Continuity mistake: When Danny interrupts Deacon and Kelly's dinner the couple retreat to their bedroom, and while Spence mumbles to himself as he clears the plates, in the closeup he places some plates on the pass-through shelf, but those plates have vanished in the next wide shot.

Continuity mistake: After George retraces Billy's steps before he went to the bank, George yells at Billy that he will not be the one to go to jail, and when Billy starts sobbing his right arm is over his left in the wide shot, but in the semi-closeup it's the opposite way, with Billy's left arm over his right. Continuity mistake: After George shows the bank examiner the newspaper and tells him about Harry's honor, George leads Mr. Carter to his office while holding the pipe in his left hand, but it cuts to the semi-closeup and the pipe is suddenly in George's right hand. (01:18:45)

Continuity mistake: While Clarence and George are at the Pottersville cemetery George asks about Mary, and in the shot facing Clarence he's holding his book upside-down with its spine facing him, but it cuts to the closeup and now the book is right-side up, with its spine facing the opposite way. Continuity mistake: After George rails at Uncle Billy for losing the bank deposit, when George gets home he removes his scarf and Mary tosses it onto the table beside the telephone. The scarf is still there when George and Mary head to the kitchen, but then it's suddenly gone and it's not on the floor either. Also, Pete jumps off the chair and is behind his parents, then two shots later jumps down again from that chair. (01:25:10)

Continuity mistake: While George is sprinkling coconut on Mary's ice cream he notices the telegram, and when he picks it up we see the lines of the message as well as the folds in the paper. In the next closeup the lines of the message and the paper's folds are entirely different. (00:07:15)

Continuity mistake: When Billy is at the bank to make the deposit he writes the date on the slip, and as he starts to take the cash out of the envelope he's still holding the nib pen between his fingers (behind the inkwell), but in the closeup the pen is gone, then in the next shot it's back between his fingers. Continuity mistake: After Clarence saves George from suicide, while they're both inside the bridge tollhouse, a photo suddenly appears tucked behind the thermometer between the two windows which was not in the first interior shot, and then it keeps disappearing and reappearing during this scene. Other changes occur within these shots, such as the window shade to the left of the door and Clarence's book position on the line. (01:39:50)

Continuity mistake: After Zedlocker uses the blow torch on the red suit, for the next bullet test they hang the suit over the black metal fireplace screen, but in the closeup it's hanging over an entirely different type of screen with a wood frame. (00:34:15)

Continuity mistake: When Pam finds one of the small communicators in the motel parking lot she's wearing pumpkin-color hosiery, but when Pam gets into her car and the ignition starts courtesy of the aliens, in the closeups of Pam's legs she is not wearing any hose at all and her shoes differ. Continuity mistake: While the kidnappers try to grab the judge's son, Bill drives up and stops them. When one of the kidnappers flees the scene Bill takes off after him, and as Bill rams his car into the kidnapper's car, Bill's car is entirely different. Then it reverts back to the original car. Continuity mistake: While Tony drives his car to the pool hall with Charlie and Johnny Boy, in the initial overhead shot the car's front license plate is on the car, there are hood vents below the windshield, and there is only one sticker on the windshield. Then when Tony turns the corner the front license plate and hood vents are gone, and there are two stickers on the windshield. (00:27:00)

Continuity mistake: A woman tells Bill that her blind neighbor, Judy, is still in the burning building. In the following shot, when Tanner approaches the door there's a pane of glass beside the door knob and there's a backplate behind the knob, but in the next closeup both the pane of glass and the backplate have vanished. Continuity mistake: During two successive scenes, when Michael and Tony con the boys looking for fireworks and also when they're with Charlie at the movie theater, Tony has the taped bandage around his right pinky and hand. The problem is in the next scene at the pool hall Tony's hand is fine, and it's during the brawl in this pool hall that Tony injures his pinky, which requires it to be bandaged later on. (00:23:45)

Continuity mistake: While Ralph is invisible in order to eavesdrop on Klein, when Klein makes a crack about Bill being little league, Ralph deliberately knocks the cup in Klein's hand so the coffee spills on his shirt, tie, vest, and jacket in the closeup, but in the next shot Klein is spotless. Additionally, Klein has a black pocket square and the cup he holds is white styrofoam, but in the closeup the pocket square is gone and he holds a white mug. (00:27:50)

Continuity mistake: While Ralph is searching for the missing boy and finds Johnny's baseball cap, Ralph's watch vanishes and reappears, then it happens again when he finds the boy. (00:38:20)

Continuity mistake: At the rec center, when Ralph enters the reserved racquetball court two men force him onto the floor for another polygraph. Ralph's wearing striped socks, blue shorts with white stripes, a blue half-shirt with red/white stripes that bares his midriff, but in the closeups as Ralph sits down and has the polygraph hooked up, all the stripes on his clothing have vanished and Ralph's abdomen suddenly has a significant amount of dark hair. Continuity mistake: When the shooter is driving the snowplow and also later when Yuri defects, in some shots the driver's side lower window has "Squaw Valley" printed on it, but in other shots the window is clear. The shape of that lower window also changes. (00:12:00)

Continuity mistake: At Joey's pool hall Jimmy is wearing a solid dark blue tie, and when they all return to Tony's bar after the brawl (still making "mook" comments) Jimmy's tie has a dark pattern, but when they all walk to the back room Jimmy's tie now has broad red stripes. (00:36:10)
