Julie & Julia (2009)

Corrected entry: "Mrs Joy" says she got the money to pay a publisher for her cook book from the life insurance money from her husband, but the husband committed suicide, shooting himself in the head - you can't claim life insurance when the person commits suicide.

kh1616

Correction: Some life insurance policies don't exclude suicide. They are all different. I have seen ones that require you to die in a hospital and not a home or nursing home.

The Hunger Games (2012)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the scene where Katniss fights Clove after getting the backpack with Peeta's medicine, Clove throws a knife at her, and it cuts her forehead. If someone gets even a tiny scratch on his/her forehead it bleeds a lot, so a cut this big should at least blind Katniss with all the blood pouring from it [as the book says]. But after struggling and running for her life, there's not a single drop of blood on her, and when Peeta rubs the medicine on her forehead, it is as if the wound was days old.

eructo666

Correction: While head wounds do typically bleed a lot, it is not a guarantee. Sometimes deeper cuts bleed less and there are places/people who bleed less. Some people just don't bleed as much as others. Also, as Katniss surely has an adrenalin rush going, that alone could also explain the less than "typical" blood flow (adrenalin constricts the vascular system). As a paramedic, I have seen head wounds that bleed a lot and some that don't.

Source Code (2011)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Colter looks at Derek Frost's license in his wallet, his city/state are listed as Northfield, ILL. Three-letter state abbreviations are outdated. Later when Goodwin and Rutledge are showing the various passengers' ID's on a computer screen, Frost's license now lists his city/state as Chicago, IL. Different city, and the current style 2-letter state abbreviation.

Cal K.

Correction: My mother has a driver's license from the state of Florida that is LAMINATED PAPER. They stopped making those in the mid-1990s. As long as she renews her license, they send her a sticker, but not a new one. She has updated her address several times since. The new address is in the DMV system.

Corrected entry: When Lana, Anna and Fontana are in their cheerleader outfits and performing "Grove Lions", look at the back and you can see a girl who is obviously not used to cheerleading. When the rest of the girls twirl round she can't twirl, and at the end when they all say "Go Lions!" her back has turned and she has to turn round to join in with the rest of the group.

Correction: So? Maybe she is new. Maybe she only got on the squad due to popularity. Cheerleaders has to start somewhere.

Legend: Part 2 - S6-E23

Corrected entry: Tony enters NCIS, and Ziva informs him that Gibbs wants them in MTAC. As they reach the lobby, Tony, who is holding a mocha soy latte (probably a venti), is informed that drinks are forbidden in MTAC, so he gifts a passerby with it. However, in many previous episodes, both Gibbs and the previous Director, Jenny Shepard, have enjoyed their caffeine-laced coffees while reposing in the comfortable seating in MTAC.

Correction: The Director can do whatever she wants to do, Gibbs does what he wants even if it is not allowed, and Ziva LOVES to mess with Tony. Besides liquids are probably at least frowned upon in a high tech area.

House, M.D. (2004)

Correction: His name is Dr Robert Chase. So calling him Robert is simply using his first name. The actor's name in real life is Jesse Spencer.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

Corrected entry: When the SWAT team leaves the vault, how do they account for the extra people leaving with them? Even if Ocean made his own way back to the beat room, Yen and Linus would be 2 extra SWAT team members who magically appeared.

tyson

Correction: When a crisis is occurring, most people don't stop and count the number of responders (SWAT, police, fire, ems). They just accept what they are being shown. No one asked for identification either.

Mean Girls (2004)

Corrected entry: When Cady is at the math competition, she remembers the limits written on the blackboard behind Aaron's head. However, he was blocking the board and her attention was primarily focused on him, so she wouldn't be able to see what was behind him and therefore be able to picture it.

curiouskid

Correction: Well since she was able to pass calculus, she obviously looked at the board at least once, hence knowing what it looked like.

Corrected entry: When Marty's son walks by young Jennifer in the hallway of his home, he thinks is the older Jennifer and says "Hi mom, nice pants". Later at dinner, Marty Sr. and Lorraine are talking about how Jennifer is late coming home. Marty Jr. is sitting right there and doesn't even mention how he just saw his mom in the hallway.

calidude

Correction: He is occupied with the retractable fruit plate and glasses phone.

Correction: He's a teenage boy. Not always the most observant or helpful.

