the right end in his mouth, the part with the tobacco in it is facing east instead of north. It stays like this for about 3 seconds before he realises and corrects it. (01:14:15)
Correction: The fact that the pipe bowl is turned to the side for a couple of seconds is certainly not a 'movie mistake', since this can occur to any pipe smoking individual, such as my late uncle, when not paying attention. Then, as you say, he realized its position and turned the stem to place the bowl upright. It happens.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)
Corrected entry: In the chase scene where Checkov is being rescued from the hospital, there is a shot where the crew bursts through some doors and knock over a man on crutches wearing a cast. As he falls, Bones grabs him and the camera pans off. Once the camera pans, you can hear Bones say to him, "Great shot!" This was on the video version of the movie. I haven't seen the DVD.
Correction: As the shot opens, when McCoy holds the door open for Kirk (who pushes Chekov's gurney through the doorway), McCoy turns around just in time to see the man with a leg cast (being assisted by a candy-striper) lose his balance and fall backwards directly onto the bench beside the wall, right next to another man. McCoy is pleased that the man landed perfectly on the bench, when he concernedly rushes to him and says, "Great catch" as he leans down.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Corrected entry: When Harry arrives at the Weasley's we see the clock that shows where everyone is. We see the twins' and Ron's picture moving to show they're home, but no-one else's picture is in the same place. Shortly afterwards we see that everyone else is already home, except Mr. Weasley. (00:11:15)
Correction: In the close-up, Molly, Ginny and Percy's picture hands are pointing toward the Burrow's garden, so I don't understand why you say "no-one else's picture is in the same place". Then, "shortly afterward" of course they are at home, they were only right outside. And then Mr. Weasley arrives home. Where's the mistake?

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Corrected entry: In the scene when Harry first comes to the burrow, there is a shot where Harry is examining the clock. It has Mr. Weasley at quittich, but later on he comes home from work. Also, it says Mrs. Weasley and Ginny are in the garden, but later on Ginny comes down from upstairs. Persy is said to be in the garden. (00:11:15)
Correction: In the close-up of the Burrow's clock, the hands show Ginny, Percy and Molly in the garden, and Arthur's hand points to Quidditch. BUT, it isn't until "later on", when the boys have been seated for breakfast, that we see Ginny come downstairs and Arthur come home. We don't have to see every action on screen, to draw logical conclusions. Just as Harry walks away towards the knitting needles, the clock hands would simply change showing Molly AND Ginny 'home' - but we just don't see it. Four shots later Molly appears, so we know it happened. Coming in from the garden, Ginny would have used the back steps to go straight upstairs (therefore not know Harry is in their house), before her mother confronts the boys about their overnight excursion, so later on, when the boys are seated at the kitchen table, Ginny comes down to ask about her jumper. Now regarding Arthur, when he walks in he states that there were nine raids at work that day, so obviously yes, he was at work. But, the hand pointed to Quidditch EARLIER because he could have been at/near a Quidditch practice/match for the last of those raids for "misuse of Muggle artifacts" and stayed a bit to watch a game, or after work he simply apparated to some Quidditch practice/match going on, just before heading home. There is no mistake.
Correction: The correction is wrong because immediately after seeing the clock, Mrs. Weasley came was seen standing on the landing of the stairs, in her pyjamas. Nowhere near the garden.

The One With The Memorial Service - S9-E17
Corrected entry: Phoebe says she called Mike by using the speakerphone on the base unit. All fine and dandy, except how did she dial his number? The number keys are on the phone Monica took.
Correction: Many base unit models have number key pads and also a redial key.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Corrected entry: When Harry is going to his room at the Leaky Cauldron, after talking to Fudge, we see Tom walk out of the room with nothing in his hands. In the next shot, he is carrying Harry's books.
Correction: When Tom pushes Harry's chair back and pulls the boy by his shirt, we see the stack of books in the crook of Tom's right arm, just before he walks out the doorway.

