Continuity mistake: At the Black Castle, Hook reappears and calls out, "Mr. Smee?" In this shot there is an oar handle at the bow of the boat. In the next shot facing Hook, the oar is gone. (00:46:05)

Continuity mistake: On the Jolly Roger, Hook slashes one of his men and asks, "Any other contributions?" The pirates are positioned differently in the shots facing Hook and in the shot facing themselves. (00:32:15)

Continuity mistake: Smee and another pirate are at the Black castle and the pirate wears a buckled strap across his chest. The position of this strap changes in different shots. When Hook shoots him, the huge bullet hole does not appear in the wide shot, only the close-up. (00:46:10)

Continuity mistake: Peter and Hook are face to face as Hook taunts Peter saying, "I'm afraid the window's barred..." In the shots facing Hook, Peter holds the base of Hook's hook with his left hand while his right hand blocks Hook's hook with his sword. However in the shots facing Peter, while the boy blocks Hook's hook with his sword, Peter's left hand does not hold the base of Hook's hook. (01:26:50)

Continuity mistake: After Arwen's vision, when an Elf escort says, "...we cannot delay.", in the close-up he faces her and his hair is behind his shoulders. In the next wide shot as Arwen begins to leave, the escort now turns to face her, his hair is in front of his shoulders and the neck/shoulder area of his cloak is different than the previous and following close-up. In the next close-up, his hair is behind his shoulders again. (00:28:20)

Continuity mistake: As Gandalf et al. ride toward Isengard, Merry stands up on the stone wall and to his right the sword is leaning upright against the stone. In the second shot of Merry and Pippin, the sword is leaning down, over to the left. Then in the third shot of them, the sword is upright again. (00:10:00)

Continuity mistake: As the Knight Bus begins to appear, Harry falls back onto the ground, leans on his arms and in the front shot his sweatshirt is off his right shoulder, but in the next side shot, as he still leans on his arms, both sides of his jacket are properly on. (00:07:55)

Continuity mistake: While everyone is in the Dursley's dining room, before and after Aunt Marge's inflation, the plates, cutlery, food, etc., on the table and kitchen counters change positions in subsequent shots, depending on the camera angle, not due to anyone touching them. (00:02:40)

Continuity mistake: As Legolas climbs up, swings from and stands on the Mûmak, the shirt that is worn under his green topcoat is seen at the slits on his sides in most shots. The color of that shirt at the slits varies between the normal silvery color as the rest of his shirt in some shots and an odd brown/green color in other shots. (01:12:40)

Continuity mistake: When Aragorn takes the palantir from Pippin and grips it, he leans back and Legolas starts to put his hands on Aragorn's shoulders. In the next side shot it's the same actions again. (00:21:25)

Continuity mistake: Mrs. Darling plays the piano and when the children start dancing around Aunt Millicent we see the small red velvet pillow on the table to her left. In the next wide shot as they dance, Mr. Darling settles them down and the pillow is not on the table, yet in Aunt Millicent's close-up the pillow is there as before. (00:03:20)

Continuity mistake: After arriving at the bank, the young letter carrier pulls out the envelope addressed to Mr. Darling and holds it out in front of him. Yet in the next shot facing Mr. Darling the letter is held the opposite way, in the boy's still outstretched hand. (00:09:10)

Continuity mistake: There is a shot of Nana sleeping in her house before we see Peter flying over Wendy, who is also asleep. Then there is another shot of Nana coming out of her house barking. The toys' positions near Nana's house differ in both shots and Nana did not move them. (00:06:05)

Continuity mistake: When Peter struggles with his shadow on the dresser in the hallway, in the first shot Peter's right foot forces the red table runner to slide off. Yet in the next shot the wrinkled runner is still on the dresser, though it starts to fall with Peter as he goes down. In the next close-up of the drawer, the runner and Peter are still on top and both fall again, albeit differently. But when Aunt Millicent closes the bedroom door the wrinkled table runner is on the dresser again as she walks away and when Wendy gets needle & thread the runner is neat and flat. Continuity mistake: Peter kicks the jack-in-the-box and it falls over, but when Wendy starts to say, "But there's no such thing as," Peter flies toward her and the jack-in-the-box is upright now. (00:18:55)

Continuity mistake: Tink unlocks the nursery window, flies about and darts under John's bed. In the view from above John's bed, we see a large play castle at the brass footboard of his bed. However, in the next shot looking out from under his bed as Tink opens the wardrobe, we see through the bars of the footboard that the play castle is GONE. Then in the next shot of the bed the castle is back. (00:12:25)

Continuity mistake: When John falls to the floor he slams into the toy house. In the wide shot he and the house stop moving with his feet landing near the toy house, whose front door is wide open as the camera shows Wendy and Michael through it. In the close-up however his head is near the house, whose front door just opens a bit. (00:21:45)

Continuity mistake: When Pippin gets up from his cot in the corner, in the wide shot the fur rugs between his and Merry's cot are two light browns and a black in between and there is a black rug in front of Gimli's cot. Yet when Aragorn comes in and takes hold of the palantir, in this shot the black fur rug at the foot of Pip's cot is gone. In the next shot the black rug in front of Gimli's cot is gone and the rug that the palantir rolls onto when out of Aragorn's grasp now faces the opposite way than when Pippin first awoke and walked toward Gandalf. Continuity mistake: Before Merry asks, "What are you doing?" in this wide shot Pippin heads towards Gandalf and walks in the very narrow area between the center cots and the cots against the walls. Yet, when Aragorn walks in and also in the close-up as the palantir rolls out of Aragorn's hand, the area between the cots has significantly widened from the original width, note the floor pattern, for the obvious dramatic shot!