Corrected entry: At Stanford's wedding Carrie and Big are getting ready. Carrie's hair style is crimped, pulled back, and has a braid at the top of her head. When you see her at the next scene her hair style is changed. It is now curly with some crimping and pulled back in a softer way, and the braid is now gone.

gvelles71

Correction: There is time between the getting ready phase and the actual wedding. It is very plausible, and totally within character, Carrie decided to change her hair slightly.

Leap Year (2010)

Corrected entry: As Declan's car is supposed to be a Taxi it does not carry certain legal requirements a Taxi should carry: Roof plates, dash plates and dash mounted photo identification. The dashboard does not have a printer for legally required receipts. If meant to be a hackney then it does not have the front and rear bumper plates required there also.

Correction: I think it's meant to just be a privately owned car that he will "help" drive someone around. Not exactly legal, but it happens.

Accepted (2006)

Corrected entry: The other students shouldn't have been accepted. If they filled out the online application, it would've went to either Bartelby or Schraeder and they would've had to send them an acceptance letter in order for them to know they were accepted to South Harmon and to be at "orientation".

TeejBham

Correction: Schraeder made the link "acceptance is just a click away" so it might have told people that they were accepted once they filled out the form. He also probably would have placed the "orientation" date on the website to fool Bartelby's father. Thats why everyone showed up.

shortdanzr

Corrected entry: This film uses a lot (maybe too many) Italian stereotypes, but they're all (the black-dressed old women, the jealous father, nice dressed men always trying with Frances) southern Italian ones. These are the most known Italian characters since most of the immigrant came from the south, but in this context, it's like placing a lot of cowboys in New York City.

zilraag 1

Correction: I fail to see how using stereotypes is a movie mistake. Most movies have lots of them.

Deep Blue Sea (1999)

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the movie, just before Saffron Burrows' character is eaten by the shark, she makes a slashing motion across her throat. This is the underwater signal for, "I'm out of air."

MrNelg

Correction: This has already been submitted. It wont let me delete based on duplicate entry but it's entry 142121.

Corrected entry: When the people of Argos learn from Hades that Perseus is a demigod, the soldiers bring him downstairs to question him. He has the line, "I mend nets, not wield a sword." This is improper grammar and appears to be a mistake rather than for the purpose of building his character. He should have said, "I mend nets. I don't wield swords," or "I was meant to mend nets, not wield a sword." (00:22:25)

Correction: He's also a mostly uneducated fisherman. And perhaps the way he speaks would be proper in Argos. And many people in today's society would speak the same as he did.

Twilight (2008)

Corrected entry: In the hospital scene towards the conclusion of the movie, Bella's nasogastric feeding tube isn't taped to her nose properly. As it dangles out of her nose, it is clear that the prop does not have the tubes going through her esophagus and into her stomach, as a real tube would. This misstep has actually led some people to assume it is some sort of breathing apparatus, which it is not. .

Correction: IT IS a nasal cannula delivering oxygen. It is NOT a nasogastric tube to empty the contents of her stomach.

She's the Man (2006)

Corrected entry: When Viola arrives in her dorm room she is carrying a soccer ball, which she dumps on her bed with her bags. It remains there while she sits down and talks to the guys, and it's there when she stands up, but when she says 'Shveet' and there is a wide shot of the room, it's disappeared off her bed.

Correction: It is a soccer ball. They are capable of rolling off of a bed with only a small amount of movement.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: When Bond has the cardiac arrest M is watching the number of his pulse and we hear the beeps. We hear the pulse slow down, but the number just changes from 134 to 133. The sound of the beeps indicate a pulse much slower than that - maybe only around 60.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: It is possible to have an electrical rate of 133 (what M sees), but it only corresponds to an actual (felt) rate of 60. There are a lot of technical, medical reasons for this, but I have seen it many times in my patients that are about to code.

shortdanzr

Corrected entry: During the scene where Alice jumps over the rail to invite Bella to her birthday party, You see Jasper concentrating and Bella says "mo fair using mood manipulation." However throughout the Twilight series they state that no vampire can use their "powers" to affect Bella.

Correction: Actually that's false! They mention NUMEROUS times that since Jasper is using a different method, he is able to influence her moods. This even causes Bella to be very frightened during Breaking Dawn. Specifically, they can't use MENTAL powers on Bella. Jasper influences her actual metabolic systems and can calm her that way. Alice does nothing to her mentally to see her future. But Edward and Aro's mind reading and Jane's pain abilities are done in her mind, so they have no effect on her.