Sandy's Rocket / Squeaky Boots - S1-E8
Corrected entry: Why is every single person in Bikini Bottom wide awake and living their normal lives in the dead of night? It's way past midnight and people are walking their pets and Mrs. Puff is in her school, grading papers. No school would be open that late.
Correction: When you say, "No school would be open that late", you are referring to human schools? Real schools? Schools on land? We are talking about the absurd, vivid, totally UNrealistic world of Bikini Bottom, where they may live life as they see fit.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Corrected entry: In the shot where Dobby tells Harry he must punish himself, you can see a sweater on the end of the bed, next to where Harry sits. In earlier shots, the end of the bed had no sweater on it. (00:04:45)
Correction: From the moment Harry walks into his bedroom and Dobby bows to him, to the moment Harry tries to catch Dobby, who holds Harry's letters, there is a striped sweater/shirt lying near the edge of Harry's bed, near the wardrobe. Seen on fullscreen and widescreen DVDs.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Corrected entry: In the shot when Dobby is punishing himself after agreeing with Harry about not meeting many decent wizards, Dobby begins hitting his head against Harry's drawers. You can see in the upper left corner a piece of clothing hanging out, and in the lower right corner a green piece of clothing. In the next shot, the green clothing is gone, but reappears again in the following shot. (00:04:15)
Correction: The green piece of clothing that hangs out the right corner, of the bottom drawer (there are five drawers), is in every single shot where that corner is visible, during the entire scene in Harry's bedroom, in both the widescreen and fullscreen DVDs.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Corrected entry: When Dobby is in Harry's room in the beginning of the movie he punishes himself by hitting his head into something. First it is a wardrobe and in the next shot it is a chest of drawers.
Correction: Dobby only bangs his head into the chest of five drawers and later, the lamp. Dobby never bangs his head into the wardrobe, Harry simply tosses Dobby in there when he hears Vernon coming.

Face/Off (1997)
Corrected entry: When Castor arrives to taunt Archer at the prison, he holds up his hand with the wedding ring on it. The hand we see in closeup is much hairier than John Travolta's hand.
Correction: That hand is not "much hairier" than Travolta's. John has an ample amount of dark hair on his hands and fingers and the close-up is consistent with that.

Face/Off (1997)

Face/Off (1997)
Corrected entry: When Archer (Castor Troy at the time) takes the cigarettes from the daughter's room, and goes to light one up, when he opens the pack, the end of the smokes is orange, yet after Archer takes a puff, the entire cigarette is white with no orange end.
Correction: When he takes the cigarette from Jamie's pack it is entirely white and stays that way.

Face/Off (1997)
Corrected entry: When Dubov is in prison and is about to be electrocuted, his boots are taken off and he is left with inner boots. After the shooting and killing, he scrambles on the floor and is barefoot when he throws the cot against the security guards, then he climbs up the stairs and has the inner boots on again.
Correction: First, Dubov is not about to be "electrocuted", he is in the prison clinic to receive electric shock treatment for misbehavior and second, he is actually barefoot when the scene opens. Third, it is Sean (as Castor Troy) whose magnetic boots are taken off, when he is dragged into the clinic and he is left with regular boots. Fourth, during the rest of this scene, Dubov remains barefoot and Sean (as Castor) wears the boots.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Corrected entry: When Harry is in the Owlery, an owl flies in through the window and lands on a post. When Harry takes the letter off it, it shows the window again, but the beams on it are arranged differently. (00:40:00)
Correction: They are two different windows opposite each other. The owl Sirius sent flies in through one window, as Harry stands by another window on the opposite side. When Harry takes the note from the owl and reads it the window he stood by is seen behind him. The windows are consistent.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
Corrected entry: In the scene where Barbossa retrieves his piece of eight from Ragetti, it pops out of his left eye. However in the scenes following he wears an eyepatch on his right eye and his left eye is normal.
Correction: Ragetti's wooden eye "pops out" of his right (viewer's left) eye socket and is consistent with the rest of the film.
Correction: This film is not intended to be a historical documentary. Although the film (based on the Broadway musical comedy) is based on real events and real people, some of the characters and events have been changed or left out for dramatic/comedic purposes. This is called artistic license.
