Godzilla (1998)

Corrected entry: If the lizards are born pregnant and produce offspring within 12 months then the "mother" lizard would have already produced many litters prior to the one in New York and those offspring would have in turn produced their own litters meaning the planet would have already been over-run long before the litter of 200 in New York. That is, unless the "mother" lizard in the movie is only 12 months old herself and the New York litter was her first (which in itself would be ridiculous). Not to mention that the "mother" would also have 199 brothers and sisters all producing offspring.

Correction: Why is it so ridiculous that the litter would be her first? Zilla may only be 12 months old. Or she may have laid eggs 12 months after reaching maturity. As for the mother having brothers and sisters, watch the beginning of the film. You can see there is only one egg left on the bombed atoll.

Germ Warfare - S1-E11

Corrected entry: The POW has blood type AB-, and the doctors search the records to find Frank has AB-. Type AB is the "universal receiver" and can accept a transfusion from any type blood. Type O on the other hand can only receive from another type O. The story should have been based on Type O blood.

EASYCHEEZY

Correction: While a person with AB- blood can receive any blood type that is also Rh-, it is still best medical practice to give a person only their own blood type if possible to minimize the chance of transfusion reaction.

Heroes - S10-E18

Corrected entry: When the champ comes in, several soldiers are lying in the post-op ward, and some of them don't look likely to get out soon. After the champ suffers his stroke, the ward is empty and Cavanaugh is the only patient there. Hawkeye even says "Afraid you're going to lose your private room, Champ?" What happened to the other wounded? (00:05:00 - 00:18:45)

Doc

Correction: Patients get transferred out all the time. If they knew that they were going to get more wounded in, they would transfer as many as could be feasibly moved. Obviously all could be safely moved.

LorgSkyegon

No mention is made in the dialog of moving wounded out to make room, as it is in many other episodes. The wounded are just suddenly gone. While none is explicitly mentioned as being critical or unable to be transferred (transferring wounded just isn't touched upon at all in this episode), as detailed in the original mistake, some wounded look quite heavily injured, e.g. the guy in the body cast the champ talks to. In other episodes, the doctors show quite a lot of reluctance in moving patients with similar looking injuries.

Doc

Correction: They do things all the time without specifically mentioning it. The job of a mash unit is to fix up those in critical need and get them to a recovery/evacuation or their unit as soon as possible.

Osmosis Jones (2001)

Corrected entry: A little problem with Thrax's plan: viruses, bacteria, etc. don't cause fevers themselves. That's the body's response to kill the parasites.

Correction: A standard infection-caused fever is called hyperthermia - a warming of the body to kill the infection. Thrax is causing hyperpyrexia - a syndrome where the body's normal temperature auroregulation is malfunctioning, exactly what is happening in the film.

House, M.D. (2004)

Season 7 generally

Corrected entry: Zachary tells Colleen that he gave the other girl a cheat code for Red Dead Revolver to hit her with the jump-rope, forcing her to lose the bet so she'd have to kiss him. Although it's possible that the girl was playing a 7-year-old game on an outdated system, it's more likely that he meant Red Dead Redemption, the sequel released last year. (00:36:50)

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: I still play Super Mario World - a twenty year-old game on a system outdated three generations over. People like old games.

Home Alone (1990)

Corrected entry: How would the robbers know exactly what time the lights were going on at the McCallisters' house? It is the first evening they are away from home; and even though Harry visited the house the evening before, he was not told the exact second when the timers were set and didn't leave the hallway to find out for himself.

Correction: They've been casing the neighborhood and Harry made notes on exactly when the automatic lights came on. The people in the neighborhood would have the timers set all the time, not just when they're away.

Corrected entry: During the first counter-strike following the aliens attack, F-14 Tomcats are shown on the tarmac at MCAS El Toro. The Marine Corps does not and has never operated F-14s, they are Navy aircraft. (00:55:40)

Razvaluha

Correction: The Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. Perhaps they were simply stored there for repairs or moved for the attack.

Corrected entry: When the dwarves are having their feast at Bilbo's place, the dwarves themselves noticeably change places around the table between shots. Particularly obvious are Kili, Fili and Ori - Kili and Fili start off next to each other, then Fili is suddenly walking across the top of the table in the very next shot. Then later, when they have a burping contest, there is a shot of Kili laughing and Ori is right next to him, and it then cuts to a shot of Ori on his own, somehow having teleported to the opposite end of the table.

virtual-toast

Correction: It's a montage scene. Not everything is supposed to be happening in a row.

Grease 2 (1982)

Corrected entry: When the T-birds begin singing "Prowlin'" at the gas station, Louis is wearing light grey pants, but when they are shown on the stage he has blue jeans on, while everyone else is still in the same clothes they had on at the gas station.

Correction: So? It is obviously a different day. Just because the other Birds are wearing the same or similar clothes doesn't mean Louis has to as well.

LorgSkyegon

This correction is illogical, why would the T-birds break up a song over the course of two days, and have only one guy change clothes, when every other song in the film is done in "real time"? This entry does not need a correction.

