Continuity mistake: When Ben first sees The Fox in the box trap and rushes over, both the y-branch and straight branch are lying atop the box, but as Ben kneels down now the y-branch is instantly upright with the straight branch still lying beside it, then Ben's siblings run over. (In the next shot, as Mary Ellen mentions Carol Lombarde, the box trap is suddenly set atop two saw horses with the two branches set in their trapping positions. This change is quite abrubt between the two shots and presented as if they have not moved). (00:29:40)

Additionally, while Verdie and Olivia are in the store, Harriet has a blue lollipop and John Curtis is licking a red lollipop, but when Verdie and Olivia leave the store in the exterior shot, Harriet is holding a red lollipop and John Curtis is holding a blue one. Continuity mistake: In this episode Olivia states that she conceived one month after getting married. Olivia asks John if he remembers that summer when just the two of them went camping up on the mountain, and they both recall that it was their one month anniversary after eloping. Olivia also says that she knew later that night, "That there's some kind of miracle happening inside me," and even felt that it was a boy - John-Boy, their eldest child. The problem is, in 8x1 "The Homefront," when Cindy joins Olivia in the garden, Cindy asks, "How long was it before you knew you were expecting John-Boy?" and Olivia replies, "About two years, but everybody is different..." Continuity mistake: The Baldwin sisters buy Olivia a wooden wheelchair, and when Zeb brings it into the bedroom the camera tilts downward and we see Zeb's legs behind the chair. Later, after Mary Ellen and G.W. dance for Olivia it cuts to a closeup of the wheelchair, but it's actually the earlier shot because we still see Zeb's legs and he's not even in the room. Continuity mistake: When John-Boy goes to Sarah's house to pick her up for the double-feature picture show, he tells her mother good morning and we see the shadows being cast outside The House. Later, after the double feature, when John-Boy and Sarah get back to her house in the afternoon, all of the shadows are still being cast in precisely the same direction as that morning, which is impossible. Also, in Sarah's closeup after she gets out of the truck and when John-Boy rushes after her, the white fence's shadow is completely different than the previous and following wideshots.
