Corrected entry: Why does C-3PO, upon 'returning' to Tatooine, not recognize the place of his creation, or the Lars family moisture farm, where he HAD briefly visited in the first movie.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)
Corrected entry: The back rest on Caractacus's rockets is a sawed-off baby seat.
Correction: How this qualifies as a mistake, even a deliberate one, is beyond me. The fact that the imaginative Caractacus Potts can re-use something like a baby's seat is rather inventive, and what a coincidence - he's an inventor.

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003)
Corrected entry: Although most of Legally Blonde 2 is set in Washington DC, not one actor went there for the movie.
Correction: It is not unusual that a film takes place in one specific location, but that none of the actors ever actually step foot in or near it during the shoot.

Cinderella Man (2005)
Corrected entry: "Hooverville" is shown to be in Central Park. NYC's "Hooverville" is on the west side on empty land next to the Hudson River.
Correction: The film is accurate. During the Great Depression, the largest Hooverville in New York was located in Central Park.

Jaws (1975)
Corrected entry: When the little boy on the yellow water raft is supposedly eaten by Jaws, you see two boys carrying him out of the water when everyone is clearing out.
Correction: When Ellen asks her husband, Chief Brody, "Are you okay?" behind her there are five boys who wear red swimming trunks, that head into the water. Alex Kintner, the boy who will soon be attacked, is also wearing red swimming trunks. After the shark attack, the boy in the red swim trunks being dragged out of the water is not Alex.

Happy Gilmore (1996)
Corrected entry: In the scene where happy has a bet with the repot men he hits the golf ball and we see a bird's eye view of its travels. It appears to travel an awful distance when in fact, but as we see in the next clip, it only travels to the end of the street.
Correction: This is a common filmmaking technique used to show a particular action or sequence dramatically stretched out for emphasis. When done this deliberately it doesn't even qualify as a "deliberate" mistake.
Corrected entry: In scene ten, Jack Sparrow's prison cell on the Black Pearl, which is in the closest cell on the right, is busted open by the Interceptor's cannons. In scene eleven, when the crew of the Interceptor is captured, the majority of the crew is placed in the exact same cell that Jack Sparrow had been busted out of, on the right side, but the lock has been mysteriously fixed.
Correction: The lock is still broken. When Gibbs says, "Good man!" referring to Bill Turner, the broken twisted bars around the broken lock are visible at the bottom right of the screen, as is the steel link chain that is wound around the existing bars to hold the door locked in place. It is visible on DVD widescreen.

Cinderella Man (2005)
Corrected entry: Right after the movie goes into the Great Depression, Jim Braddock goes out into the kitchen where Mae is cooking breakfast. There is a clock over on a shelf by the stove. Throughout the entire scene, the time never changes.
Correction: Clocks break or simply stop, and many people, myself included, have left the broken or unwound clock untouched for an indefinite amount of time.

Freaky Friday (2003)
Corrected entry: When Tess/Anna is on TV and it cuts back to the audience, at one point you can see a whole lot of equipment and a person holding a cue card. Normally in TV studios these wouldn't be visible on the actual show.
Correction: Though it is true that normally the production crew and/or studio equipment are not visible on TV talk shows, morning shows, etc., there are numerous occasions in reality where this was/is not the case, whether or not the show is taped or live on the air. Off the top of my head I remember this occurring on The Tonight Show, The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Live with Regis and Kelly.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Corrected entry: Watch the scene where Urgo is sitting by Dr Frasier and she is skimming her notes. Urgo skims as well using his middle finger.
Correction: This mistake, as it presently reads, makes no sense at all. If it could be reworded so others could actually understand its point, that would be excellent.
Correction: Urgo is just imitating Dr. Frasier's movement, except since he doesn't have a pen in his hand like she does, it looks like he's using his middle finger.

Recess (1997)
Corrected entry: When Randall throws the rock, he says that he threw it straight in the air, but when you actually see him throwing the rock, he throws it straight ahead.
Correction: The fact that Randall is mistaken about how he threw the rock in the air constitutes a character mistake, not the show's mistake.

Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Corrected entry: Even though this movie is set in France, the bald eagle, the grizzly bear, and many other animals that are native to the Americas can be seen in Gaston's bar.
Correction: The fact is, in the film the information about where the animals come from is not offered. So, in that case it is possible and entirely plausible that certain animals were hunted for sport and killed elsewhere. Then, the prized stuffed animal carcasses were brought back, and the trophies were mounted on the wall of this tavern.

