Continuity mistake: When Jamie and Dave are trying to drive around the old couple, you see Jamie's window is all the way down, but a few feet later when they run out of gas, we see Jamie roll his window down to talk to the couple.
Jerry: "The ocean called, they're running out of shrimp"? George: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, then I said to him, "oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called and they're running out of you." Jerry: Really? That's great, you said that to him? George: Well, actually I, I thought it up on the way over here. Jerry: Oh, that's not quite the same.
Continuity mistake: Near the end when Mike is on top of Governor Tracey, the camera pans to a wide shot and there's no sign behind the people on the stage. In the newspaper picture of Mike on top of her, there's now a sign behind the people.
Continuity mistake: When the boulder is coming down, the front door is open. When we get a shot of the front of the cabin, the door is now closed. However, the doorknob switches from being on the left to being on the right. We also see there is nothing hanging from the porch roof. Before Mike and Steve crash through, we see the front again and the doorknob is back to the left and there's a metal star hanging from the porch roof.
Continuity mistake: When the boulder hits the cabin and Mike falls out the front door, he's rolling, almost off the door, and on his side, with his back close to the rocks. There also is nothing on the back of the door. When it cuts to the close up, Mike is now face down on the door completely, with a dartboard on the door.
Ron Carter: In light of the severity of these crimes, we ask for remand, your honor.
Ms. O'Brien: In light of the weakness of their evidence, remand is absurd.
Ron Carver: The evidence past mustard with the grand jury.
Ms. O'Brien: Oh right, was my client indicted before or after the ham sandwich?
Continuity mistake: When Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes fall out the window while fighting, all the window pieces fall to the ground and nothing is against the wall. When Snake Eyes gets up, and when he throws Storm Shadow to the ground, there's a long piece propped against the wall now. When the two are rolling around, it's now gone.
Continuity mistake: When George and Sherm are in line getting coffee, there's only one person in front of them. When the shot changes, there are now 3 people in front of them for the scene. When George turns to look at his boss, it's back to one person in front and when he turns back, there's 2 people.
Continuity mistake: George is on the phone with his wife when he gets hit by the taxi; as he crosses the street there are 2 taxis at the light, when the camera angle changes and he's on the hood of the 2nd taxi, we never see the 1st taxi drive forward. When the camera angle changes back, the 1st taxi is now a blue car.
Continuity mistake: When Luke and the others arrive at Gateway, there's a Smart car with its doors wide open. When they start walking and the shot changes, the doors are now hardly open. The doors keep changing position depending on the shot thereafter.
Revealing mistake: At the beginning, as the flying saucer lands at the stadium, the shadow the ship cast doesn't change size as it gets lower to the ground.
Trivia: All the names on Danny McGrath's "people to kill" list, save Billy Madison, are various crew members. Perry Blake, production designer, has worked on over 25 Adam Sandler films. The names of Fitch Cady and Martin Walter were extended to "Cadyton" and "Walterson."
Audio problem: In the beginning, when Murtaugh's daughter comes downstairs in the black dress the dialog is dubbed in. After the spin, she's talking but she doesn't move her mouth (even before the spin she isn't in sync). Her little sister replies and doesn't move her mouth either.
Hawkeye: Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know because the city is, is flying. Okay, look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.
Trivia: The story Lt. Valeris tells of the word origin for "sabotage", with sabots being thrown into machinery, is simply not true (although a persistent enough falsehood not to be considered a movie mistake). While the word does take its roots from sabots (wooden shoes), it comes from French anarchist Pouget wanting to translate the British practice of ca'cannery, deliberately working slowly, into a French word. Those who wore wooden shoes moved clumsily and slower than those with leather shoes.
Continuity mistake: Max's antler changes constantly after being cut. The number of cut branches, the size, and locations all changes at various times. At first, it's 4 cut branches. Then when he jumps on the sleigh it's 3, and when he's hooked up to the sleigh, it's just 2.
High School Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said, is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Billy Madison: OK, a simple "wrong" would have done just fine.