The only one who appears to be in the same clothes is Johnny, wearing black pants and shirt. The others have different shirts. As for the pants, many people wear pants multiple times before they are washed. For Johnny, he likely has a wardrobe that consists heavily of black clothing - to make him look cooler. It could still be a different set of clothing. As for the song, it is sung earlier in the film as well - during the T-Birds' audition. The singing at the station and the stage is practice.

The Craft (1996)

Corrected entry: When the girls are on the beach and Nancy sees all the dead sharks, there are people all over the place. Someone would have noticed a girl kneeling beside a dead shark body yelling "I can feel you in me!" and all the other stuff she yells and would have at the least asked if she was OK to make sure she wasn't crazy.

Correction: Or they see a freaky looking girl shouting crazy things and stay away from her afraid.

Grease 2 (1982)

Corrected entry: In gym class when the T-Birds are pushing the tackling sled toward Coach Calhoun, the push it into him so that he loses his balance and falls down. But no part of his body is actually touching the sled.

Correction: Yes there is. He's standing on it.

Men of Honour (2000)

Corrected entry: The aide is first referred to as "Lieutenant Hanks" by the ship's captain. Then, he's shown wearing rank insignia of a single silver bar on his collar. In the US Navy, that's the rank of an Ensign. As a lieutenant in the Navy, he should be wearing two joined silver bars (same as an Army Captain). (00:16:25)

Correction: Ensign is a single gold bar. A single silver bar is Lieutenant Junior Grade.

McHale's Navy (1997)

Corrected entry: In the final battle scene when Vladikov is in his boat, he picks up a radio microphone to call McHale but talks into the back side of the microphone.

Correction: It would still pick up his voice given how close it was to his mouth.

Corrected entry: The Texas police talk about ten dead victims then The Bride spits at one of them and then there were nine. Wouldn't someone have checked properly to see that she was alive before the police arrived?

Correction: It's quite easy to mistake someone seriously injured for being dead without medical training or equipment.

Lethal Weapon 4 (1998)

Corrected entry: When Riggs is pinned beneath the concrete slab, Murtaugh staggers to his feet. His coat opens, revealing an automatic pistol in a holster. He was always known as a wheel gun guy, so why the automatic? And, if he had it, why didn't he use it to kill the guy in the white pajamas?

Correction: Remember that they had to find new guns because they ran out of ammo during the shootout. He just put away the one that still had ammo.

LorgSkyegon

Corrected entry: The headline near the beginning of the movie reads "Cole's wins etc." where it should read "Coles wins etc."

Correction: "Cole's" is correct. The owner is Mr. Cole, Not Mr. Coles.

Predator (1987)

Corrected entry: Throughout the movie Dutch is referred to as Major, and Mac is referred to as Sergeant, yet when Mac runs up as Blain has just been killed, he yells "Sergeant" as he begins firing at the Predator.

Correction: He doesn't say "Sergeant." He says "Contact", meaning he's spotted an enemy.

LorgSkyegon

Correction: I'm looking for an explanation of why Mac yelled, "Sergeant," because I turned on closed captioning and that's what he said, not "contact."

At first I heard "sergeant", but after replaying it a few times, I heard "contact." The first syllable you can hear the 'kän sound but he fades off and you don't really hear a hard "takt" sound. It should be noted that Blain's rank was sergeant.

Saving Silverman (2001)

Corrected entry: In the bar when Darren's nipples are on fire, he grabs a martini glass of alcohol to put it out. Martinis are made with vodka or gin and neither of those burn as badly as portrayed in the movie.

Correction: Just because alcohol was in a Martini glass doesn't mean it was actually a martini. Any kind of alcohol could have been put in there.

LorgSkyegon

Corrected entry: Sojef states that his people came from a Solar System on the brink of war. This would technically be the Sol System, which is where Earth resides. Star Trek traditionally would refer to other systems properly as a generic "star system". (00:38:20)

Correction: He can say it however he wants to. Just because something is normally said one way, doesn't mean others can't say it another way.

LorgSkyegon

That doesn't address the mistake. The mistake is that he calls it a "solar system." The term "solar system" does not refer to a system of a star, it refers specifically to the system that contains Earth. The star our system orbits is called "sol", hence "solar system." This can't be explained by saying a character simply chose to refer to another star system as a solar system, because solar system is a proper name. It would be like saying "China is a country on the Africa of Asia", when you mean to say "China is a country on the continent of Asia." This is a common mistake in many science fiction films, but is one that Star Trek rarely makes.

The Stag Convergence - S5-E22

Corrected entry: Leonard and Penny are inhaling Sulphur Hexaflouride to make their voices low. The effect can be seen to be fake for two reasons. First, their voices go back to normal instantly and on demand - the gas actually takes a while to clear. Second, when Leonard releases the balloon, it flies away; it should just fall to the floor because Sulphur Hexaflouride is heavier than air.

Moose

Correction: 1. Wrong episode. This scene is from Episode 23. 2. Your voice will clear in as much time as it takes to clear your lungs - one or two breaths. 3. A sulfur hexafluoride balloon will still fly, as the escaping gas is still propelling it, as demonstrated in this clip by Mythbuster Adam Savage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-XbjFn3aqE.
