Plot hole: When Nezbitt starts attacking Kaiba, Kaiba throws a duelling card at Nezbitt. However, Kaiba shouldn't have a deck of cards on him at this point, as the rules of the virtual world only grant him a duelling deck when he duels someone, which he doesn't do until later in the episode. Continuity mistake: When the main characters run up to Nezbitt, not knowing it isn't Tristan, the wide shot shows Kaiba with his fists pointed at an upward angle. In the next shot of Kaiba, where he says "Yugi," his fists are pointed downwards. (00:02:19)

Continuity mistake: In a flashback to Kaiba's childhood, he has rows of cards laid on the floor. The cards are positioned so that the bottom side of the cards is facing toward the window. When the shot cuts, the cards are facing Kaiba and a wall behind him, and away from the window. (00:12:28)

Other mistake: When younger, Kaiba has duelling cards laid out on the floor; one of the Exodia monster cards can be seen. The Exodia cards have always been presented as extremely rare monster cards, and it is unlikely Kaiba would have one of these. (00:12:40)

Continuity mistake: When Leichter activates the Life Absorbing Machine, there is a shot of Leichter drawing a card from his deck. In the shot, the life point display on his duel disk cannot be seen on the rectangular screen. Then there is a close-up of the rectangular screen, where his life points go up and the display is suddenly visible again. (00:17:45)

Continuity mistake: When the satellite targets Kaiba, there are two POV shots of the satellite when it is looking at the bridge where Kaiba is looking forwards and directly facing Leichter. Then, in the final shot, Kaiba is suddenly looking up at the satellite. (00:19:03)

Continuity mistake: Whilst the main characters are in the truck and discussing what just happened, in a wide shot, Tea is standing in front of Serenity. In the next shot, Tea and Serenity are side by side. (00:01:58)

Other mistake: When Leichter is boasting about how he has three times as many life points as Kaiba, just as Kaiba says "Just try," the Lord of Dragons monster card can be seen on his duel disk in defence mode. However, Lord of Dragons isn't a monster that Kaiba has on his duel field; it is just the monster he selected as his Deck Master. (00:03:15)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi and Joey realise Leichter has Jinzo as his deck master, in the shot of Yugi saying "It's Jinzo," Leichter (in the form of Jinzo) has his right arm at his side. In a closer shot of Leichter, his right arm is stretched further to the right by a few inches. (00:04:57)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi says that Kaiba's trap cards are useless, Tea says, "Oh no," and raises her left forearm. It then cuts to a wide shot, and Tea's left forearm is lowered. (00:05:04)

Continuity mistake: When Noah tells Mokuba it's time he learned the harsh truth about his brother, his arms are at his side. But in the next shot, his right arm is placed over the back of the couch. (00:08:24)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi finds the photograph in the bedroom, in the wide shot, the table that the photograph is placed on appears to have dust covered over the top half of the table, but little dust over the bottom half of the table. Then there is a close-up of the photograph as it gets picked up, and the bottom half of the table is suddenly covered in dust. (00:10:57)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi and Tea walk into the room that Kaiba, Mokuba and Noah are in, the two are standing side-by-side. But in the next shot, Yugi is standing behind Tea. (00:14:10)

Continuity mistake: When Joey sees the Cyber Harpie card among the cards in his hand, it is the fifth card, placed on the right-hand side. When Joey summons the monster a few seconds later, it is the third card in his hand, placed in the middle. (00:12:58)

Continuity mistake: When Yugi summons Mystical Elf in defence mode, another version of the card is shown beneath the monster when it appears on the field. When the Legendary Fisherman goes to attack seconds later, the Mystical Elf card shown beneath the monster is now facing the opposite direction. (00:13:30 - 00:13:58)

Merger of the Big Five: Part 1 - S3-E14
Continuity mistake: When Devlin says, "Soon, Tristan will have his body back," robot monkey Tristan has his tail pointed away from him. In the next shot, the tail is pointed in the opposite direction. (00:14:49)

Merger of the Big Five: Part 2 - S3-E15
Continuity mistake: When Johnson summons Hysteric Angel, in the shot of him placing the monster card on the duel disk, there is another monster card also on the duel disk. A few seconds later, after Hysteric Angel has appeared on the field, only one monster card can be seen on the duel disk, even though there should be two. (00:03:52)

Merger of the Big Five: Part 2 - S3-E15
Revealing mistake: When Joey falls to the ground after being attacked by Hysteric Angel and his life points go down to 300, the cards in his hand are missing the illustrations. (00:04:36)
