The Simpsons

Bart vs. Thanksgiving - S2-E7

Other mistake: In the DVD booklet, two errors are made for this episode. The booklet says Homer accuses Bart of ruining Thanksgiving and Bart was jealous of Lisa's centre piece. These are both incorrect: First, it wasn't Homer who accused Bart of ruining Thanksgiving, it was Marge who accused Bart of ruining Thanksgiving and second, at no point throughout the episode was Bart ever jealous of Lisa's centre piece.

Lisa's Substitute - S2-E19

Continuity mistake: The long shot of Homer and Mr. Bergstrom eating lunch together at the childrarium shows Mr. Bergstrom's left hand resting on the table, but the next close-up shot of the duo shows Mr. Bergstrom's left hand up, holding a fork.

The Way We Was - S2-E12

Revealing mistake: While Homer is waiting for Marge to come downstairs, both Patty and Selma are wearing turtlenecks. When Homer thanks Mr. Bouvier, in the next wide shot as the twins nod their heads, both of their turtlenecks are not colored in properly at their torsos, so the background is visible through their bodies. The Way We Was - S2-E12

Continuity mistake: While Homer and Barney are smoking in the boys bathroom, when Principal Dondelinger walks in on them the "boys" sign on the exterior side of the door disappears in the closeup, but the sign reappears as Dondelinger exits. The door push plates on both sides of the swing door also vanish/reappear during the scene. (00:04:35)

Lisa's Substitute - S2-E19

Continuity mistake: After Lisa paces around the school hallway practising how to ask Mr. Bergstrom over for dinner, when she opens the classroom door there's a backplate behind the doorknob and a lower panel under the window, but when she sees Miss Hoover and gasps, the backplate and lower panel have both disappeared. Dancin' Homer - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: When Mr Burns and Smithers are standing outside Springfield Stadium, Mr Burns says to Smithers, "Put a little smile on his card" and Smithers is writing it down with a pencil in his left hand. When the Simpsons arrive in the next shot, the pencil has changed into another piece of paper.

Dancin' Homer - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: When Bart says to Homer that he's on "Jumbo-Vision", the man behind Homer is drinking from a paper cup with a straw, but when we see Homer on the screen, the paper cup has disappeared.

Tree House of Horror X - S11-E4

[The Simpsons are driving down a road as fast as possible.]
Homer: Dear God, it's Homer. If you really love me you'll save my life now.
[The gas needle immediately drops to empty and the car stops.]

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Question: Homer travels back in time and causes changes by what he does in the past, like stepping on a bug. I once saw a movie with the same basic plot: some people travel back in time and are told to be careful not to disturb anything, but when they return to their time everything has changed. In the end they discover it was because they stepped on a butterfly. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