Rain Man (1988)
Corrected entry: In the scene when the doctor asks Raymond unbelievably far-out mathematical equations, Raymond answers them correctly. A few seconds later, he is asked rather simple math problems and is way off with his answers. It seems uncharacteristic that Raymond (being a high-functioning autistic, as the doctor described him, and who also stated himself that he was good with numbers) would be able to answer such technical math equations with ease but not be able to subtract 50 from 100.
Correction: Dustin Hoffman's portrayal of Savant Syndrome in this story is both authentic and credible in depicting savant skills, particularly the 'prodigious skills' of Raymond Babbitt. It is startling to comprehend an autistic savant's mathematical prowess. Raymond's ability for 'lightning mathematical calculating', even in the absence of the basic simple arithmetic skills, is a VERY accurate representation of Savant Syndrome.
Correction: In addition to the correction by Super Grover, I want to note that the "subtract 50 from 100" question involved money. The doctor asked Raymond, "If you had a dollar, and you spent 50 cents, how much money would you have left?" Raymond doesn't really understand dollars and cents, so the wording of the question may have confused him.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Corrected entry: When Palpatine and Mace Windu are fighting and Palpatine is taking damage. His mouth is gaping in pain and you can get a clear view of his teeth - the number, cleanliness and configuration change between shots.
Correction: Well, yes Palpatine's teeth are changing drastically between shots. They are quickly deteriorating, as is his face, as a result of the powerful reversal of his force lightening.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Corrected entry: After Padme gives birth, her body was sent to her home planet to be laid to rest. Presumably this is a week or two later. However if you look at her stomach, it is partially inflated - can't be the babies, and wouldn't be gases either, given she's clearly been prepared for burial.
Correction: Padmé's belly is deliberately made to look as if she was STILL pregnant when she died, in order for everyone to think that the "baby' died, as well. There are but a few witnesses, Bail Organa, Yoda, Obi-Wan and the droids, to the very live birth of the twins. There is a dire need to safeguard the secrecy of the birth of Anakin/Vader's offspring - to protect Luke and Leia. There is even a close-up of Padmé's belly to stress the point of the deception.

Sugar & Spice (2001)
Corrected entry: When the girls are in the doctor's office and they are looking at the ultrasound picture of the baby, wouldn't it be hard for the untrained eye to see that there are two heads?
Correction: Depending on the position of the two fetal heads, it is entirely possible for an untrained eye to actually see the two heads during a prenatal ultrasound scan, without the technician's or doctor's assistance.

Halloween (1978)
Corrected entry: At the beginning when Michael kills Judith, he puts on the clown mask and you can see that before he picked it up there were two eyeholes but once he put it on there was just a large space and the two eyeholes aren't visible.
Correction: This is a widely accepted filming technique, that properly and correctly shows the POV of the person behind the mask, that has two distinct eye holes. If you wear a mask you won't see two separate images.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001)
Corrected entry: The keys are flying right behind Harry. He'd never have enough time to fly into the next room, and have Ron and Hermione close the door in time.

Troy (2004)
Corrected entry: When King Priam is stabbed by Agamemnon in the temple at the end of the movie, the blade goes into his stomach. Priam falls to the ground, looks up and sees Agamemnon. In this shot, there is blood on the robes of Priam near his left shoulder. How can his blood defy gravity by going up his chest, let alone in five seconds?
Correction: In the first shot, when Agamemnon spears Priam from the back, the tip protrudes from his chest above his belt, Priam falls face forward with the spear still in him and Agamemnon violently removes the spear (causing even more massive damage to the wound) then tosses it aside. At the start of the next shot Priam is face-down flat on the ground, so the blood does not have to "defy gravity" in order to be easily absorbed by the very thin material towards his shoulder, as it pours out of the severe back entry wound and when he turns over there is also blood spilling from his mouth reaching the front of his shoulder.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Corrected entry: How in the world did Sam rip the ring off Frodo even though he was covered with webs, pick up his sword that was far away from him, find a hiding space and run deeply into it in the four seconds or so that he had before the orcs came? Another thing is that hobbits are not very fast as they have very short legs and are fat, and Sam had pots and pans with him which would have made lots of noise if he was running quickly, and we hear nothing.
Correction: All Sam needs to do to get to the chain is reach with one finger between the web and Frodo's neck, pull out a bit of chain and unclasp it, very quick and simple to do. From the time Sam hears the Orcs, to the moment of their arrival, is longer than "four seconds", as it is not necessary (and very deliberate) to show Sam's (who is indeed quite fast on his Hobbit feet) actions onscreen - so the viewers would see and hear nothing. (The point is made in the films that despite Hobbit size, they are rather quick and nimble.)
Correction: At the end of Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, Senator Bail Organa orders Captain Antilles to, "Have the protocol droid's memory erased.", referring to C-3PO. That's why many years later in Episode IV, A New Hope, C-3PO has no recollection of his surroundings or anyone he knew at that time.
